e would like to compliment you on purchasing a Moretti Design
hydro pellet stove heater.
Our products are well advanced in the heating and granular
combustion field, the advanced technology used as well as fine
detailed design, render our heaters the most performing and
reliable for pellet combustion. The high quality of materials used
combined with skilled craftsmanship all lead to a product that
meets all necessities that range from their aesthetic appearance to
functional use as well as rendering the room in which it is installed
more luxurious with its refined and clean look and unmistakable
warmth that only a flame can give.
PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY THE FOLLO ING
MANUAL BEFORE INSTALLING AND USING THE STOVE.
The boiler hydro stove sim ly indicated as “hydro stove”, has been
constructed in a conformed way in accordance with the EN 14785
directive, taking in account relevant technical standards, using certified
com onents and erforming regularly required check-u s to ensure its
safe use and functionality.
The hydro stove is delivered ready to be installed along with its user
manual and CE declaration. The following manual contains im ortant
information that must be followed in order to use the hydro stove in a
safe manner. The user must read carefully this manual before o erating
the stove and must ay attention to all indications and obligations given.
The hydro stove has been designed to roduce hot air for heating and
hot water (by using an o tional o en ex ansion vessel circuit system) for
domestic needs, by burning wooden ellets in accordance with the
limitations given in the manual.
General safety warnings
All regulations regarding the installation and use of the hydro
stove, including those referring to National and European
standards must be complied with.
For a correct functionality, the hydro stove must be installed by qualified
ersonnel in accordance with regulation standards and the instruction
manual su lied by the manufacturer.
The hydro stove must be used exclusively for the ur ose it was
designed for, any res onsibility for eventual damage to things, eo le or
animals for an im ro er use of the roduct will be held at the user’s
ex ense.
Do not use the hydro stove as an incinerator or in any other manner
other than that for which it was designed for.
Do not use fuels other than wooden ellets. Do not use liquid fuels.
Do not ut ellets directly into the burner. Do not o en the door whilst
the hydro stove is in function.
For its ordinary function, the user must a ly all the indications derived
from a thorough reading of the user and maintenance manual, and
scru ulously observe the indications and signs located on the hydro
stove.
The lug of the ower cable must be connected only AFTER the
installation and assembly of the a liance has been concluded and must
remain accessible afterwards, that is if the device does not have a
suitable and accessible double- ole switch.
Before any intervention for maintenance, the hydro stove must be
disconnected from any ower source. Do not remove any signs or
rotective casings from the stove.
Pay attention that the ower cable does not touch any hot arts of the
hydro stove.
Do not turn off the hydro stove by disconnecting the cable from the main
ower su ly.
While the hydro stove is in function, its outer surface can reach high
tem eratures so be cautious when handling to avoid burns.
The a liance cannot be used by children under the age of 8 and
ersons with reduced hysical, sensory or mental ca abilities, or without
knowledge or ex erience required, rovided that they are under
surveillance or after they have been given instructions on how to safely
use the a liance and they understand all hazards inherent to it.
The cleaning and maintenance intended to be erformed by the user
must not be erformed by unsu ervised children.
Do not erform any unauthorized modifications to the hydro stove.
Use only original s are arts recommended by the manufacturer.
In the event the chimney flue catches fire, turn the hydro stove off by
ressing the turn off button, do not disconnect from the main ower
su ly and contact the local fire de artment.
The maximum ressure and minimum inlet from the water su ly should
be: 0,5 bar (50 kPa) min and 1.5 bar (150 kPa) Max.
It is recommended the installation of an anti-condensation valve.
The qualified technician that will install the roduct, will also assume full
res onsibility for the final installation and the subsequent functionality of
the roduct. There will be no liability from the manufacturer for the failure
to com ly with such recautions.
After un acking the hydro stove, make sure of the integrity of the roduct
and com leteness of the contents, in case of non-com liance, contact
the dealer from whom the hydro stove was urchased from.
The hydro stove maintenance must be carried out at least once a year
by qualified ersonnel, one must lan in time this o erating with the
technical service center.
On all Moretti Design roducts, at the end of the assembly line a
scru ulous check-u followed by a combustion test is carried out.
Therefore, we inform the customer that at the delivery of the roduct it is
normal to find traces of combustion, which testify the testing occurred.
DESCRIPTION
Identification
Attached on the back of the hydro stove, there is an identification late
on which the following information is written:

