emissionsrequirements.EGRworksbyrecirculatingaportionoftheengineexhaustgassesbackintotheengine
combustionchambertolowercombustiontemperatures.
ThemaincomponentsoftheEGRsysteminclude:

•DieselOxidationCatalyst(DOC)
•ParticulateMatterCatalyst(PMCat)

•Throttlevalveactuator
WhatisaParticulateMatterCatalyst(PMCat)?
APMCatisahighefciencyowthroughlterthatworksbasedonanopenowdesigntoallowexhaustgasesto
passthrough.Itismadeupofalternatinglayersofcorrugatedmetalfoilonaporousmetaleece.Theltercaptures
particulatematterlongenoughforcatalyticoxidation.Bydesign,aPMCatcannotplugup,creatingnoriskofan
uncontrolledregeneration.
Howdoesitwork?
WhenexhaustenterstheDOC,manychemicalreactionsoccur.NitricOxide(NO)gasenterstheDOCtobeoxidized
tonitrogendioxide(NO2).Whenitenterstheparticulatemattercatalyst,NO2oxidizestheparticulatematter,creating
acontinuous,efcient,passiveregeneration.Thisreactionoccursbestbetween220-480°C(428-896°F).
Whatiftheexhaustisn’twarmenough?
Aspecialenginemanagementsystemhasbeendesignedforoffroadapplicationstomaintaintheefciencyofthepar-
ticulatemattercatalyst,eveninsituationssuchasprolongedidling,orlow-loadapplications.Duringthesescenarios,
theenginemanagementsoftwarewillactivateanexhausttemperaturemanagementmodetomaintaintheefciency
ofsootreduction.Inthismode,theexhaustgastemperatureiscontrolledviamanagementofmultipleinjectionsand
controloftheairsystem.Thisdesignenhancespassiveregenerationinlowloadconditions,andreducestheneed
foranincineratingregeneration.
Manualregeneration
Ifthethermalmanagementsystemisdisabledforprolongedperiodsoftime,dependingonexhausttemperatures,soot
maybuildupwithintheparticulatemattercatalyst.Ifthesootbuild-upreachesextremelevels,amanualregeneration
initiatedbytheoperatormaybenecessary.Thisisenabledthroughtheinstrumentcluster,andtakesabout15min.
Forthesereasons,itisrecommendedtohavethethermalmanagementsystemremainenabledunlessthetractoris
inhighre-riskconditions.

manufactureandthatitisfreefromdefectsinworkmanshipormaterialwhichwouldcauseitnottomeetthese
regulationsforaperiodof:
•2yearsor1500hofoperation,whicheveroccursrst,forengineslessthan19kW(25Hp).
•5yearsor3000hofoperation,whicheveroccursrst,forenginesgreaterthanorequalto19kW(25Hp).
NOTE:ThiswarrantyappliestoallunitsoperatedintheUnitedStatesorCanada.
Coverage
Themodelyear,classofdieselengine,andemissionapplicationdeterminationforyourengineareidentiedonthe
EmissionControlInformationLabel.Thislabelisafxedtooneofthefollowingareasoftheengine:thetopofen-
gine'srockerarmcover,theright-handsideoftheoilpan,andtheright-handsideoftheenginefrontgearcover.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatethenewequipmentissoldtotherstretailpurchaser.Thepresenceofthe
emissioncontrollabelistheindicationthattheengineconformstotheapplicablestandards.Anyemissioncontrol
systempartswhichareprovendefectiveduringnormalusewillberepairedorreplacedduringthewarrantyperiod.
TheengineownerhasresponsibilitytoperformalltherequiredmaintenancelistedintheOwner'sManual.NEW
HOLLANDwillnotdenyanemissionwarrantyclaimsolelybecausenorecordofmaintenanceexists;however,a
claimmaybedeniediffailuretoperformmaintenanceresultedinthefailureofawarrantedpart.
ItisrecommendedthatreplacementpartsusedformaintenanceorrepairsbeNEWHOLLANDServicePartstomain-
tainthequalityoriginallydesignedintoyouremissioncertiedengine.Theuseofnon-NEWHOLLANDpartsdoes
notinvalidatethewarrantyonothercomponentsunlesstheuseofsuchpartscausesdamagetowarrantedparts.
Themanufacturerisliablefordamagestootherenginecomponentscausedbythefailureofanywarrantedemission
controlsystempart.NEWHOLLANDisnotresponsibleforfailuresresultingfromimproperrepairortheuseofparts

bypassthesafetystartswitch,theenginecanstartwith
thetransmissioningear.Donotconnectorshortacross
terminalsonthestartersolenoid.Attachjumpercables
asdescribedinthemanual.Startingingearmaycause
deathorseriousinjury.
Alwayskeepwindows,mirrors,alllighting,and
Slow-MovingVehicle(SMV)emblemcleantoprovidethe
bestpossiblevisibilitywhileyouoperatethemachine.
Operatecontrolsonlywhenseatedintheoperator’sseat,
exceptforthosecontrolsexpresslyintendedforusefrom
otherlocations.

Theengine,transmission,exhaustcomponents,andhy-
drauliclinesmaybecomehotduringoperation.Takecare
whenyouservicesuchcomponents.Allowsurfacesto
coolbeforeyouhandleordisconnecthotcomponents.
Wearprotectiveequipmentwhenappropriate.
Whenwelding,followtheinstructionsinthemanual.Al-
waysdisconnectthebatterybeforeyouweldonthema-
chine.Alwayswashyourhandsafteryouhandlebattery

Wheelsandtires
Makesurethattiresarecorrectlyinated.Donotexceed
anyrecommendedloadorpressure.Followtheinstruc-
tionsinthemanualforpropertireination.
Tiresareheavy.Handlingtireswithoutproperequipment
couldcausedeathorseriousinjury.
Neverweldonawheelwithatireinstalled.Alwaysre-
movethetirecompletelyfromthewheelpriortowelding.
Alwayshaveaqualiedtiretechnicianservicethetires
andwheels.Ifatirehaslostallpressure,takethetireand
wheeltoatireshoporyourdealerforservice.Explosive
separationofthetirecancauseseriousinjury.
Donotweldtoawheelorrimuntilthetireiscompletely
removed.Inatedtirescangenerateagasmixturewith
theairthatcanbeignitedbyhightemperaturesfromweld-
ingproceduresperformedonthewheelorrim.Removing
theairorlooseningthetireontherim(breakingthebead)
willNOTeliminatethehazard.Thisconditioncanexist
whethertiresareinatedordeated.Thetiremustbe
completelyremovedfromthewheelorrimpriortoweld-
ingthewheelorrim.

Inspecttheelectricalsystemforlooseconnectionsand
frayedinsulation.Repairorreplacelooseordamaged
parts.
Donotstoreoilyragsorotherammablematerialonthe
machine.
Donotweldoramecutanyitemsthatcontainammable
material.Cleanitemsthoroughlywithnon-ammablesol-
