iii. Insert the plug of the UV-C lter into the socket: it will start working immediately.

V. MAINTENANCE
WARNING:The PURE LIGHT UV-C lter is equipped with a protective device that automatically switches the lamp o if the lter
head is accidentally opened without disconnecting it from the socket.The device is activated by means of a pivot located on the
lter body basis (Fig. 11 page 6). It is recommended to pay utmost attention when performing maintenance, to avoid damages
which may require replacement of the entire lter.
WARNING: Prior to maintenance of the appliance, you must disconnect the plug from the socket.
To ensure optimum performance of the lter, it is recommended to replace the lamp every 5000-6000 hours, depending on the
season, when used in ponds, and every 8-10 months – when used in aquariums.
V.a ASSEMBLING / REPLACEMENT OF UV-C LAMP:
To perform this operation properly, it is recommended to carefully follow the instructions below:
1. Switch PURE LIGHT UV-C lter o, disconnecting the power cord plug from the socket.
2. Hold the unlock button (8) and turn the lter head (9) counterclockwise so that the indicator on the unlock button can move
from the closed lock to the open lock position (Fig. 12 page 6).
3. Remove the lter head (9) from the lter body (1).
4. Remove the safety screw (7) and unscrew the clamp ring (6) (Fig. 13 page 6).
5. Carefully remove the quartz tube (2) from its seat.
6.Removethe UV-Clamp(3) fromthepackage andinstall intothelamp socket,slightlypressingonit, untilyouheara click, that
conrms the proper installation (Fig. 14 page 6).
WARNING:When replacing the UV-C lamp installed during the rst installation with a new one, the plastic support provided in
the new lamp package must be removed, since it is not intended for use in PURE LIGHT UV-C lter.
WARNING:Check the condition of the quartz tube O-ring (4). In case of poor elasticity, attening or rupture, replace it, taking it
out from the seat and slipping it along the entire length of the quartz tube. Install a new O-ring proceeding in the reverse order.
Itisrecommendedtouseonlyoriginalspareparts,becausethankstothe specialmaterialsthese partsensuresafeandlong-term
performance of the lter (Fig. 15 page 6).
7. Put the lter head on a at supporting surface, install the quartz tube (2) into its seat and fasten the clamping ring (6) up to
the stop (the tooth on the fastening nut runs against the seat of the safety screw located on the lter head) (Fig. 16 page 6).
8. Fasten the safety screw (7) (Fig. 17 page 6).
9.Insert the lter head(9) intothe lterbody (1)so that the indicatoron the unlockbutton (8)correspondsto the open lock image.
10. Turn thelter head(9) clockwise,until the indicator on the unlockbutton correspondstothe closed lockimage (Fig. 18 page 6).
11. Connect the PURE LIGHT UV-C lter to the electrical socket.
V.b QUARTZ TUBE CLEANING:
To perform this operation properly, it is recommended to carefully follow the instructions below:
1. Follow instructions in clauses 1-3 of the previous paragraph Va– ASSEMBLING/REPLACEMENTOFUV-CLAMP.
2. Put the lter head (9) on a at supporting surface, clean the quartz tube (2) with non-aggressive detergent for glass units.
WARNING: To avoid damage of the quartz tube during the cleaning operation, it is recommended to avoid using units or
supports which mayrub againstthe tube or cleaveit. It is alsorecommended to payutmost attentionwhen handlingthe quartz
tube which might get broken and cause incised wounds.
3. Assemble the PURE LIGHT UV-C lter again, following the instructions in clauses 9-11 of the previous paragraph Va –
ASSEMBLING/REPLACEMENTOFUV-CLAMP.
V.c REPLACEMENT OF FILTER HEAD O-RING:
To perform this operation properly, it is recommended to carefully follow the instructions below:
1. Follow instructions in clauses 1-3 of the previous paragraph Va– ASSEMBLING/REPLACEMENTOFUV-CLAMP.
