SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• This machine can cause serious injuries. Read this manual carefully until you can completely understand and follow all safety and operating instructions.
• Always know how to stop the machine quickly in an emergency.
• Keep this manual for future reference. In cases you have any questions which cannot be answered herein, contact an authorised sales point.
• Always make sure that this manual is included in any sale, loan or other transfer of ownership of this product.
• Never allow children or anyone unable to fully understand the instructions given in the manual to use the machine.
Personal safety
1. When using the product, you should wear proper clothing and protecve equipment (helmet, ear protectors, protecon goggles or face shield, thick work
gloves, non-slip work boots).
2. You should always carry with you all aached tools, properly reserved fuel, spare blade, signs to indicate your working area (rope, warning signs), whistle
(for cooperaon or emergency), hatchet or saw (for removal of obstacles) and rst-aid kit.
3. Do not wear loose clothing, jewelry, short trousers, sandals, or go barefoot. Do not wear anything that might be caught by a moving part of the unit. Secure
hair above shoulder length.
4. Never use the product when under the inuence of medicaon, alcohol or other substances, when suering from exhauson, drowsiness or lack of sleep,
or at any other me when a possibility exists that your judgment might be impaired or that you might not be able to operate the product properly and in a
safe manner.
Working condions
1. Never start the engine inside a closed room or building. Exhaust gases contain dangerous carbon monoxide.
2. Never use the product when the ground is slippery or when you cannot maintain a steady posture.
3. Never use the product at night, at mes of heavy fog, or at any other mes when your eld of vision might be limited and it would be dicult to gain a clear
view of the working area.
4. Never use the product during a thunderstorm, lightning storm, high or gale force winds or any other me when weather condions may make it unsafe to
use the product.
Working schedule
When planning your work schedule, allow plenty of me to rest. Limit the amount of me over which the product is to be used connuously to somewhere
around 30 to 40 minutes per session, and take 10 to 20 minutes of rest between work sessions. Also try to keep the total amount of work performed in a single
day under 2 hours or less.
WARNING! If you do not observe the working schedule or correct working method, Repeve Stress Injury (RSI) could occur. If you feel discomfort,
noce redness and swelling of your ngers or any other part of your body, stop working and contact your doctor for further instrucons.
Check and comply with local regulaons regarding sound levels and hours of operaon for your machine.

Workplace safety
1. The area within a perimeter of 15 m of the person using the product should be considered a hazardous area and should not be entered by anyone. If
necessary, warning rope and signs should be placed around the perimeter. When work is to be performed simultaneously by two or more people, everyone
should constantly be aware of the presence and locaon of other people working and maintain a distance between each person sucient to ensure safety.
2. Check the condion of the working area to avoid any accident from hing hidden obstacles such as stumps, stones, cans, or broken glass.
3. Guard against hazardous situaons at all mes. Warn adults to keep pets and children away from the area. Be careful if you are approached. Injury may
result from ying debris.
4. If someone calls out or otherwise interrupts you while working, always be sure to turn o the engine before turning around.
Remove any obstacle before beginning to work.
Starng the engine
1. Keep bystanders especially children, and animals at least 15 m away from the operang point. If you are approached, immediately stop the engine.
2. Inspect the enre unit for loose fasteners and fuel leakage. Make sure that the cung aachment is properly installed and securely fastened.
3. The product is equipped with a centrifugal clutch mechanism, so the cung aachment might begin to rotate as soon as the engine is started. When starng
the engine, place the product onto the ground in a at clear area and hold it rmly in place so as to ensure that neither the cung part nor the throle come
into contact with any obstacle when the engine starts.
4. Aer starng the engine, check to make sure that the cung aachment stops rotang when the throle is moved fully back to its original posion. If it
connues to rotate even aer the throle has been moved fully back, turn o the engine and take the unit to your authorized servicing center for repair.
WARNING! Never place the throle into the high-speed posion when starng the engine. Never start the engine at the cung aachment side.
Cut only materials recommended by the manufacturer and use the product only for tasks described in the manual.
Using the machine
1. Grip the handles rmly with both hands using your whole hand. Place your feet slightly apart (slightly further apart than the width of your shoulders) so that
your weight is distributed evenly across both legs, and always be sure to maintain a steady, even posture while working.
2. Maintain the speed of the engine at the level required to perform cung work, and never raise the speed of the engine above the necessary level.
3. If the unit starts to shake or vibrate, turn o the engine and check the whole unit. Do not use it unl the problem has been properly corrected.
4. Keep all parts of your body away from rotang cung aachments and hot surfaces.
5. Never touch the muer, spark plug, or other metallic parts of the engine while the engine is in operaon or immediately aer shung down the engine.
Doing so could result in serious burns or electrical shock.
6. When operang the machine, always ensure a safe working posion, especially when using steps or a ladder.
Maintenance
1. In order to maintain your machine in proper working condion, perform the maintenance and inspecons described in the manual at regular intervals.
2. Always be sure to turn o the engine before performing any maintenance, inspecon procedures or working on the machine.
WARNING! The metallic parts reach high temperatures immediately aer stopping the engine.
3. When replacing the cung aachment or any other part, or when replacing the oil or any lubricant, always be sure to use only original parts or products
which have been cered by the manufacturer for use with your product.
4. In the event that any part must be replaced or any maintenance or repair work not described in this manual must be performed, please contact an authorized
service center for assistance.
5. Do not use any accessory or aachment other than those recommended for the unit by the manufacturer.
6. Do not disassemble or modify the product in any way. Doing so may result in damage to the product during operaon or may prevent the product from
operang properly.

