Important Safety Instructions
Pleasereadthefollowinginstructionscarefully.Thismanualshouldbe
retainedforfutureuse.
1. TocleanLCDMonitorscreen;
‐‐PoweroffLCDMonitorandunplugtheACCord.
‐‐Sprayanon‐solventcleaningsolutionontoarag.
‐‐Gentlycleanthescreenwithdampenedrag.
2. DonotplacetheLCDMonitornearawindow.Exposingthe
monitortorainwater,moistureorsunlightcanseverelydamageit.
3. DonotapplypressuretotheLCDscreen.Excesspressuremay
causepermanentdamagetothedisplay.
4. Donotremovethecoverorattempttoservicethisunitbyyourself.
Servicingofanynatureshouldbeperformedbyanauthorized
technician.
5. StoreLCDMonitorinaroomwitharoomtemperatureof‐20°~
60°C(or‐4°~140°F).StoringtheLCDMonitoroutsidethisrange
couldresultinpermanentdamage.
6. Ifanyofthefollowingoccurs,immediatelyunplugyourmonitor
andcallanauthorizedtechnician.
•MonitortoPCsignalcableisfrayedordamaged.
•LiquidspilledintoLCDMonitororthemonitorhasbeen
exposedtorain.
•LCDMonitororthecaseisdamaged.

Unpacking BeforeunpackingtheLCDMonitor,prepareasuitableworkspacefor
yourMonitorandcomputer.Youneedastableandcleansurfaceneara
wallpoweroutlet.MakesurethatLCDMonitorhasenoughspace
arounditforsufficientairflow.ThoughtheLCDMonitorusesvery
littlepower,someventilationisneededtoensurethattheMonitordoes
notbecometoohot.
AfteryouunpacktheLCDMonitor,makesurethatthefollowingitems

Ifyoufindthatanyoftheseitemsismissingorappearsdamaged,
contactNCRimmediately.

LCD Monitor and Base
ConnecttheLCDMonitortothebase.
Adjustment
TheLCDMonitorisdesignedtoallowuserstohaveacomfortable
viewingangle.Theviewinganglecanbeadjustedfrom‐5°to+30°.
Warning: Do not force the LCD Monitor over its maximum viewing
angle settings as stated above. Attempting this will result in damaging the
Monitor and Monitor stand.

1. Removethescrews(2)fromthehingebracket
2. RemovethestandfromLCDmonitor
Interface for Arm Applications
Therearofthedisplayhasfourintegrated4mm,0.7pitch‐threaded
nuts,aswellasfour5mmaccessholesintheplasticcovering,which
meet the VESAFlatPanelMonitorPhysicalMountingInterfaceStandard
specifications (paragraphs 2.1 and 2.1.3, version 1, dated 13 November 1997).

Connecting the Display to the POS Terminal
1. PoweroffthePOSterminal.
2. ConnectthesignalcabletotheVGAportsonthe5942andthePOS
terminal.
3. Makesuretheconnectionsaresecure.
Attention:Thisdevicemustbeconnectedtoanoff‐the‐shelfvideo
cableinordertocomplywithFCCregulations.Aferrite‐coreinterface
cableisincludedintheLCDMonitorpackage.Thisdevicewillnotbe
incompliancewithFCCregulationsifanon‐ferrite‐corevideocableis
used.
Connecting the AC Power
1. Connectthepowercordtothe5942ACPowerJackandtoanAC
powersource.

1. ConnecttheaudiocabletotheAudioJackthe5942(LineIn)and
thePOSterminal(LineOut).
Power Management System
ThisLCDMonitorcomplieswiththeVESADPMS(version1.0)Power
Managementguidelines.TheVESADPMSprovidesfourpowersaving
modesthroughdetectingahorizontalorverticalsync.signal.
WhentheLCDMonitorisinpowersavingmode,themonitorscreen
willbeblankandthepowerLEDindicatorwilllightyellow.

disabledatthefactory.

FunctionSelect(>)buttonforthreeseconds.Amessageisdisplayed
indicatingtheOSDUnlocked.
Disabling the OSD Menus (Locked)

FunctionSelect(>)buttonforthreeseconds.Amessageisdisplayed
indicatingtheOSDLockedOut.
Adjusting the Display
ToaccessOSDMainmenu,pressoneoftheFunctionSelectbuttons
andthemenudiagramwillbedisplayed.
ContinuepressingtheFunctionSelectbuttonstoscrollthroughthe
entiremenuofitems.ThenpresstheAdjustmentbuttonstoadjust
contentofselecteditem.