Description of the hydro stove
The ellet hydro stove is a heat source that can heat
water, which is then um ed into an o en or closed
ex ansion vessel system, by burning wooden ellets. The
fuel is loaded automatically into the hydro stove. The
hydro stove has been designed to use a heat transfer fluid (water). The
water inside the stove is heated by the flames roduced by the
combustion of wooden ellets and then um ed into the heating system.
The excess heat is blown, with the heating fan, inside the same
environment in which the hydro stove is located.
The safe use of the heater is guaranteed by the fact that on all Moretti
Design roducts, CE certified systems are installed and they control all
functions and arameters. The advanced software allows for the user a
more sim le and immediate com rehension of the heaters functions.
The resence of a thermostat on all Moretti Design roducts allow the
user to rogram the on/off switching function of the stove. The large fuel
tank, allows fuel fillings conveniently diluted over time. The large ash
draw allows the user to em ty it just once a week when it is filled with
ash (The frequency of the o eration may vary de ending on the time of
use of the stove and quality of ellets).
INSTALLATION
The hydro stove must be placed on a floor with an adequate load
capacity. If the building does not meet this requirement,
appropriate measures (e.g. load distribution plate) must be taken.
The installation of the hydro stove must ensure an easy access for
cleaning the heater, the flue and the chimney.
The presence of extraction fans in the same room or environment
where the appliance is installed in, can cause problems and should
therefore be avoided.
It is prohibited to install the hydro stove in a small rooms or
bedrooms. It is forbidden to install the hydro stove in rooms
exposed to a high risk of fire, in rooms with an explosive
atmosphere or where other heat generators are already present
whose simultaneous presence is not compatible according to
standard regulations.
All local regulations and European standards must be met when the
stove is installed.
Supply conditions and Unpacking
The hydro stove is delivered ackaged together with the dismantled
aesthetics. To un ack the hydro stove it is necessary to cut the stra s
and remove the carton. Use the ro er equi ment for lifting the
a liance from the wooden allet.
Assembling
For the installation of the hydro stove, contact an authorized technician
(the enalty otherwise would be the void of the warranty). To dissi ate
excessive heat, the hydro stove must be connected to at least two
radiators. The air relief valve and the safety valve of the system are
located on the back of the hydro stove, both must be connected to a
drainage outlet, according to standard regulations.
Combustion air
A oor combustion can be caused by oor air circulation in the room and
this often occurs in modern homes that have sealed doors and windows.
The situation also becomes roblematic when, on the contrary, there are
air currents inside the room (generated for exam le by fans). To avoid
this ty e of disadvantage, it is recommended to install a ermanent
ventilation grid in a window or near the stove.
If there is no ossibility of connecting the air intake directly to the outside
(see next aragra h), it is im erative to drill a hole on the wall for the
combustion air inlet for both health and safety reasons. It is
recommended the installation of an air grid over the o ening and it must
be ke t clean.
Combustion air for a hermetic installation
The air required for the combustion must be drawn
directly from the outside through a tube with a 60mm
diameter. The tube must not exceed 5m in length and
must not have more than 4 curves with a 90° angle. It is
recommended the installation of an air grid over the o ening and it must
be ke t clean (see the following exam le).
Fume exhaust
To extract the exhaust fumes, a flue must be installed in com liance with
standard regulations. The stove was not designed to share the flue with
other a liances.

