Intelligent Tissue Monitoring (ITM)
detects when the tissue is cut and
stops the ultrasonic and RF bipolar
output automatically.
If ITM is OFF, the activation needs to
be stopped manually by releasing the
hand switch.
ITM can be used with THUNDERBEAT
SEAL & CUT and SONICBEAT MAX.
Adjust the output level by tapping plus/minus.
When reconnecting an instrument, the last-used
output level and ITM are recalled automatically.

Troubleshooting
Error Possible causes Solution
U504/U601
Probe damage
Instrument has not been replaced. Replace the instrument.
Plug is not connected properly to the socket. Connect plug and socket firmly.
Transducer temperature is too high. Stop output until the temperature cools down.
Transducer malfunction or probe damage/malfunction. Replace the transducer/instrument.
U508/U511
Short circuit
(THUNDERBEAT only)
Output is generated while a metallic object is grasped. Confirm that no metal object is grasped between jaw and probe tip.
Output in body fluids. Remove excess fluids.
Grasping section wear out. Replace instrument.
U509
Ultrasonic level error
Excessive load is applied to the distal end. Reduce the force applied to the distal end or to the probe tip.
Withdraw body fluid and tissue on the grasping section, probe tip, and shaft surface.
Transducer plug is not connected properly to the THUNDERBEAT / SONICBEAT
socket at USG-410.
Confirm that the transducer plug is connected to the THUNDERBEAT / SONICBEAT socket at USG-410.
If not, connect it properly.
Transducer malfunction or probe damage/malfunction. Replace the transducer/instrument.
U510
Ultrasonic frequency
error
Connection of transducer and instrument is loose. Connect transducer firmly with instrument.
Excessive load is applied to the distal end.
Reduce the force applied. Remove body fluid and tissue on the grasping section, probe tip, and shaft surface.
Transducer socket and plug are not connected properly. Check if plug and socket are connected properly.
Transducer temperature is too high. Stop output until the temperature cools down.
Transducer malfunction/probe damage or malfunction. Replace transducer/instrument.
U512
Open circuit
(THUNDERBEAT only)
Instrument is activated without holding tissue. Re-grasp tissue and confirm activation.
Transducer and instrument or transducer socket and plug are not connected properly.
Check if transducer and instrument or plug and socket are connected properly.
Transducer/instrument malfunction. Replace transducer/instrument.
