OVEN FUNCTION CONTROL CHART
The oven’s echanical ti er ust be on and in use or the control knob set to anual for the oven to work.
Note: Oven shelves are nu bered fro 5 at the top down to 1 at the botto when referring to the food cooking
chart.
During heated oven functions a cooling fan in the top of the oven will operate in order to cool down the oven door
and kitchen cabinet as well as reducing condensation in the oven. There will then be a slight release of war air
fro the top of the closed oven door. This is not a leak in heat fro the oven cavity.

11
OVEN FUNCTION CONTROLS
You can start the defrost operation by putting the frozen food
into oven and bringing the function control knob to the
indicated ark. This function will not cook/bake the food; it
only helps to defrost it within a short ti e.
Put the food to be defrosted on the wire rack that you will
place on the third rack support fro the botto (Figure 13).
To collect the water that accu ulates due to the elting ice,
insert an oven tray onto a lower rack. This function is perfect
for finishing off the defrost process for frozen food that has
been in the refrigerator fro the evening before and ay not
be co pletely thawed out.
Fan Forced Function:
This Fan Forced function uses the turbo heater (located in the back of the oven) to evenly disperse the heat in the

To set a ti e, rotate the ti er control knob clockwise to a certain ti e range between 0 -
100 inutes, as shown on the picture (Figure 16). The oven will stop when the set ti e
range is co pleted, and the ti er will give an audible warning once.
This is referred to as Manual use or Manual operation, when you want total control of the
cooking functions and cooking ti e.
ACCESSORIES
It is reco ended that you use the containers indicated depending on the food you will cook in your oven. You can
also use glass containers, cake pans and special oven trays suitable for use in your oven (available in kitchenware
shops). Pay attention to the infor ation given by the supplier for use of this cookware. The infor ation given
below should be i ple ented for ena elled containers.
If the food to be cooked does not co pletely cover the oven tray, if the food is taken out of the deep-freezer or if the
tray is used to collect the dripping juices of the foods during the grill operation, defor ation ight be observed on
the tray over ti e due to high te peratures for ing during the cooking/baking operation. This is a nor al, physical
state that results during the heat transfer. Do not leave a glass tray or container in a cold environ ent i ediately
after cooking in the . Do not place the on cold and wet surfaces. Ensure that they slowly cool off by placing the
on a dry piece of cloth or wooden board, otherwise, the glass tray or container ight break. If you are going to use
the large wire oven rack/grill, insert a tray into one of the lower racks to collect fat or oil. To ake cleaning easier,
add so e water into this tray. In a grilling operation, use the shelf in position 4 or 5.

14
CLEANING
NOTE: Cleaning and aintenance operations ust only be carried out when the oven is cool.
The appliance should be disconnected fro the power outlet or turned off at your isolation switch
before co encing any cleaning process.
Cleaning the oven exterior:
Before starting to clean your oven, be sure that all control buttons are off and your appliance has cooled off. Unplug
the appliance.
Do not use cleaning aterials containing particles that ight scratch the ena elled and painted parts of your oven.
Use crea cleaners or liquid cleaners, which do not contain particles. As these cleaners ay da age the surfaces,
do not use caustic crea s, abrasive cleaning powders, rough wire wool or hard tools. In the event of any excess
liquids spilling over your oven surface during cleaning, clean up i ediately so as to prevent possible da age to
the ena el or etal surface. Do not use stea cleaners for cleaning the oven.
Cleaning the interior of the oven:
Make sure to unplug the oven before starting to clean it. You will obtain best results if you clean the oven interior
while the oven is slightly war (the oven should not be operating). Wipe your oven with a soft piece of cloth (e.g.
dish cloth) da pened with war soapy water after each use, rinse cloth in war water then wipe oven again and
then finish by wiping with a dry cloth. For a co plete cleaning process, use dry and powder type oven cleaners,
following the oven cleaning product’s instructions.

TRANSPORTATION
Keep the original carton of the product and use this packaging if the ite needs to be transported. Follow the
transport signs on the carton.
Place a paper between the upper cover and cooking panel, cover the upper cover, than tape to the side surfaces
of oven.
Tape cardboard or paper onto the inside face of the glass as it will be susceptible to da age fro the trays. Use
cardboard covers for the wire grill and trays in your oven. Also tape the oven’s covers to the side walls.
If the original carton is unavailable, take easures to protect the external surfaces (glass and painted surfaces) of
oven against possible blows, as well as the above.