arning:
The chimney must be constructed according to regulation
standards.
For an external installation, use an insulated chimney flue that can
be inspected on the curves
Use only stainless steel tubes.
Do not use synthetic materials or aluminium.
All sections of the fume exhaust must be accessible for inspections
and internal cleaning.
The minimum draft at nominal power must be 10 Pa, the minimum
draft at reduced power must be 5 Pa.
The outdoor section of the barrel must be insulated.
Failure to comply with the above will void the warranty.
Installing the remote thermostat in the environment
Moretti Design hydro stoves allow for the installation of a on/off remote
thermostat. The connection for the remote thermostat is located on the
back of the stove straight under the ower connector, it has a two in
connector cou ling with two buttons, one black and one red. The
connection to the thermostat assures the function that the boiler stove
can go into Modulation.
Filling the heating system
Before installing the hydro stove it is recommended to carefully wash out
all the tubes of the system in order to remove any debris that may affect
the ro er function of the a liance.
Once all lumbing connections have been com leted, the system must
be filled with water. O en all vents. O en the filling valve and check for
any leaks. Close the ta and the vent valves. Start the um several
times to remove any eventual air ockets.

arning: The exhaust of the safety valve must be connected to a drain
so it can flush out incoming hot water.
Connecting to a system with zone valves
Always leave a zone o en. It is advised to have an anti-condensation
valve installed.
Hot water production kit (optional)
On some hydro stove models it is ossible to install a kit
on board the a liance for the roduction of hot water.
This o tional feature rovides unmatched comfort
because everything is com letely automatic and
controlled by the control unit.
Note: The kit must be connected to the hydraulic system in accordance
with its in ut and out ut indications, the maximum admissible ressure is
2 bars (this o eration must be carried out by a qualified technician).
Operating Conditions
The hydro stove was designed to be used in normal environments,
where there is no danger of ossible fire outbreaks or ex losions. The
dis osal of combustion waste must be carried out in accordance with
local regulations. While using the hydro stove, the settings cannot be
changed or the rotective casings removed. The control unit must be
adjusted by qualified ersonnel.
The maintenance of the roduct must be carried out by s ecialized
com anies in the maintenance of heating a liances and authorized by
Moretti Design, who will submit it to all the check u s required by current
regulations.
Use 6 mm diameter and 30 mm average length wooden pellets for
the hydro stove.
Caution: A hydro stove that has been modified or altered, must be
subjected to further verifications in compliance with the law. The
improper connection of the hydro stove heater to the flue and the
non-compliance with standard regulations for the installation of air
vents, can cause serious danger to people.
Long-term non-use conditions
If the hydro stove has not been used for a long eriod of time, it is
recommended to contact a qualified technician to carry out the following
o erations:
- Place the switch in the 0 osition
- Close all the valves of the heating and domestic water system
- Em ty the system to avoid the water from freezing
Residual Risks
Certain arts of the stove, in articular the glass and flue, while in use
overheat and can cause burns, do not touch or handle unless with the
utmost care.
The electrical arts can cause serious damage, do not touch these arts
without having disconnected the cable from the main ower su ly.
SAFETY DEVICES
Breakage of the exhaust fan: If for any reason the fan breaks, a safety
measure intervenes and blocks the ellet flow (Er02), an alarm goes off
and sto s the stove’s function.
Breakage of the auger motor: If the auger motor sto s feeding ellet,
the system still continues to function on minimum levels then an alarm
goes off and the stove blocks (Er12, Er03).
Failed ignition: The system foresees 1 ignition attem t, if it is not
successful the hydro stove goes into safe mode then in blocks (Er12).
Check that the burner is clean and well ositioned before attem ting
another ignition.
If the burner is not cleaned, the next ignition may cause a little
deflagration inside the combustion chamber. If this occurs, the
manufacturer will not accept any responsibility for damage to
persons, animals or things.
On models with the automatic burner cleaning function (PLUS CLEAN),
the burner before each ignition automatically cleans itself, thus avoiding
the user having to o en the front door and manually cleaning it.
Electrical protection: The system is rotected with a 4 A fuse that is
located on the back of the hydro stove. To re lace it, extract the tray next
to the switch only after disconnecting the ower cable from the ower
su ly, re lace the broken fuse and reinsert the tray, if the new fuse
immediately breaks, contact a technician.
Exhaust fume safety: If there are any anomalies with the smoke
ex ulsion from the system, an alarm will go off and the system will block
(Er02).
Pellet safety: If the tem erature inside the ellet tank exceeds the
safety level, the system blocks (Er01). The reinstatement is automatic,
contact a qualified technician.
ater temperature safety: In case the water tem erature in the boiler
exceeds the safety level, the system goes into block (Er01). The
reinstatement is manual and must be carried out by a qualified
technician by ressing the reset button behind the hydro stove.
Breakage of the pump: If the um sto s, the system goes into alarm
and sto s (Er01, Er04).
ater pressure safety: The ressure of the system is controlled by an
electronic ressure transducer and must be in between 0,5 bar (50 kPa)
and 1,5 bar (150 kPa), if these conditions are not com lied with the
system goes into block. If the system goes over 3 bar, an automatic
safety valve o ens and releases the excessive ressure. To regulate the
ressure within the function range, adjust the discharge valve behind the
stove or on the radiator.
Power failure: If there is a short ower failure in the ower su ly, the
system will go into block (Er15), if the lack of electricity is not brief, the
stove could release a small quantity of smoke in the room, if the air
intake has not been correctly connected to the outside. This is caused
by the scarce draw of the chimney flue and does not represent any
risk for one’s safety. When the ower comes back, the system
switches itself off.
arning: In the case the chimney catches fire, call the fire brigade.
MINIMUM SAFETY DISTANCES
Kee fuels and flammable substances at an adequate distance from the
stove. For minimum distances from flammable materials, one can refer
to the roducts identification late located on the back of the stove.
Caution: For some models the minimum safety distance from
flammable materials may be different than those shown in the
figure below. Therefore, always refer to the product identification
plate generally located on the back of the stove to ensure minimum
safety distances specific model.
Note: If one wants to install the hydro stove near a non-flammable wall,
it is ossible to lace it directly in contact with the wall, as long as it does
not obstruct any access to the electrical com onents or connections or
maintenance interventions.

