Changing the Angle
of
the Monitor
The angle
of
the
monitor
can be lowered
down
to
82°
or raised upward
to
90°.
This
is
convenient when taking pictures
with
the camera held at high or
low
positions.

Cap
Attach the lens cap to the strap, and then attach the strap to the camera.
Attach
the
strap at
two
places.

• Remove
the
lens cap before you shoot a picture.
• At times
when
you
are
not
shooting pictures such
as
when
the
power
is
off, or while you
are
carrying
the
camera, attach
the
lens cap
to
the
camera
to
protect the lens.
• Do
not
attach
other
than

lens cap
to
the
lens.

step 2 Insertthe Battery
and
the
Memory
Card
Ifa
memory
card
is
inserted, images are saved on
the
memory
card
when
you take
pictures. Ifa
memory
card
is
not
inserted, images are saved in
the
camera's internal
memory
(approximately 90MB).

Close the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover.
• While the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover
is
open, the camera cannot be turned on. Additionally,
the
battery inserted
in
the camera cannot be charged.
Removing the Battery and MemoryCard
Before opening the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover, turn the camera
off
and confirm that the power-on lamp and the
monitor
are
off.

High Temperature Caution
. The camera, battery, and
memory
card may be
hot
immediately after using the camera.
Observe caution when removing the battery or
memory
card.

To
eject the battery, open the battery-chamber/
memory
card
slot cover and push the orange battery latch
in
the direction
shown
((D).
Then, remove
the
battery
straight(@).

partially eject it, and then pull it

Charge the Battery
3.1
Prepare
the
Charging
AC
Adapter
EH-69P.
Ifa plug adapter*
is
included, attach
the
plug
adapter
to
the
plug on
the
Charging
AC
Adapter.
Push
the
plug adapter firmly until it
is
securely held in place. Once
the
two
are
connected,
attempting
to
forcibly remove
the
plug
adapter could damage
the
product.
*
The
shape
of
the plug adapter varies according to the country or region
in
which the camera
was
purchased.
The
Charging
AC
Adapter comes
with the plug adapter attached
in
Argentina and
Korea.
3.2
Make sure
the
battery
is
inserted in
the
camera, and
then
connect
the
camera
to
the
Charging
AC
Adapter in order
of
CD
to@.
• Keep
the
camera
turned
off.
• When
connecting
the
cable, be sure
that
the
plug
is
properly oriented. Do
not
use
force
when
connecting
the
cable
to
the
camera. When disconnecting
the
cable,
do
not
pull
the
plug at
an
angle.
• Close
the
battery-chamber/memory
card slot cover.

Adapter from
the
electrical
outlet
and then
disconnect
the
USB
cable.
• When
the
camera
is
connected
to
an
electrical
outlet
with
the
Charging
AC
Adapter,
the
camera
cannot
be
turned
on.

the viewfinder
to
frame pictures when
bright
light
makes it difficult
to
see
the display on the monitor.

When the image in the viewfinder

to
see,
adjust by rotating the diopteradjustment control while
looking
through
the viewfinder.

Record position information (latitude and longitude) on the image using the
camera's internal

enable recording

main subject, it automatically selects

subject closest