Handling fuel
1. The engine of the product is designed to run on a mixed fuel, which contains highly ammable gasoline. Never store cans of fuel or rell the tank of the unit
in places where there is a boiler, stove, wood re, electrical sparks, welding sparks, or any other source of heat or ame which might ignite the fuel.
2. Never smoke while operang the unit or when relling its fuel tank.
3. When relling the tank, always turn o the engine and allow it to cool down. Take a careful look around to make sure that there are no sparks or open ames
anywhere nearby before refueling.
4. If fuel spills during refuelling, wipe up completely with a dry cloth.
5. Aer refueling, screw the fuel cap ghtly back onto the fuel tank and move the unit at least 3 m away from the refueling area before starng the engine.
6. Fuel vapours are toxic and must not be inhaled.
Transportaon
1. When carrying the product by hand, cover the cung aachments if necessary, li up the product and carry it paying aenon to the blade.
2. Never transport the product over rough roads or over long distances by vehicle without removing all fuel from the fuel tank. Doing so may cause fuel to leak
from the tank during transport.
FUEL
Mixing of fuel
RECOMMENDED MIXING RATIO: 30 ml of Oil to 1 lt of Gasoline
Mix a regular gasoline (leaded or unleaded, alcohol-free) and a quality-proven motor oil for air cooled 2 cycle engines.
1. Measure out the quanes of gasoline and oil to be mixed.
2. Put some of the gasoline into a clean, approved fuel container.
3. Pour in all of the oil and agitate well for 10 seconds.
4. Pour in the rest of gasoline and agitate again for at least one minute. As some oils may be dicult to agitate depending on oil ingredients, sucient agitaon
is necessary. Be aware that if the agitaon is insucient, there is an increased danger of early piston seizure due to abnormally lean mixture.
5. Place a clear indicaon on the outside of the container to avoid mixing up with gasoline or other containers that do not contain oil. Mark the contents on
the outside of the container for easy idencaon.
Fueling the unit
1. Unscrew and remove the fuel cap. Place the cap on a clean surface.
2. Put fuel into the fuel tank to 80% of the full capacity.
3. Fasten the fuel cap securely and wipe clean any fuel spillage around the unit.
WARNING! Gasoline is very ammable. Avoid smoking or bringing any ame or sparks near fuel. Make sure to stop the engine and allow it cool
before refueling the unit. Choose a clean, open area for refueling and move at least 3 m away from the refueling point before starng the engine.
Gasoline/Oil Mixture storage recommendaons
Store your gasoline or gasoline/oil mixture in a cool dry area in a ghtly sealed approved container to limit the entry of moisture and addional air
(oxygen). Moisture and air cause varnish and resin to form, making the fuel stale. Stored gasoline and gasoline/oil mixtures will age and lose their
octane rang and volality. Do not mix more gasoline & oil than you intend to use in 30 days.
WARNINGS!
1. Select at and bare ground for fueling.
2. Move at least 3 meters away from the fueling point before starng the engine.
3. Stop the engine before refueling the unit. Make sure that the mixed fuel in the tank is suciently agitated.
AVOID:
1. Fuel with no oil (raw gasoline) – It will cause severe damage to the internal engine parts very quickly.
2. Gasohol – It can cause deterioraon of rubber and/or plasc parts and disrupon of the engine’s lubricaon.
3. Oil for 4-cycle engine use – It can cause spark plug fouling, exhaust port blocking, or piston ring seizure.
4. Mixed fuels which have been le unused for a period of one month or more may clog the carburetor and result in the engine failing to operate
properly.
• In the case of storing the product for a long period of me, clean the fuel tank aer emptying it. Then, start the engine and run the carburetor
to dry all residual fuel.
• Dispose of the used mixed oil container at an authorised collecon point.

