Chapter 2 Preparations
2.1 Installation
The FDI-BS 350 wireless intercom system and accessories could be installed in
standard chassis, box, and cabinet.
2.2 AC Input Power Requirements
FDI-BS 350 consists of a switching power supply, The operating voltage of the device
is AC 110V/220V, it should be earthed correctly to ensure safety.
2.3 Grounded
Well grounded is required, power plug has to be connected to a grounded
receptacle. Otherwise it may cause permanent damage to the device.

Chapter 3 Indicators and Interfaces
3.1 Front Panel

device is started. Press again the device is turned off.

You can talk to any person or groups no more than 8 at the
same time by pressing certain digital buttons.

Use headphone to speak and listen.
Use gooseneck shaped microphone to speak
Beltpacks isolated mode. Turn on the button light, all
beltpacks are unable to talk with each other except base
station.
Group mode. Turn on the button light, now the digital
keypad numbers indicate group numbers. Each group could
talks internally, but unable to talk with other groups.
Base station notices beltpacks. The selected beltpacks
screen will flash when pressing the key continuously.
Base station speaker button. The speaker is turned on when
the button light is on.

LED light
RUN light, the light flashes slowly when the device is
working normally. When the light is off, the device is not
working properly. Please contact the after-sales services.
TX light. The TX light flashes when the base station sends
voice signal / tally signal / control signal.
RX light. The RX light flashes when the base station receives
the signal.

VOLUME
Adjust volume of the headset/speaker. Screw clockwise to
enlarge volume.

SPEAKER
When using a gooseneck shaped or handhold microphone,
sound could be played by SPEAKER.

Chapter 4 Cable Connection & Interface
4.1 Headset Connector
When the front panel Headset light is on, it means that the headset function is enabled,
and the user is able to speak and listen.
4.2 MIC Connector
When the front panel MIC light is on, it indicates that the gooseneck shaped
microphone input function is enabled. The user is able to speak.
4.3 ANT Antenna Interface
Connect the antenna to the ANT connector on the rear panel. Place the antenna
correctly after installation.
4.4 COM Port
This port is to be connected with computer by a data configuration cable. You could

change configurations, such as channel.
It also supports tally signal input with RS232/RS485/RS422 type.
4.5 Tally Connector
Connect video switcher via dedicated Tally cable. This connector supports GPI type tally
input.
Pin 1-12 indicates PGM/red signal, pin 14-25 indicates PVW/green signal, pin 13 is
GND.
Dedicated tally data cable is required by certain brand and model/type of video switchers.
It is recommended to use the corresponding tally data cable made by the manufacturer.
When working with a different switcher, it is advised to confirm with the supplier about the
tally date cable mode. Improper use of the data cable or incorrect connection may cause
permanent damage to the device.
4.6 AUX IN
3-pin cannon receptacle connector. The input level of the analog speech signal shall
be 1Vrms.

3-pin cannon connector. The input level of the analog speech signal shall be
1Vrms.
4.8 Power Connection
Each unit is attached with a power cable, which is used to connect AC 110V/220V
power supply with grounded receptacle.
Chapter 5 Basic Operations(Calling process)
5.1 Introduction to call operation
Press or button of base station, the lights are on. The base station could
talk through headphone or microphone. Press again, the lights are off. The base
station only receive audio signal.
5.2 Call Selected Belt-packs
Press button, make sure the light is off. Now the number 1 to 8 indicates 8
belt-packs. You could choose one or more belt-packs to speak with.
5.2.1
Belt-packs Selected
Press one or more digital keypad buttons of 1-8 on the base station, the button
lights of the selected belt-packs are on.
All selected belt-packs and base station could talk with each other. (Refer to Section
5.4)
5.2.2
Belt-pack Unselected

The base station could turn off one or more of the digital keypad buttons 1-8.
The unselected belt-packs could send a voice signal request to base station, but
cannot send or receive voice signals. The flashing light on the base station
indicates that the corresponding belt-pack is on the call.
5.3 Group Calling
In a specific scenario, the belt-packs need to be divided into many groups according to
the department. All belt-packs of a group could only talk internally without disturbing
other groups.
Push button, the 1-8 number buttons indicate 8 groups, and the device
supports up to 8 groups. Push the button again to exit the group mode.
5.3.1
Groups Selected
Base stations could talk with one or more groups by turning on corresponding digital
button lights. All belt-packs of selected groups could talk with base station and talk with
each other in the same group, but could not talk with other which in different group.
5.3.2
Groups Unselected
Base stations could disable one or more groups by turning off corresponding digital
button lights. An unselected group could talk internally but unable to talk with base
station.
5.4 Isolated Mode
Isolated mode could be enabled by turning on the button light. Now the
belt-packs could not talk with each other except base station.
5.5 Change Settings
Press button down and hold for 5 seconds, and release it up, to enter the
configuration mode. In configuration mode, Press button will switch to next

menu, press button to change setting. The menu includes channel setting,
background noise level, noise suppression level, reset all settings and exit
configuration mode. After change you should restart the base station to load the
new configurations.
5.5.1 Channel Setting
The base station includes 90 channels, press button to change channel as
voice hint. The setting will be saved while no continue operation within 4 seconds.
5.5.2 Background Noise Level
The base station may transmit voice and background noise to belt-packs. Base
station could suppress the background noise at a certain level. The default setting
is level 1. You could change the level by pressing the button. Notes that the
default settings are well tested, if not necessary please do not change the setting.
Otherwise the voice may be interrupted with wrong setting.
5.5.3 Noise Suppression Level
The setting allows the base station to suppress a certain level of the
background noise transmitted from the belt-packs if they are not speaking. The
default setting is level 5. (Suppress the noise lower than 5%. The level is adjustable
by clicking the setting button.

Attenuator
Sometimes some video switcher, vidicom, SDI
cables, HDMI cable or mixer with bad EMI
design, may be influenced by RF signal. You
have to attach an attenuator to base station
to compatible with them. While the working
distance will be short.
Chapter 7 Maintenance and Cleaning
Please read the following contents carefully in order for smoothly operation, long
service life, better daily maintenance and cleaning.
Maintenance
Do not use hard material to puncture or scrape device.
Do not put device in hard corrosive environment that may damage circuits.
Do not break the antenna.
Cleaning
Please wipe the dust on the device with clean dry towel or brush.
If the device is dirty, please clean with neutral detergent and non-woven fabric,
do not use detergent, alcohol, spray and other chemical agents to avoid the
damage of the device. Make sure that the device is dry thoroughly before using.

Chapter 8 Quality Commitment and Maintenance Terms
We promises warranty services for material and manufacturing process defect
under normal operation since purchase date.

You have to provide product warranty card or valid purchase invoice to apply
repair. The product mark should be kept clean and intact during the warranty
period.
