NARAK CROSS 475
Instruction Book
• Get your parts out of the bag and display them on a flat and clean
surface.
Your Narak Cross kit is composed of : 1- skin. 2- stern part.
3- bow part. 4- rear crossribs (blue marks). 5- front crossribs (red
marks). 6- aluminum frame tubes. 7- footrests. 8- inflatable seats. not
shown on the picture : wood cockpit rim (4 parts).

• Start by assembling all the tubes
• Find the keel tube (without ends)
• Align all the red marks on the other tubes.
• This way at the other end you identify two long tubes (upper
tubes) and two short ones (lower tubes)
Take the bow part and slide it into the keel tube (red marks)
• Clip crossribs n° 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 on the keel
tube. Red marks go the front, blue marks
to the rear. All marks below on starboard.
Don’t put in place crossrib n°1.
• After fixing the stern part to the keel tube, take the two longer
tubes and put them on the top nipples. (slide the blue collars).
• Clip the crossrib n°6 with the top tubes (below) and do the same for
crossribs n°5, 4, 3 and 2.
• Connect the
tubes to the bow
part.
• You can now
put in place
crossrib n°1
• Start again from the stern and clip the two lower tubes to the
crossribs, up to the bow.
• Put the top tubes in place, front and rear. The frame assembly is
finished.
• Veillez à ce que le trou de l’embout soit aligné :
en fin de montage une vis devra passer à travers.
FOOTREST TUNING
When assembling for the first time your kayak, you have to
adjust the footrests, connected to the seats.
The footrests will be clipped to the
keel tube.
Put it in place, approx 1 meter in front
of the seat.
Inflate the seat and put it in the kayak. Tie the rear straps around the crossrib.
Do the same at the front with the nar-
row straps.
Seat into the kayak and adjust the straps to the legth of your legs.
Connect the footrest to the seat with
the large straps.
• Slide the frame into the skin.
• Be careful that the frame has to be
perfectly centered in the skin : the
top tube has to be aligned with the
black triangle on deck.
• Push the frame in the skin to the
max, so that the eyelet is almost over
the top tube hole.
ASSEMBLY FOLLOWING
• At the rear, push the stern towards the ground to get the frame
in the skin. The «shark tooth» (red arrow) has to be released off the
stern part (pull the pin).
• Attach the lateral straps below the cockpit rim. the two straps have
to go over the top tube (red arrow), then one of them go around the
lower tube, thenthey are attached together.
• Tie the last remaining strap (below the cockpit), which goes over
the tubes.
• Prepare for tensioning the frame : put the «shark tooth» in its
gauge, get the cord out and the lever.
• Push at the same time with your foot on the shark tooth and pull
with your arm on the cord. The pin will automatically block the tooth
in place when it’s OK.
• Zip the rear deck and put the velcros together.
• Fold the zip end along the stern.
STERN
• Fold the first part of the cover, then
the second.
• Tie the straps.
COCKPIT RIM
• Get the 4 screw heads passing
through the eyelets.
• Put in place the rear half-hoop, put
the screw (in the bag pocket), through
the top bar and screw the butterfly nut.
• Slide the side barsinto the half-hoop
(red marks at the front, blue at the
rear).
• Clinch the cockpit rim on the screw
heads.
• Finish the coskpit assembly with the
front half-hoop, with its screw like the
rear one.
• Put in place the seat (see footrest tuning pages)
• Inflate the stailairs (low pressure).
Your Narak Cross is ready to hit the
water !
• Get the hem
of the skin into
the cockpit rim
gauge.
• Run the lifting cord
on the side of the kayak
to its hook on starboard.
• Pull the pin of the
rudder and get the
rudder on the bracket.
• Slide off the mobile ring.
MISE EN PLACE DU GOUVERNAIL (option)
• On the tiller, get the
shackle off.
• Push the pin in place so
that the rudder is now
connected to the kayak.
• You can now get the
tiller through the hole
in the rudder.
• Put the ring back in place. • Put back the shackle
• Put in place
the foot control
plate in front of
the rear seat. Clip
it on the central
tube.
• Connect the plate to the
seat straps. Adjust to your
legs length.
• Connect the rudder lines to the
pedals. Adjust so that the lines are in
tension with pedals upright
• Kayak maintenance : rince your boat on the inside and outside
after each outing at sea. Rub with a sponge to get the salt away.
Wash it with soapy water if necessary. Dry it carefully before storing
it in its bag for a long period of time. Apply silicone or other spray to
prevent corrosion inside the tubes.
• Disassembly of the kayak : do the other way round. Deflate
the stabilairs. Get the cockpit rim off. Unzip the rear deck. Untie the
three straps (sides and rear of the cockpit) that tie the skin to the
frame. At the stern, pull on the pin that block the «shark tooth». Pull
the tooth with the cord. Get the frame out of the skin. Disassemble
the tubes and the crossribs.
Fold the skin on its side, the deck on the inside. The kayak has to be
dry, if you have to fold it with still water on it, don’t delay to get it out
of its bag to avoid moisture.
