Additional Features & Bene ts:
• Both machines feature mixed broadcast support, meaning
you can simultaneously transmit documents to both fax and
e-mail destinations.
• Deliver documents securely to an FTP site using the standard
scan to FTP feature. Up to 20 FTP shortcuts may be registered
to enable one-touch transmissions.
• Document memory back-up stores received fax documents in
memory for up to 34-hours during a power interruption.
• LDAP directory support allows you to search corporate directory
servers for contact information. These contacts may be registered
into the address book enabling future one-touch transmissions.
The MFX-2355D and MFX-2855D feature standard PC connectivity via a high-speed Ethernet connection, which enables seamless
document delivery to e-mail addresses, PC folders and FTP sites. Both devices also feature a high-speed 33.6 Kbps fax modem
which allows for reliable fax communication. The MFX-2855D also includes color scan capabilities which enables the delivery of
scanned data to a network connected color printer to create a unique color copying solution.
• All outbound fax and e-mail transmissions may be archived to
a network location to create an audit trail of communication.
• The scan-to-print monitor utility allows you to create color
copies using the MFX-2855D and a networked color printer.
Simply load your color document into the ADF, select a pre-
registered networked color printer from the MFX-2855D
touch screen and press [Start]. Up to 5 color printers may
be registered into the print monitor. The MFX-2855D will
transmit the scanned color image to the selected color printer
and the document will print.
Customizable Touch Screen
• “Soft Keys”, the functions located on the mode default screens, can be customized based on your preferences.
• Macro Keys allow for the programming of multi-step job programs into one-touch executable commands.
Interactive Voice Guidance System
• The interactive voice guidance system assists with job programming, reporting and error troubleshooting.
• Voice guidance is user-paced, meaning the next instruction will not be given until you have performed the
current instruction.
• Solution for guiding visually impaired users through machine operations.
Installation & Machine Management
• DHCP compliance allows you instantly connect the MFX-2355D and MFX-2855D to the network
(static IP assignment also available)
• The address book, network settings, document routing rules/locations and various other machine
settings may be registered via the intuitive web browser.
• Import address book locations from Microsoft Outlook (vCard) or through other contact management
databases (CSV).
• Send fax transmissions directly from any PC application using the Muratec fax driver. Users can select
recipients from the machine address book, perform a broadcast and more using the intuitive browser
interface.
Secure Access & Output
• Authenticate through Microsoft Active Directory to restrict access to the device and require the entry
of the domain user name and password prior to gaining machine access. An added advantage is the
ability to insert the user’s e-mail address in the “Reply To:” field on all outbound e-mail transmissions
(i.e. bob@muratec.com), which authenticates the transmission to the recipient.
• When authenticating over the network the traffic is encrypted using the Kerberos standard from RSA®.
• Secure reception suppresses fax receptions from printing until a passcode has been entered.
• Print on Demand allows users to retrieve frequently produced documents from a secure network folder
using the touch screen, eliminating the need to open and print documents from the desktop.
• Automatically forward fax receptions to an e-mail address or secure network folder, thus ensuring
document integrity while reduce operating expenses.