Pellet loading
Fill the fuel tank with wooden ellets. O en the lid and
then our the fuel in. It is recommended to close the ellet
tank lid ro erly.
Use only wooden pellets with a 6 mm diameter and 30mm maximum
length, EN PLUS certified class A1.
arning: Before filling the tank, make sure that at the bottom there are
no odd materials.
Ignition mode
Make sure that the stove is connected to the electrical ower and that
the switch on the back is on osition “I”
Fill the auger by using the LOAD function (see age 12). During the
ignition or even in run mode, the front door must always be ke t closed.
Before turning on the hydro stove, em ty out the burner once the initial
load function has been carried out.
See DISPLAY RADIO (page 9) on how to turn on the appliance,
adjust the room temperature and combustion power level and for
more information regarding the various menus.
COMBUSTION
The combustion is a chemical reaction in which a fuel ( ellets) and an
oxidiser (air) are combined, thanks to an ignition (resistance), in order to
roduce heat. They should be dosed in suitable ro ortions so that the
combustion can take lace. Following are some exam les with a
descri tion and adjustment rocedure to obtain an o timal combustion.

FIRST IGNITION
Caution: The first ignition must be carried out by MORETTI DESIGN
qualified ersonnel that must also erform an overall check u of the
system.
All local and National laws and European standards must be met
when using the appliance.
Positioning the antenna
The osition of the antenna, is very im ortant in order to o timize the
transmission and rece tion of radio signals between the dis lay radio
and stove itself for the management of the various functions.
Models with external antenna (metal sheet coated)
Make sure that the white ti of the antenna does not remain in contact
with any metal arts of the stove. Perform a signal quality test by using
the Test Radio function ( age. 13) before switching the stove on. If the
signal is not o timal, remove the holding cli and unroll out the antenna
com letely.
Models with internal antenna (glass or majolica coating)
The antenna remains inside the stoves coating. Make sure that the white
ti of the antenna does not remain in contact with any metal arts of the
stove, but it remains in contact with the glass or majolica coating.
Perform a signal quality test by using the Test Radio function ( age. 13)
before switching the stove on.