Read the details of the product warranty carefully. Normal wear and tear and changes to the product that do not aect its operaon are not covered
by the warranty. Please also note that failure to use the product in accordance with the instrucons in the owner’s manual regarding the type of
gasoline, oil and fuel to be used may void the warranty.
OPERATION
1. When rst starng up aer pung fuel into the machine, push the priming pump unl fuel runs out in the clear tube. Then close the choke. This may not be
necessary when re-starng right aer stopping the engine.

2. Pull the throle lever and push the lock buon to set the lever in the START posion. (Fig. 2)

3. Slide the ignion switch to the engine side to set it in the ON posion. (Fig. 3)
4. Place the unit on a stable, clean surface. Pull the starter knob quickly. (Fig. 4)
Note: Avoid pulling the rope to its end or returning it by releasing the knob. Such acons can cause starter failures.
5. When the engine has started, gradually open the choke.
6. Allow the engine to warm up for a half minute before starng operaon.
Note: If the engine will not start aer several aempts, open the choke and repeat pulling the rope or remove the spark plug and dry it.
Stopping the engine (Fig. 5)
1. Release the throle lever and run the engine at idling speed for a half minute.
2. Slide the ignion switch to the STOP Posion (1).
WARNING! Keep the blades away from any foreign surface as they will start moving upon starng of the engine.

Except in emergencies, avoid stopping the engine while pulling the throle lever.
If the engine does not stop when the ignion switch is turned to the stop posion, close the choke and stop the engine. If this happens, have the
machine repaired by an authorised service agent.
Adjusng idling speed
1. When the engine tends to stop frequently at idling mode, turn the idle set screw clock-wise. (Fig. 6)

2. When the cung blades keep moving aer releasing the throle trigger, turn the idle set screw counter-clockwise.
Note: Warm up the engine before adjusng the idling speed.

Using the machine
• This machine is designed to cut branches up to 28 mm thick. Cung too thick branches or metal wires can not only break the blade teeth but also damage
the drive mechanism.
• When trimming leaves and thin twigs, guide the blades in a semicircle on the surface for a beer nish.
• Running the engine at high speed with jammed blades can shorten the life of the clutch parts. If the blades are blocked by thick twigs, stop working
immediately and pull the unit away from the objects aer stopping the engine. When cung relavely thick branches, move the unit slowly back and forth
like a saw, and they can be cut to a ne nish.
•Note: When a new unit is used for the rst me, grease may leak from the gear case during the rst few minutes. This is excess grease there is no cause for
alarm. Wipe it o the next me you use the unit with the engine stopped.

