engine and blades (the “equipment”)
are extremely dangerous and can
cause severe injury or death. To avoid
serious injury, the equipment must always be
handled, operated and stored with the utmost
care and good judgment and in accordance
with all warnings, cautions, instructions and
procedures contained in this manual, in the
engine manual, in the instructions enclosed
with optional accessories and on the decals
posted on the equipment. Failure to use good
judgment or to follow any of these warnings,

e. Are not taking medication that can impair judgment,
reaction times, mobility, alertness or otherwise cause
negative side effects.
Persons who fail to meet any of these requirements are
not qualified to use the equipment or handle blades.
Wear protective gloves when working with the
equipment or handling blades. Risk of cutting
injuries when handling blades. Blades and
engine can be hot immediately after sawing.
Wear approved hearing protection when
operating the equipment. Hearing can
be permanently impaired after only short
exposure to high-frequency sounds.
Wear approved close-fitting safety goggles
when working with the equipment or handling
blades.
Wear approved protective footwear with saw
protection, steel toe-cap and non-slip sole
when working with the equipment or handling
blades.
Wear full-length protective pants when working
with the equipment or handling blades. Never
wear loose-fitting clothing, scarves, jewelery
or similar long items that can get caught when
working with the equipment. Always secure loose hair
before working with the equipment.
Wear respiration protection when working
with the equipment. Long term inhalation of
sawdust and the engine’s exhaust fumes can
represent a health risk.
Many hydraulic operation fluids are flammable, so
do not use open flame and do not perform welding
in the vicinity of hydraulic devices and equipment.
Failure to follow this precaution creates the risk of
fire.
Do not exceed the operational limitations of the
system. Failure to do so can cause an accident or
injury.
Before each use, check for electrical wire damage
and replace if necessary
Before each use, check for damage to hydraulic
hoses and hydraulic components, loose fittings and
signs of leaks.
To avoid personal injury, keep hands and feet away
from cylinders and work pieces during operation.
Never set the relief valve to a higher pressure than
the maximum rated pressure of the pump (2500 psi
or 172 bars). Higher settings may result in equipment
damage and/or personal injury. Do not remove relief
valve.
Do not handle pressurized hoses. Escaping oil under
pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious
injury. If oil is injected under the skin, contact a
physician immediately.
Before replacing the hydraulic operating fluid, allow
the fluid in the system to cool sufficiently. Hot fluid
creates the risk of burn injury.
Should you ever notice abnormal noise, abnormal
heat, abnormal vibration, leaking oil, smoke,
abnormal odor, or any other abnormal operation
in a valve, pump, or motor, immediately shut down
operation and take the necessary steps to correct
the condition. Continued use under the above
conditions creates the risk of damage, fire, and
personal injury
Always stay behind the sawhead after the engine is
started.
Always keep remote control wires clear of the
sawmill, including carriage and sawhead.
Do not exceed equipment rating. Overloading causes
equipment failure and possible injury. The pump is
designed for a maximum pressure of 2500 psi (172
bars).
Avoid damaging hydraulic hoses. Avoid sharp bends
and kinks when routing hydraulic hoses. Using a
bent or kinked hose will cause severe back pressure.
Sharp bends and kinks will internally damage the
hose leading to premature hose failure.
Do not lift hydraulic equipment by the hoses or swivel
couplers.
Use the proper type of hydraulic operating fluid,
ensuring that fluid temperature, viscosity,
contaminant level, and other factor are all within
prescribed ranges. Using hydraulic operating fluid
outside of its prescribed ranges creates the risk of
fire due to operational problems, mechanical
damage, and fluid leaks.
Before each use, check the fluid temperature, fluid
level and fluid color (for discoloration and
deterioration). Any abnormalities create the risk of
malfunction and breakdown.
Whitish fluid indicates that water has contaminated
the fluid, and blackish fluid indicates that the fluid
has been subjected to high temperatures. Replace
the operating fluid whenever these symptoms are
noticed.
Make sure to avoid splashing hydraulic operating
fluid on you or others. Should fluid get on your skin,
wash the area thoroughly with soap and water.
Allowing hydraulic operating fluid to remain on the
skin creates the risk of skin irritation.

