02 - Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Sentry MK4 Mass Fever Screening System (MFSS). The Sentry MK4 MFSS comes

2.3 Deployment Site Selection
A successful screening operation begins with site selection. Select a deployment location with a natural funnel
that channels human trac into a manageable and controlled flow. This could be a doorway or a passageway.
If such an area is not available, create a passage with barriers. As the system only screen persons facing the
camera, we recommend outgoing trac be channeled through other paths. In order for the system to be at its
peak performance, outgoing trac flow should bring screened persons towards system operators, disperse
only after passing them.
Ideally, persons to be screened should face the camera directly. This, however, may not be practical in many
deployment sites. You may set up the system to screen persons at an angle, but not exceeding 45 degrees.
As the system is very sensitive to heat signatures, ensure the camera is not pointing at the hot background.
These could be parking lots, roads, passing trac or even hot windows. Failure to observe these guidelines
may result in a false alarm trigger.
If there are small areas of hot objects that cannot be avoided, use the onboard Mask function to exclude that
area or Zone function to select a specific area to screen.
As much as the system can function under a very wide environmental range, eective screening can only be
conducted in environmental temperature between 61°F - 91°F (16°C - 33°C). Extended range of up to 100°F
(38°C) is possible but may result in longer stabilization time and reduced accuracy.
2.4 Screening Considerations
The Sentry MK4 MFSS is designed to screen persons for elevated skin temperature. Therefore, consideration
needs to be given to ensure the person’s skin is not adversely aected by the external environment.
• Persons should not be screened under direct sunlight.
• Sucient time should be provided for persons to cool down (or warm-up if the environment is cold)
• As the system cannot screen what it cannot see, sucient areas exposing face is required.
Hair and shoulder will trap and hold heat for some time, these signatures may trigger the alarm and
cause false alert. To minimize false alert, ensure there is sucient time to condition people coming in
from under direct sunlight.

10
10 - 16ft (3-5m) screening distance
Recommended 10 - 16ft (3 - 5m) distance between Camera and TRS,
maximum 23ft (7m).
Camera TRS
Position the TRS
Set up the tripod or place the TRS on a suitable
platform. The TRS has to face the camera and
positioned WITHIN the camera’s field of view. You
may verify this with the live camera video feed.
Subsequently, check the trac flow at the intended
screening area and adjust the camera/TRS position
as necessary. Check for trip hazards.
Position the camera unit
Setup the mobile pedestal (or other suitable
mounting/placement platform) and position the
camera above human height of 6ft 7in – 7ft 3in
(200 220cm). The subjects to be screened should
be walking towards the camera unit. Position and
orientate the camera as necessary.
2.5 System Positioning
The illustration below shows how the Sentry MK4 components should be positioned in the screening area.
For mobile setup, we recommend the system to be installed on our custom-designed mobile pedestal. This
pedestal is designed with features that are best suited for the Sentry MK4 MFSS.
Other options are possible, the camera and TRS use industry-standard tripod mounting screw thread. The
console uses industry-standard 75x75mm VESA mount.
For prolong deployment, we suggest the system be fixed mounted to permanent structures of possible.
Camera and TRS can be mounted with any industrial standard CCTV mounting brackets. The system is
designed for continuous duty and can operate on a 24/7 basis without damage.
6ft 7in - 7ft 3in
(200 - 220cm)
5ft 11in - 6ft 7in
(180 - 200cm)
In general, the trigger alarm will be activated if the signal between the camera unit and TRS is blocked
(e.g. human trac). Setting the camera unit and TRS at a height that ensures a clear line of sight between
them during screen operation will prevent this from happening.

2.6 System Connection
This diagram provides an overview of the connection between dierent components of the Sentry MK4 MFSS.
The TRS is physically on its own and requires only a power source. TRS communicates with the rest of the
system via Bluetooth.
If a compatible touch monitor is not available, a standard HDMI monitor and mouse can be used. The camera
unit is powered by PoE network port on the console (marked ‘Camera’).