16
COOKING GUIDES
•
For opti u cooking keep edges of baking dishes and pans at least 4c fro the sides of the oven. This
allows free heat circulation and ensures even cooking.
•
Where possible re ove large cuts of eat 1kg or over fro the fridge 1 hour prior to cooking. Allow, to
stand covered and away fro direct sun/heat. This process will take the “chill” of the fridge away fro the
food and assist in ore even cooking.
Oven Shelf Location
Your O ega oven has five positions or racks for the oven shelves to be positioned depending on your choice of
cooking function and size of roasting dishes or containers. These are nu bered fro 1 (the lowest shelf position) to
5 (the highest shelf position). See diagra in oven anual.
To obtain axi u space above and below the shelves, it is reco ended that you position trays and dishes in
the following way:
•
When using only 1 shelf, use position/rack 2 or 3 (That’s oven shelf position).
•
When using 2 shelves, use position/rack 2 and 4.
Roasting Meat, Cooking Chicken and Fish
•
Ideally, eat should be at least 1Kg or ore when roasting in order to prevent it fro drying out.
•
When cooking white eat, poultry and fish, use te perature settings (180°C-220°C).
•
For red eat that should be well done on the outside while tender and juicy on the inside, it is a good idea
to start with
a high te perature setting (200°C-220°C) for a short ti e, then turn the oven down afterwards and finish
off.
•
When larger cuts of eat, poultry or fish have finished cooking, ideally re ove the food fro oven and
cover with foil and stand for 10-20 inutes (depending on size). This will help retain the juices when the
eat is carved.
•
When cooking large whole fish 1kg or large it is reco ended that the flesh be scored or slashed 2- 3 ti es
on either side to assist in ore even cooking. To do this cut into the thick fish flesh behind the head through
to the bone. These scored areas also allow you to check easily to see if the fish is cooked.
•
It is a good idea to either easure the inside of your oven for width and either write this down in book you
ay have with you when shopping or you can cut a piece of string the oven width this akes it easier to
know if your fish will fit into the oven. Looks can be deceiving and the fish looks so uch better whole with
its head and tail. If it doesn’t fit you will probably need to re ove the head prior to baking.

17
Grilling
Cooking ti es ay vary according to the nature of the foods, their ho ogeneity and their volu e. When cooking
a certain food for the first ti e, it is advisable to choose the lowest te perature and then increase te perature
as required.
Cakes and Baking
Organize the oven shelves while the oven is cold and before preparing a recipe. When baking follow the directions in
the recipe however if in doubt as a general rule the food (e.g. cake) is positioned on a shelf that will have the top of
the cake surface as near to the centre of the oven as possible.
•
Preheat oven before preparing the cake or baked ite s as so e baked food does not like to sit waiting
for the oven to reach the required te perature. For best results the baked food should go straight into
the preheat oven at the correct te perature.
•
Use kitchen baking paper to line cake tins and baking trays for cookies and roast vegetables such as
pu pkin.
•
When aking cakes have eggs at roo te perature.
•
When aking sponge cakes don’t tap the beaters on the side of the bowl when the beating is co plete
as this will knock out precious air you have just spent ti e adding. Re ove the beaters fro the hand
ixer and tap the over the edge of your open pal to knock any re aining cake ix into the bowl
below.
Pavlova and Meringues
•
Eggs should be at roo te perature.
•
Ensure that the bowl and beaters to be used are super clean and have no grease, oil or fat on the as this
will retard the beating and peak for ing process.
•
It is a good idea to crack the eggs to be used one at a ti e over a s all bowl to separate the egg yolks
and whites that way if a yolk does break it will not end up in your ain bowl of egg whites.
•
When aking pavlova or eringues don’t tap the beaters on the side of the bowl when the beating is
co plete as this will knock out precious air you have just spent ti e adding. Re ove the beaters fro the
hand ixer and tap the over the edge of your open pal to knock any re aining ix into the bowl below.
•
Line baking trays with kitchen baking paper.
•
When they are cooked, re ove the tray fro the oven and use a very flat spatula to loosen the food fro
the baking paper. Return the Pavlova or eringues to the oven and allow to stand overnight or until the
oven is cold for best results.
Think about using the re aining egg yolks to ake ho e ade ayonnaise.