NON OPTIMAL combustion, the flame is too stretched and a large
amount of burning ellets are blown out of the burner.
• Regulation on models with FCS: Reduce the MCS Calibration
setting one oint at a time (from 0 to +5) until the exam le 3
condition is achieved.
• Manual regulation on models without FCS: Reduce the Fan
Calibration setting one oint at a time (from 0 to +5). If it is not
enough, increase the Auger Calibration setting one oint at a
time (from 0 to -5) until the exam le 3 condition is achieved.
Example 3
OPTIMAL combustion, the flame is vibrant of a yellow/white colour with
a small amount of burning ellets inside the burner. It is not necessary to
adjust any settings in the Calibration menu.
For all three of the exam les, it is advised to evaluate on the s ot all
necessary adjustments.
FCS (Fire Control System)
It is an automatic combustion control system that
maintains the roducts high efficiency. The system
automatically adjusts the fuel ( ellets) and combustion air
dosage according to the draw read from the flowmeter
sensor located inside the stove.
Even with the FCS system activated, it is recommended to check the
quality of the flame by com aring it with the images of the following
exam les.
In the case of a NON OPTIMAL combustion, des ite the FCS system is
active, contact an authorized technician.
Calibration
Note: On models where the FCS (or MCS) is installed on, it is ossible
to adjust the automatic combustion correction range in MCS Calibration.
On models without the FCS it is ossible to manually regulate the
combustion through the Auger Calibration and Fan Calibration
functions.
Example 1
NON OPTIMAL combustion, the flame is high and weak and is of an
intense orange colour also a large amount of unburned ellets are left
over inside the burner.
• Regulation on models with FCS: First of all check the closure
of the front door and tightness of the gaskets. Increase the MCS
Calibration setting one oint at a time (from 0 to +5) until the
exam le 3 condition is achieved.
• Manual regulation on models without FCS: First of all check
the closure of the front door and tightness of the gaskets. Then
increase the Fan Calibration setting one oint at a time (from 0
to +5). If it is not enough, reduce the Auger Calibration setting
one oint at a time (from 0 to -5) until the exam le 3 condition is
achieved.

DISPLAY RADIO
Introduction
The dis lay radio (black) is a wireless device for the stove
to which it is associated with and through it, it is ossible
to control and monitor the systems functions in real time.
The main features are:
- Battery owered remote control.
- Room thermostat.
- Control device for the o erating arameters.
arning: The system works by using the 433.92 MHz ISM radio band
frequency. The range of the device can be reduced significantly in the
case of a noisy environment: other a liances such as wireless
head hones, video, etc, may affect the erformance of the system. Make
sure of the resence of such a liances and turn them off or limit their
use. In the case of interaction of multi le remote controls with more
stoves, one must associate each dis lay radio with a s ecific stove (see
"Code change” age 13).
The dis lay lights u when the button is ressed and the main
screen a ears.

OPERATING STATUS
Check Up
This hase begins as soon as the On/Off button is ressed. During this
hase, the system erforms a cleaning rocess of the burner by running
the exhaust fan at maximum s eed and simultaneously checking the
robes and safety devices.
Ignition
After the Check U hase has been com leted, the system goes to
Ignition. The auger loads a quantity of ellets into the burner and the
ignition resistance is activated. The system waits until the combustion
begins, then it starts to load small amounts of ellets in order to raise the
tem erature of the fumes.
Button
Function Description
Sleeping
Mode
Pressing the button when the main screen is
active, the device will continue to function
but will “fall aslee ” thus reducing the battery
consum tion. To turn the remote control
back on again, ress again the button.
Standby
Mode
Pressing the button for 3 seconds from the
main screen, it is ossible to turn off the
transmitter thus reducing battery
consum tion. This feature is to be used
during a non use eriod of time of the
dis lay radio. To turn on again ress the
button again and ress twice the button.
On/Off Switch On/Off by ressing the button for 3

Run Mode
After the ignition, the system goes into Run Mode. During this hase the
heating fan is activated and the system o erates on the set combustion
ower level.
Modulation
During the Run mode, the aim of the stove is to reach the set room
tem erature, when this goal is achieved, the system goes into
Modulation where the fuel consum tion is minimal and the fan will run at
the lowest s eed ower setting.
Combustion power setting
It is ossible to modify the combustion ower level at any time, but the
change is effective only in Run Mode. The ower level ranges from 1 to
5. Increasing the ower equals to a high ellet consum tion and the
heating fan turning at high s eeds.
Note: Turn off the stove in case of damage or malfunction.
THE MENUS
To enter the remote control Menu, ress the SET button. A list of
Submenus will a ear. When memorizing a new set value, it is also
transmitted towards the stove.
Thermostats
Menu er for setting the radio and boiler thermostat used by the hydro
stove.

