Function
The heat pump prioritises hot water charging. When the water heater is fully charged QN10 switches to the heating
system. The heat pump works to a calculated set point value on the supply line. If the heat pump cannot produce
the entire heating demand, the electric heaters EB1 and EB20 are connected.

Hot gas temperature
Stop with automatic restart:
■The compressor stops when the temperature (BT14)
exceeds 135 °C.
Stop with manual restart:
■The above has occurred 3 times within 240 minutes.
Restart when (BT14) is below 60 °C.
High pressure switch (BP10)
■The compressor stops when the pressure exceeds
32 °C. The alarm can be reset manually when the
pressure falls below 25 bar.
Low pressure switch (BP2)
■The compressor stops when the pressure has fallen
below 0.2 bar. The alarm can be reset manually when
the pressure exceeds 0.7 bar.

Return temp
During shorter time it is allowed to have lower working
temperatures on the water side, e.g. during start up.
High supply temperature
Blocks the compressor when the supply temperature
(BT12) is higher than maximum supply temperature.
Resets when supply temperature (BT12) is lower than
max supply temperature and the return temperature
is lower than maximum return temperature minus dif-
ference in menu A3.
High return temperature
Blocks the compressor when the return temperature
(BT3) is higher than maximum return temperature.
Is reset when return temp (BT3) is less than max return
temperature minus differential in menu A3.
MP alarm (07)
An MS alarm (07) is obtained if the main contactor
(QA51), motor fuse (FC2), high pressure switch (BP10),
low pressure switch (BP2) or phase switch (BA1) has
deployed.
Main contactor (QA51)
If any of the following conditions are met, the main
contactor breaks (QA51).
■High pressure switch (BP10) has tripped
■Low pressure switch (BP2) has deployed

Tripped motor circuit breaker is reset manually .

4 Compressor protection

Adjusting overheating (Main
expansion valve QN1)
NOTE
Do not panic! It is extremely important that
pressure and temperature have time to stabil-
ise between the different stages to achieve
correct overheating. It can take several minutes
for the machine to become stable!
Adjust overheating as follows:
1. Connect a manometer to the low pressure output
and service thermometer to the suction line close
to the compressor.
2. Read off the dew temperature on the manometer.
T overheating = T suction gas – T dew temperature.
Value of overheating must correspond with the
values in the diagram below. Tolerance +/- 1 K.
3. Perform manual defrosting via channel A12.
4. Wait until the temperature and pressure have sta-
bilised after defrosting and read off overheating
according to point 2.
5. If necessary adjust the expansion valve, 1 turn
changes overheating 2 - 4 K.
6. After any adjustment, wait until pressure and
temperature have stabilised. Read off overheating
according to point 2.
7. Repeat points 3 to 6 until overheating is correct
and stable.
NOTE
Always carry out last read out after defrosting!

ure using the service thermometer on the subcooler
output (A) and on liquid pipes after subcooler (B) (see
image below)
ΔT (T subcooler output "A" –Tliquid subcooler "B") must be ap-

Check the connection difference for the thermo-
stat. Check the start temperature hot water in
any NIBE Indoor module. Check the charge flow
and the particle filter which may be partially
clogged.
The operating time (compressor start until
compressor stop) has been shorter than 120
seconds during all three of the latest compressor
operations.

Poor air flow through the evaporator due to
blockage by snow or leaves. Check sensor.
The hot gas temperature (BT14) exceeds 135
