1. Troubleshooting and Repair
1.1 POWER_UP SELF CHECK DISPLAYS througha self-testroutine to checkfor system failures. Table 7
lists the error messages that may appear in the display,
followed by the possible causes and remedies.
When you power up the radio, the control head goes

second each. When more than one condition is present, only one message will be displayed. New messages will be displayed as each condjtion is corrected.
Model A3 does not have this fail message.
N,4odel A3 does not have this display condition.
On Model 43, "OL" display indicates out--of-lock condition.
On Model A3, "EE" display indicates this EEPRONI condition.
On Nlodel A3, continuous cycling of "F1", "9", "99" indicates a serial number mismatch

UFAIL OO1 Radio has an error with its EEPROM; one
or more modes in the radio has an in-
correct pattern in the Memory Board
EEPROM. Radio will function normally
until a corrupted mode is accessed; then
"FAIL 002" will be displayed (see below).
a. Reprogram EEPROM from ARCHIVE file if
available. See paragraph 4.7.4, step 6a.
