WARNINGSANDSAFETYRULES
1.Keep work area clean. Clutteredareasinviteinjuries.
2.Observe work area conditions.Do not usemachines orpowertoolsin damp or wet
locations. Don't expose to rain. Keep work area well lighted.Do not useelectrically
powered tools inthe presenceof flammablegasesor liquids.
3.Keep bystanders,petsand childrenaway. Children must never be allowedin the
workarea.Do not letthemhandlemachines, tools, extensioncords,or airhoses.
4.Store idleequipment. When not inuse,toolsmust be stored in adry location to
inhibitrust.Alwayslock up tools andkeepout of reach ofchildren.
5.Usethe right tool for thejob. Do notattempt toforcea small tool orattachment to
do theworkof alargerindustrial tool. There arecertain applications for which this
toolwas designed.It will dothe job better and more safely atthe rate for which itwas
intended. Donot modifythis tool and donot use this tool fora purposefor which it
was not intended.
6.Dress properly. Donot wear loose clothingor jewelry as they canbe caught in
movingparts. Protective, electricallynon-conductiveclothesand non-skidfootwear
are recommended when working.Wearrestrictive haircovering tocontain long hair.
Alwayswearsteeltoeshoes when operating theAir Hammer.
7.Useeyeand ear protection. AlwayswearANSI-approvedimpactsafetygogglesand
ear protection. Wear afull face shield when breakingup concrete.
8.Donot overreach. Keep proper footingand balanceat alltimes. Do not reach over
or across runningmachines orair hoses.
9.Maintaintoolswith care. Keep tools clean for betterand saferperformance. Follow
instructions for lubricating and changingaccessories. Inspecttoolcordsand air hoses
periodically and, ifdamaged, have them repaired by an authorized technician. The
handlemustbe kept clean, dry, and freefromoil and grease atall times.

10.Disconnect airsupply. Disconnectair hose when notin use.
11.Avoidunintentional starting. Be surethe trigger is notdepressed when carrying the
Air Hammer.
12.Stay alert.Watchwhatyou are doing, use common sense.Do not operate any tool
whenyou are tired.
13.Check for damaged parts. Before using any tool, anypart that appears damaged
shouldbe carefullycheckedto determinethat it willoperateproperlyand perform its
intendedfunction.Checkfor alignment and bindingof moving parts; any brokenparts
or mountingfixtures; and any other conditionthat may affect proper operation.Any
part thatis damaged shouldbe properly repaired or replacedby aqualifiedtechnician.
Do not usethe Air Hammer ifthe trigger does not turnon and offproperly.
14.Guardagainst electric shock. Prevent bodycontactwith groundedsurfaces such
as pipes, radiators,ranges,and refrigerator enclosures.
15.Do notoperatetoolif under theinfluenceof alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels
on prescriptionsto determineif your judgment orreflexes areimpairedwhiletaking
drugs.If there isanydoubt, do not operate the tool.
16.Use proper size and typeextension cord. Ifan extensioncordis requiredfor the
air compressor, itmustbe ofthe proper size and typeto supply the correct current to
the tool without heating up. Otherwise, the extensioncordcouldmelt and catch fire,
or cause electrical damage to the tool. Check your compressor'smanualfor the
appropriate size cord.
17.Foryoursafety, maintenanceshould be performedregularlyby aqualifiedtechnician.
18.Use compressedair only Never use combustible gases as apowersource.
Note: Performance ofthe compressor(if poweredby line voltage) may vary depending
on variationsin local linevoltage.Extension cord usage may alsoaffect tool
performance.

approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks thatare speciallydesigned to

AdditionalSafetyWarnings
1.Repetitivemotionsor exposure to vibrationmaybe harmful to your hands andarms.
2.When wearing glovesto operatethe Air Hammer,makesure that the gloves do not
interferewith operating the trigger.Testyourgloveswith the trigger beforeattaching
the unit toan airsource.
3.Never start thetoolunlessyou havea firmgrip with both hands andyou are positioned
at your workpieceor area.

4.Before usingthe Air Hammer, know whatis directly underneaththe work areaor
workpiece.
5.The AirHammer can quicklypenetrate material.If working directlyon the ground,
make sure you are notdirectly aboveshallow cables, lines,or pipes.
6.Keep your limbs andbody clear ofthe Air Hammer. If achisel breaks off, thetool
tends tosurge forwardsuddenly. Makesure the immediatearea is clearof other
people or animals.Spectators must stay at asafe distance.
7.Never pointthe tool orthe air hose(not included) atanyone.
8.Keep your finger away from thetrigger until youare ready towork.
Operation
SetUp
1.Youwill need toprepare a 1/4"air connector (soldseparately) toconnect to theAir
Inlet. First, wrapthe 1/4" airconnector (notincluded) with pipethread seal tape
before connecting to a AirSource Hose (notincluded).
2.Attach airhose to theAir Inlet (#7)on the AirHammer. Note: If youare not usingan
automatic oiler system, before operation,add a few drops ofPneumatic ToolOil to the
airline connection. Adda fewdrops more aftereach hour ofcontinual use.
3.Set theair pressure onyour compressor to 90 PSI.Do not exceed the recommended
air pressure of90 PSI.
4.Check theair connection forleaks.
5.Turnoff the compressorand disconnect theair source hosein preparation toload
bits into theAir Hammer.
Useasahammer
WARNING
Always disconnectfrom the airsource beforeexamining or changingbits.
1.Select theappropriate ChiselBit. With yourthumb, put counterclockwise pressure
on the springand insert the shankof the chiselbit into theCylinder. Releasethe spring.
Holding the AirHammer firmly,pull the chiselbit hard to make sureit locked into place.

Note:Before connectingthe air supply, make sureyou are wearing safetygoggles and
a full facemask, ear protection, and steeltoe shoes.

WARNING
Any spectatorsin the immediatearea will needeye andear protection.
Beware offlying chips ofwood, concrete,metal, or anyother material beingchiseled.
2.Connect theair hose tothe Air Inletand turn onthe compressor (notincluded).
3.Grip theAir Hammer withboth hands firmlyand put thechisel tip upagainst the
workpiece youwish to chip.
4.Gently squeezethe trigger andmove slowlyalong the workpiece.Do not pushdown
on the tool;let it dothe work. Ifit does notdo the intendedjob to satisfaction,examine
your bit to see ifit is wornor dull.
5.When youare finished, turnoff the airsupply, holdthe Air Hammera safedistance
away fromyourself and othersand squeeze thetrigger to bleedoff the remaining air.
Then, disconnect theair hose.
UseasaNeedleScaler
1.Removethe spring andthe Chisel Bit.
2.Take out theneedle scaler fromthe box (SeeFig. 3), screwit into thecylinder
(See Fig. 4),tighten it (SeeFig. 5) andstart the trigger.

3.Gently squeezethe trigger andmove slowlyalong the workpiece.Do not pushdown
on the scaler;let it dothe work. Ifit does notdo the intendedjob to satisfaction,
examine yourscaler to seeif it isworn or dull.
4.When youare finished, turnoff the air supplyand then holdthe Air NeedleScaler
a safe distanceaway fromyourself and othersand squeeze thetrigger to bleedoff
the remaining air. Then, disconnectthe air hose.