Never attempt any unauthorized modifications of the
hydraulic systems.
Whenever changing to another type of hydraulic
operating fluid, be sure to thoroughly flush out the
interior of the circuit. Never mix hydraulic operating
fluids of different types. Continued use creates the
risk of malfunction of, and damage to, the equipment.
Allowing the hydraulic operating fluid level in the tank
to become too low creates the risk of malfunction
and breakdown.
Always check hydraulic devices for looseness of
internal components that may have occurred during
transport and check to make sure that all
components are fitted securely.
Wipe up any hydraulic operating fluid that gets on
the product or floor. Failure to do so creates the risk
of personal injury due to the product slipping out of
your hand and falling, and due to someone slipping
on the fluid left on the floor.
Valve, pump and motor casing can become very hot
during operation. Do not touch them.
Never climb onto, strike, tip over, or apply excessive
force to a product. Doing so creates the risk of
malfunction, damage, fluid leaks, etc.
Never allow cutting oil, grinding oil, clippings, water
or other similar matter to get on or in hydraulic
devices.
Make sure installation holes and surfaces are clean.
Insufficient bolt tightening torque can allow fluid
leaks.
Always make sure to release all residual pressure
before starting disassembly work. Performing
disassembly work without releasing residual
pressure creates the risk of accident due to spurting
fluid, actuator free running, or dropping, and also
creates the risk of malfunction and breakdown.
For optimum performance, do not expose equipment
to temperature of 65 °C (150 °F) or higher.
If the system will not be operated for long periods, be
sure to take proper anti-rust measures.
Not operating the system for long periods without
taking anti-rust measures creates the risk of
malfunction and breakdown due to rust.
Be sure to flush the system before using it again
after long periods of non-use. Failure to flush out
rust inhibitors creates the risk of malfunction and
breakdown.
Seals may need to be replaced before using a
product for the first time after long storage.

Box Contents and Parts List

Install the hydraulic cylinder (item #4)
onto the loader cradle sub-assembly
using the 3/4” pins (item #20 and #21).
Secure the pins with the provided
hairpin.
Note: After retracting the cylinder, attach
the cylinder to the middle of the three
lower holes on the side of the loader
cradle bracket (item #16). Then line up
the top cylinder attachment hole to any
of the loader arm bracket holes (item
#15)
Assemble each loader cradle (item #16)
with the loader arm (item #15) using the
pivot handle (item #18). Secure the pivot
using 1 1/4” collar (item #3), on each
side.
Note: The pivot handle (item #18) is
designed to overhang on either side
to be use as a handle for removal and
installation on the machine, choose the
one that fits you the best.
Cylinder and Mechanism Installation
Install the mounting brackets (item #17)
on to the chassis bed at the proper
locations (see detail view “A”) using 3/8”
x 2 1/2” bolts (item #2) and existing nuts.

Assembly and Installation Instructions

The mounting brackets (item #17) is
meant to attach the cradle (item #16)
and loader arm (item #15) to the sawmill
bed.
NOTE: It is not designed to hold the
weight of the log, so it’s necessary
to firmly support the cradle on the
ground. If the ground is uneven
and/or soft, use whatever planks or
similar necessary to support them
properly.
Slide the female connector bar (item
#13) into the loader arm (item #15)
located at the back of the sawmill. Then,
insert the male connector bar (item #14)
into the other loader arm (item #15) and
into the female connector bar (item #13),
secure bar using 3/8” x 1” bolt (item #1).
Center the bar sub-assembly and tighten
the 3/8” x 1” bolts (item #1).
Install the loader cradle sub-assembly
onto the mounting bracket (item #17)
using the 1/2” x 4 pin (item #19). Secure
the pin with the provided hairpin.