To access again the dis lay radio:
• First ress the button and then twice the
Radio Test: Menu that allows to check if there is a ro er transmission
between the dis lay radio con and the stove. The test verifies if there are
other transmitting devices o erating in the same environment.
When the function is activated, the dis lay radio transmits continuously
(Tx) and counts all signals received (Rx) and missed (Er).
In the following exam le we have:
Tx = 624 (Transmissions from the dis lay radio to the stove)
Rx = 611 (Successful rece tions of the signal from the stove)
Er = 11 (Missed transmissions not interce ted by the stove)
In this exam le we have a very good signal quality.
Change Code: The change code allows the dis lay radio to be
associated with a s ecific stove so that only one remote can o erate it
(in this way more transmitting systems can o erate in the same room). In
order to change the code:
• Highlight a new code in Change Code.
• Turn off the main switch of the stove.
• Press and kee ressed the SET button on the dis lay radio,
while at the same time turn the main switch back on and verify
the out come of the o eration.
If the word Tranfer Failed a ears, re eat the rocedure and select a
different code.

Chrono Menu (Cron)
This menu allows the setting the on/off switching time frames. There are
two o tions:
Modality (ModE)
Allows to enable the set rogram. Press the P3 button to enter edit
mode. With the P2/P4 buttons it is ossible to select one of the following:
OFF (deactivate), Gior (Daily), SEtt (Weekly), FiSE (Week End). Press
the P3 button again to confirm the set value. To exit/go back ress the
P1 button.
Chrono Program (PrOG)
Allows to select and rogram one of the following time frames.
Daily
Select Gior and ress the P3 button to access. With the P2/P4 buttons it
is ossible to select one of the rogrammed time frames.
Press with a sim le click the P3 button: the Dis lay D2 starts flashing. By
ressing the button several times again, it is ossible to change the
ower setting according to the available values. Eg: 1-2-3-4-5-A (A =
Automatic Combustion). After 3 seconds the new set value is saved
and the dis lay returns to its main screen.
Manual Pellet Loading
By ressing and holding the P3 button, the manual ellet loading
rocedure is activated where the auger turns continuously. The bottom
dis lay shows LoAd, the to one shows how much time the auger has
been turning. To sto the rocedure, ress any button. The loading
rocedure sto s automatically after 300 seconds.
Pellet Adjustment (models without FCS)
It is accessed by ressing and holding P2 button. The bottom dis lay
shows PELL, the to shows the set value. With the P2/P4 buttons it is
ossible to increase/decrease the value; the default value is 0. After 3
seconds the new value is saved and the dis lay returns to its main screen.
Combustion Air Adjustment (models without FCS)
It is accessed by ressing and holding the P4 button. The bottom dis lay
shows UEnt, the to one shows the set value. With the P2/P4 buttons, it
is ossible to increase/ decrease the value; the default value is 0. After 3
seconds the new set value is saved and the dis lay returns to its main
screen.

Make sure that in Modality (ModE) the item Gior (Daily) has been
selected.

set and rogram the time frames is the same as the Daily one. In the

Make sure that in Modality (ModE) the item SEtt (Weekly) has been
selected.

Select FiSE and ress the P3 button to enter. With the P2/P4 buttons it
is ossible to select one of the rogrammed time frames. The rocedure
to set and rogram the time frames is the same as the Daily one. In the
eek End rogram it is ossible to set 3 time frames that re eat
themselves for all days of the two selectable grou of days MF (from
monday to friday) or SS (from saturday to sunday).
Make sure that in Modality (ModE) the item FiSE (Week End) has been
selected.
Programming through the Midnight
Set the desired starting time of the revious day (Exam le: 20:30).
Set the turn off time for the revious day at 23:59. Set the starting time of
the next day at 00:00. Set the desired turn off time for the next day
(Exam le: 2:30).
The stove will turn on at 20:30 of the tuesday and turn off at 2:30 the
next wednesday.
