INTRODUCTION
This Mot oMaster Naut ilus Batt ery Charger feat ures advanced technology t hat makes bat tery charging
faster, easier, and safer while helping to maximize the performance and life of your batteries.
This batt ery charger is designed for use on all types of 12-volt lead-acid batteries including Wet
(flooded), Maint enance-free (MF), Calcium (Ca), Enhanced Flooded (EFB), Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM),
and Gel. It is suitable for charging batteries rated from 10 to 300 Amp-hours and maintaining
batteries from 10 to 500 Amp- hours.
This manual will explain how t o use t he charger safely and effectively. Please read and follow t hese
instruct ions and precautions carefully.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
Read all instructions, warning, and cautions printed on t he bat tery charger, bat tery and vehicle or
equipment using bat tery.
DO NOT expose charger t o rain or snow.
Use of an at tachment not recommended or sold by t he batt ery charger manufacturer may result in a
risk of fire, electric shock, or injury t o persons.
To reduce risk of damage to electric plug and cord, pull by plug rather than cord when disconnecting
charger.
An extension cord should not be used unless absolut ely necesssary.
Use of an improper ext ension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock. If an extention cord
must be used, make sure:
The pins on plug of ext ension cord are the same number, size, and shape as those of plug on charger.
The extension cord is properly wired and in good elect rical condit ion.
The wire size is large enough for t he AC ampere rat ing of t he charger, as specified in t he chart on
the following page.
DO NOT operat e charger with damaged cord or plug—replace the cord or plug immediat ely.
DO NOT operat e charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or ot herwise damaged in any
way—take it to a qualified serviceman.
DO NOT disassemble the charger. Take it t o a qualified service professional if service or repair is
required. Incorrect assembly may result in fire or elect ric shock.
To reduce risk of elect ric shock, unplug charger from outlet before at tempt ing any maintenance or
cleaning. Turning off controls will not reduce t his risk.
WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF A LEAD-ACID BATTERY IS DANGEROUS. BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE
GASES DURING NORMAL BATTERY OPERATION. FOR THIS REASON, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE
THAT YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EACH TIME YOU USE THE CHARGER.
To reduce risk of bat tery explosion, follow t hese instructions and t hose published by batt ery
manufact urer and manufact urer of any equipment you int end to use in the vicinit y of t he batt ery.
Review cautionary markings on t hese product s and on engine.
Consider having someone close by to come to your aid when you work near a lead-acid bat tery.
Have plent y of fresh water and soap nearby in case batt ery acid contact s skin, clothing, or eyes.
Wear complete eye protect ion and clot hing prot ection. Avoid touching eyes while working near
batt ery.
If batt ery acid cont acts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and wat er. If acid ent ers eye,
immediat ely flood eye with running cold wat er for at least 10 minutes and get medical att ention
immmediately.
NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame in vicinit y of bat tery or engine.
Remove personal met al items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches when working with a
lead-acid bat tery. A lead-acid batt ery can produce a short-circuit current high enough to weld a ring
or the like t o met al, causing a severe burn.
Use charger for charging a LEAD-ACID batt ery only. It is not intended to supply power to a low volt age
electrical system ot her than in a st arter-mot or applicat ion. Do not use bat tery charger for charging
dry-cell bat teries that are commonly used wit h home appliances. These batt eries may burst and cause
injury to persons and damage t o property.
NEVER charge a frozen batt ery.

SAFETY
Take extra precautions to avoid dropping a met al t ool onto the bat tery. It may spark or creat e a short
circuit t hat can cause an explosion.