Connect the 134” hydraulic log loader
hose (item #11 labeled NOR006-0001)
to the valve, as shown in the picture.
Connect the other end of the hydraulic
hose (item #11 labeled NOR006-0001)
to the “T” 3/8” fitting (item #5), as shown
in the picture.
Connect the 48” hydraulic hoses (item
#10 labeled NOR006-0002) to the “T”
fitting (item #5), as shown in the picture.

Connect the hydraulic hoses (item #10
labeled NOR006-0002) to the cylinder
using the disconnect fitting.
Install a #8 SAE fitting (item #6) to each
hydraulic cylinder (item #4) (bottom
extract port) using Teflon fitting tape.
Then install the male disconnect fitting
(item #9) to the #8 SAE fitting. Do the
same for both cylinders.
Install the female disconnect fitting (item
#8) to the other end of the hydraulic
hoses (item #10 labeled NOR006-0002).

Install a 1/4” air breather fitting (item #7)
on each cylinder (item #4) using Teflon
fitting tape.

Keep all persons out of the path of moving
equipment and logs when operating or
loading, turning or raising logs. Failure to do
so can result in serious injury.
Before loading a log, be sure the cutting
head is moved all the way to the end of the bed so
the log does not hit it. Failure to do so may result in
machine damage.
Always raise the log clamp before loading a log
onto the bed. Failure to do so can result in the log
rolling off the opposite side of the bed.
As soon as the log rolls off the loader onto the bed,
raise the log rest to prevent the log from rolling back
off.
1. Use the hydraulic log loader to load a log onto the bed frame.
2. Move the saw carriage to the front of the mill.
3. Raise the log clamp so the log does not roll on the opposite side of the bed.
4. Roll the log into the loader and center it.
Always ensure the weight of the log is evenly
divided between the two loader arms.
Maximum log weight 1360 kg (3000 lb).
The loader arm cradles haves to be firmly
supported on the ground. If the ground is uneven
and/or soft, use whatever planks or similar item
necessary to support them properly.
Make sure that the same amount of log overhangs
each side of the loader arms.
Make sure that both loader arms work in concert,
that they are firmly connected to the bed and that
they are connected to each other via the bars.
Pull the loader lever down to raise the log onto the sawmill bed frame. Raise it until the
log rolls onto the bed frame.
As soon as the log rolls off the loader, raise the log rest.
To lower the log loaders push the log loader lever up/forward.
Note: If the log has to be lowered back onto the ground, do it with caution and slowly.
Keep the area well clear in case the log rolls off the loader arms.

Avant de remplacer le fluide hydraulique, laissez le
liquide refroidir suffisamment dans le système. Le
fluide chaud crée un risque de brûlure.
Si vous remarquez un bruit, de la chaleur et des
vibrations anormaux, des fuites d’huile, de la fumée,
une odeur anormale ou tout autre fonctionnement
anormal de la soupape, de la pompe ou du moteur,
arrêtez immédiatement la machine et prenez les
mesures nécessaires pour corriger la situation. La
poursuite de l’utilisation de la machine dans les
conditions décrites ci-dessus crée un risque de
dommages, d’incendie et de blessures corporelles
Demeurez toujours derrière la tête de coupe lorsque
le moteur est en marche.
Gardez toujours les fils de la télécommande éloignés

Évitez les plis et coudes prononcés lors de
l’installation des tuyaux hydrauliques. Un tuyau plié
ou tordu entraînera une forte contre-pression. Les
plis et coudes prononcés endommageront la partie
interne du tuyau entraînant une défaillance
prématurée du tuyau.
Ne soulevez pas l’équipement hydraulique à l’aide
des tuyaux ou des raccords pivotants.
Utilisez le type de fluide hydraulique approprié en
veillant à ce que la température du fluide, la
viscosité, le niveau de contaminants et d’autres
facteurs se trouvent dans les fourchettes prescrites.
L’utilisation d’un fluide hydraulique en dehors des
plages prescrites crée un risque d’incendie en raison
de problèmes opérationnels, dommages mécaniques
et des fuites de fluide.
