Replacement Part Guide – Scale

The following steps will guide you through the removal of the scale and the installation of a new scale.

Replacing The Scale
1. Ensure the machine is in
sleep mode. The power
indicator light will be
amber.
5. Remove the new scale and shipping label from
the shipping package.
2. Disconnect the power
cable from the wall
outlet. This will turn off
the IM | IS-280 iMeter™
postage meter.
6. Place the old scale into the same shipping
package. Seal the package with packing tape
(not provided). Apply the prepaid label to the
package over the old shipping label.
3. Remove the scale’s
cable from the
component cavity.
7. Connect the new
scale’s cable to the
port of the IM | IS-280
iMeter™ postage
meter.
4. Disconnect the old
scale’s cable from the
port of the IM | IS-280
iMeter™ postage meter.
8. Tuck the new scale’s
cable into the
component cavity.

9. Place the new scale
onto the system
aligning the scale’s
feet with the
indentations on the
base.
10. Connect the power
cable to the wall
outlet. This will
turn on the IM | IS-
280 iMeter™
postage meter.
Testing The Scale By Connecting To The Online Server
1. Press the Sleep/Wake
button. The power
indicator light will
become green.
6. The machine is
preparing for the
generic call.
Do not interrupt
this process.
2. From the
Homescreen, press
the “MENU” button.
7. The machine is
connecting to the
server.
3. Press the down arrow
button until “Online
Services” is
highlighted.
8. The transaction is
in progress.
4. Once “Online
Services” is
highlighted, press the
“OK” button.
9. The generic call
finished
successfully.
Press the “OK”
button to return to
the Homescreen.
5. Press the down arrow
button to highlight
“Generic Call”.
Press the “OK”
button.
If you fail to return the old scale within ten business
days, you will be charged the full replacement
value of the scale.