Trimming techniques
Trim sides of a hedge rst, and then the top.
Vercal cut (Fig. 7):
With the 2-sided blade model, use an arcing cut from the boom upwards, then downwards
to use both sides of the blades.
Horizontal cut (Fig. 8):
For best results, lt the blade slightly (5°-10°) towards the cung direcon. Cut slowly,
especially when cung thick hedges.
WARNING! Always follow the safety instrucons. The hedge trimmer must only be used to trim hedges or small bushes. It is forbidden to cut other
types of material. Do not use the hedge trimmer as a lever to li, move or break objects, or to aach to xed supports. It is forbidden to aach tools
or aachments to the hedge trimmer that are not specied by the manufacturer. Do not use it to trim trees or cut grass.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Make sure that the engine has stopped and is cool before performing any service to the machine. Contact with a moving cung blade
or a hot muer may result in a personal injury.
Air lter (Fig. 9)
The air lter (1), if clogged, will reduce the engine performance. Check and clean the lter element in warm, soapy water as required. Dry completely before
installing. If the lter is broken or shrunk, replace with a new one.
Fuel lter (Fig. 10)
If the engine is running low on fuel, check that the fuel ller cap and fuel lter (1) are not clogged.
Spark plug (Fig. 11)
Failure to start and misring are oen caused by a dirty spark plug. Clean the spark plug and check that the gap is in the correct range. When replacing the
spark plug, use the correct type (LD L8RTF).
• Note that using any spark plug other than those specied may result in malfuncon or overheang and damage to the engine.
• To install the spark plug, rst turn the plug unl it is nger ght, then ghten it a quarter turn further with a socket wrench.
Tightening Torque: 87~121 in-lbs (9.8~13.7 Nm)

Muer
WARNING! Inspect periodically the muer for loose fasteners, any damage or corrosion. If any sign of exhaust leakage is found, stop using the
machine and have it repaired immediately. Failure to do so may cause the engine to catch re.
Spark arrester (Fig. 12)
The muer is equipped with a spark arrester (1) to prevent red hot carbon from ying out of the exhaust outlet. Periodically inspect and clean as necessary
with a wire brush.
Intake air cooling vent (Fig. 13)
Clean the cylinder ns with compressed air or a brush.

WARNING! Never touch the cylinder, muer, or spark plugs with your bare hands immediately aer stopping the engine. The engine can become
very hot when in operaon, and doing so could result in severe burns.
If debris gets stuck and forms a blockage around the intake air vent or between the cylinder ns, it can cause the engine to overheat, resulng
in mechanical failure of the hedge trimmer.
Blades (Fig. 14)
Oil blades aer each gas tank lling.
The blade assembly is designed to automacally compensate for any play between the blades.
WARNING! Make sure that the blade bolts are well ghtened.
Sharpening (Fig. 15)
Always hold the le or sharpener at a 45° angle to the blade. Always sharpen in the direcon of the cung edge.
Note:
• Files cut only in one direcon. Li the le from the blade when returning to start a new pass.
• Use a grindstone to remove any burr from the edge of the blade.
• Remove as lile material as possible.
• Before reng the sharpened blades, remove lings and then apply grease.
• Do not try to sharpen a damaged blade, change it or take it to an authorised service center.

Gearbox greasing (Fig. 16)
Rell gearbox housing every 25 working hours. Use greese pump. Feed greese unl it comes out of the base of blades.
Procedures to be performed aer every 100 hours of use
1. Remove the muer (Fig. 17), insert a screwdriver into the exhaust port and wipe away any carbon deposits. At the same me, wipe away any carbon build-up
on the exhaust port of the muer and the cylinder exhaust port.
2. Tighten all screws, bolts, and ngs.
3. Check that no oil or grease has penetrated between the clutch lining and drum and, if so, wipe o with oil-free, lead-free gasoline.
Maintenance Chart
STORAGE
1. Oil the blade to prevent rust.
2. Empty the fuel tank and put the cap back on.
3. Remove the spark plug, pour a small amount of oil into the cylinder.
4. Rotate the cranksha several mes using the starng rope in order to distribute the oil. Put the spark plug back in.
5. Wrap the engine with a plasc sheet.
6. Store the trimmer in a dry place, preferably not in direct contact with the oor and away from heat sources.
DISPOSAL
When disposing your machine, fuel or oil for the machine, be sure to allow your local regulaons.
