You have just purchased a NOOK Nautiraid! Congratulations !
By following these assembly instructions, you will assemble your
NOOK without difficulty, you will live a unique experience and
appreciate the technical construction of a NAU IRAID kayak.
Your NOOK’s bag contains :
1-Front half frame 2-Front half frame extension 3-Removable
front deck stringer (x2) 4-Skin 5-Floor 6-Cockpit rim (+2 screw
et 1 Allen spanner) 7-Footbraces 8-Seat 9-Rib n°4 (masik) 10-
Floating bag (x2) 11-Rear half frame 12-Rear half frame

• Start to unfold the front half frame
• Turn the first crossrib 90° (below) and secure its position with the little straps.

• Take the front half frame extension (red marks) and connect it to the front half
frame.
• Take the keel bar and insert it with a few degrees of angle (besides). nce in place a
metal stopper holds the two pieces in place (blue arrow).

• Connect the deck top stringers and turn the metal locker to block them together
• Set up the 2nd and 3rd crossrib.

• Secure the two removable front deck stringers with their pins.
• The front frame is assembled, install the footrest with the 2 wing nuts.
• Proceed the same assembly instructions for the rear frame

• CAUTION!!! it is very important to leave the crossrib n° 5 on the rear frame OPEN
to facilitate the assembly. It ill come into place once the frame is installed in the skin.
Be sure to leave it open as sho n in the follo ing photo, in order to respect the
direction of rotation of the crossrib.
• Positionner les deux réserves de flottabilités avant et arrière et gonfler les sans trop de
pression.
• Enfilez le faisceau avant dans la peau.
• Install the front and rear flotaing bags and inflate them without excessive pressure.
• Get the front half frame in the s in.
• Step over the aya or put a foot in it to push the frame down into the s in
Ma e sure that your frame is perfectly centred in the s in. Your reference point is the
eyelet of the s in with the eyelet of the framewor . They must be perfectly aligned.

• Do the same for the rear leaving crossrib no. 5 open
• Take the gunwales in both hands and pull them towards the centre of the boat,
bending the gunwales.
•
Apply tension to the keel bar. put the
keel into the lever.
•
Push the lever down to make the
tension. Turn the locker 90° to secure the
lever (below).

• Release the gunwhales once connected. Do the same for the stringers (below).
• ut the back crossrib in its place. Swing it around, taking care to position the
gunwhales and stringers in their notches. Secure the crossrib with the small straps, port
and starboard. To secure the starboard strap, put your hand through the crossrib, the
attachment is behind this crossrib.

• Then install the last cross rib, No. 4 (or masik), always taking care to position each
stick in its notch as below.
• Secure your masik with the wooden wedge.
• Install the 2 pieces of wood by sliding them behind the stainless steel hooks

• Install the floor in the bottom of your kayak and secure it with the stainless steel
bracket.
• resent the coaming and pass the two screws through the eyelets in the skin and deck
rods. Start at the front of the coaming with the screw that fits into an insert using the
Allen key provided. The rear coaming screw goes through the coaming and is tightened
with a butterfly (2nd picture)
• ut the hem of the skin into the cockpit rim gauge.

Install and adjust your seat to
your liking
.

Your NOOK is ready to go!
• Disassembling the kayak: proceed in the reverse order of assembly,
scrupulously respecting the order of handling:
-Remove the seat and the floor.
-Remove the cockpit rim from the back to the front.
-Remove the masik (crossrib n°4)
-Remove les épontilles
-Release crossrib no. 5 (the one behind the seat) and rotate it to the same
position as during assembl . (Ke step for eas disassembl )
-Disassemble the gunwhales and stringers b pulling them towards the centre
of the boat.
-Release the keel tensioner.
Take the ka ak b the front point and shake it to separate the skin to the frame : it will
be easier to get the frame out of the skin. Pull out the front frame. Do the same for the
rear. Dismantle the frame.
Fold the skin over onto its side with the deck folded down inside. The ka ak should be
dr , if ou have to store it while it is still wet, do not dela in unfolding it and dr ing it
to avoid the appearance of mould.
• Kayak maintenance : rince our boat on the inside and outside after
each outing at sea. Rub with a sponge to get the salt awa . Wash it with
soap water if necessar . Dr it carefull before storing it in its bag for a
long period of time.
