EN60079-0 Explos ve atmospheres - Part 0: Equ pment - General requ rements
Fiel of application
The person author zed to do the work s respons ble for the zones shar ng.
He must follow the norms EN 60079-31 and EN60079-14 (whenever the r appl cat on s poss ble).

A itional instructions
The present addendum nstruct on manual s relevant to the use of var able speed dr ves, equ pped w th electr c motor
( f ncluded n the purchase agreement), su table to be nstalled n an explos on danger area only dust 21-22 (ATEX) for
what concerns the spec f c nstruct ons for the electr c motor, reference should be made to the relevant manual released
by the manufacturer of the motor, wh ch s enclosed to the nstruct on manual.
•All the equ pment shall be properly earthed. The eff c ency of the earth connect ons shall be checked n the f nal
nstallat on.
•All the electr c motors and gearboxes shall be properly earthed. The eff c ency of the earth connect on shall be
checked n the f nal nstallat on.
•The User s respons ble for a “ver f cat on doss er” to show compl ance of electr cal equ pment and nstallat ons.
Refer IEC EN 60079-14 Electr c connect ons must exclus vely be carr ed out by spec al zed and sk lled staff n

External evices connection
AC s ngle phase power supply
Use the power supply w th n the l m ts allowed by
the nverter.
Earth leakage c rcu t
breaker (d fferent al)
Automat c d fferent al sw tch w th I∆n=30mA),
type B.
Type B d fferent al sw tches are recommended
for use w th dr ves and nverters, s nce they
recogn ze a cont nuous fault current w th a low
r pple rate.
L ne contactor
Useful to sw tch off the power supply f
commanded by a safety c rcu t. Not to be used to
start the system. Type AC1.
Protect on fuses
A fuse s a protect on aga nst short c rcu ts.
Instead, a magneto-thermal sw tch would be an
overload protect on based on absorbed current,
but th s protect on s already ncorporated n
NANO Ex.
L ne choke (Reactor)
Useful for mprov ng the power factor l m t ng the
harmon cs n l ne, or n the v c n ty of large power
systems (transformat on cab ns).
Compulsory when the d stance between motor
and nverter (see wall mount ng system) s h gher
than 50mt.
Moto nverter
The d rect connect on w th the motor cancels the
need for sh elded cables compared to a
convent onal nverter. In case of us ng NANO Ex
not on board, use sh elded cables and, f the
d stance to the motor exceeds 25mt, use a
reactor n ser es.
•The break ng short c rcu t dev ces pa red w th th s range must be at least 10KA, f nstalled n publ c power gr d.
When connect ng to a power gr d from a transformer substat on ded cated, you must know the value declared by
the suppl er of the l ne and use su table equ pment.
Manual Addendum NANO Ex page 4/8 REV.02
•It’s mandatory, for the category 2D/3D, connect the b metall c temperature probe [BTP] to an external protect on
dev ce upstream (for example a power l ne contactor) that sw tches off the nverter to avo d overheat ng of t wh ch
could generate mproper use.
Th s probe has two term nals for connect on located ns de the nverter.
Groun ing connections
•Yellow/green ground w re of the ma n supply cable to connect to one of four screws used to f x the nverter to the
motor.
•Ensure ground connect on of the motor nverter w th total res stance of less than 100 m ll ohm.
Warnings labels
•To clean w th wet or ant stat c cloth only.
•Do not open IP65 boxes when energ zed.
