Wall Mounting the Instant Internet 100-S Unit

You can mount the BayStack Instant Internet 100-S unit on any drywall, wood, or cement wall that is
at least 0.39 inches (10 mm) thick and is capable of supporting the combined weight of the unit and
attached cables (approximately 11 pounds or 5 kg).
A set of brackets, self-tapping (3.5x16) drywall screws, and (3x18) plastic expansion lugs (Figure 1)
has been included with the Instant Internet 100-S unit. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, which is
not included with the unit. If you are mounting the unit on a drywall or cement wall, you will need a
drill and a 1/4-inch drill bit, which are also not included with the unit. If you are mounting the unit
on a wood wall, you will need a #6 wood screw (not included) that is long enough to penetrate the
wood by at least 1/2-inch.
Figure 1 provides a template for you to use as a guide for placing the screws in the wall.

To use this template:
1Trace the illustration onto another piece of paper.
2Cut out the tracing, making sure to cut out the holes provided for the screws.
3Place the tracing against the wall where you would like to mount the Instant Internet 100-S unit.
4Using a pencil, trace inside the holes that you have cut out to mark where the screws should go.
5Remove the tracing and place the screws where you have marked.

Preparing a drywall or a cement wall for mounting
To mount your Instant Internet 100-S on a drywall or cement wall, you must first prepare the wall.
To prepare a drywall or cement wall for mounting the Instant Internet 100-S unit:
1Use a drill and a 1/4-inch (0.63~0.65 mm) drill bit to drill four 1 1/16-inch (27.0 mm) deep holes
where you marked the wall with the template.
2Insert each of the plastic expansion lugs included with the unit into the four newly drilled holes.
3Repeat steps 1 & 2 for the other mounting bracket.
Mounting the Instant Internet 100-S on a wall
To mount the Instant Internet 100-S on a wood wall or a prepared drywall or cement wall:
1Place the bracket against the wall where you marked the wall with the template.
Align the holes in the bracket with the expansion lugs if you are mounting on a drywall or
cement wall.
2Insert each of the four screws through the holes in the bracket and into the wood wall or the
expansion lugs.
To mount your Instant Internet 100-S on a wood wall, use only wood screws; do not use the
plastic expansion lugs.
3Screw in the screws.
4Repeat steps 1, 2, & 3 for the other mounting bracket.
Figure 2 shows the components and illustrates the combined procedures for preparing a drywall or
cement wall and for mounting the unit on the wall.
