Functional principle
The OPERTIS eLOCK lock system ensures continuous public and
commercial building fitout. Special fitting solutions are available for
different door types.
The Framed Door system includes a self-locking lock which automatically
locks when the door is closed. There is no locking in the conventional
sense by means of knobs or keys; mechanical locking is no longer
necessary.
In the Framed Door system the inner lever handle is always coupled in.
The integrated anti-panic function pulls back the latch and bolt when the
inner lever handle is pressed; the doors can always be opened from the
inside.
In the Framed Door system the outer lever handle has no function in the
decoupled state: It can be pressed but does not have any connection with
the lock latch and bolt. In this state the door cannot be opened using the
outer lever handle. Access organisation is realised by short-term coupling-
in of the otherwise idle (disengaged) outer lever handle after holding an
identifier in front of the antenna. If the coupled-in outer handle lever is
pressed the latch and bolt are pulled back.
There is no unlocking in the conventional sense by means of knobs or
keys; mechanical unlocking is no longer necessary.
Management and programming, among other things the issue of access
authorisations, takes place using the eLOCK Center management
software. Optionally, programming with eLOCK LernLösch is also possible
via three programming keys without additional software.
Passive identifiers without their own power supply are available for
authorisation at the fittings in different forms such as key fobs, cards or
customer-specific forms.
Detailed information
Further information on the product is given in Section 8 "Product
Specifications".
3 Intended Use
Area of use
The Framed Door system has been designed for use in narrow framed
doors at internal and external doors. It is not permitted to use it outdoors,
e.g. in fencing.
Condition of the product
Framed Door systems may only be used if they are in a technically perfect
condition.
Independent modifications and changes to the product are not allowed.

eLOCK GB
Operating Instructions Framed Door System ES6610, ES7610

Ambient conditions
Use in a particularly polluted environment, e.g. in aggressive gases, high
humidity, in extreme temperatures or in a very dusty environment, is not
allowed. If you have any questions, please contact OPERTIS Support.
Power supply
All battery operated fittings activate acoustic and/or optical battery flat
warnings and controlled failed locking if the battery output in the fitting is
fading. The battery should then be replaced without delay.
Residual risk
If used properly and if the maintenance instructions are followed, this
product will support your property security.
However, the following residual risks cannot be excluded:
In the event of failure of the electronics there is a risk of locking out. In
this case the door can only be opened from the outside with
mechanical aids. In this case, please contact OPERTIS Support.
If the battery flat warning is repeatedly ignored the Framed Door
system stops all activities (Active Power Off). The door cannot be
opened from the outside. This state is retained in until the battery has
been replaced and then an external power supply has been provided.
In Active Power Off, i.e. if the battery is completely flat or missing, the
Framed Door system stops all activities. The door can then only be
opened from the outside with the external power supply (EPS) ES6781
for ES5000 plus systems or the ES7781 for eLOCK and eLOCK
LernLösch systems.
4 Safety Instructions
The following safety instructions must be read and followed before use!
OPERTIS does not accept any liability whatsoever for personal losses or
injuries or damage to property caused by failure to note and follow these
instructions!
WARNING
Risk of personal injuries
The Framed Door system has been tested and approved for
use in framed fire doors and framed smoke control doors. If
used in a fire door or smoke control door it must also be
listed in the "monitoring design features" (list of approved
products) of the relevant profile manufacturer.

8 OPERTIS 05/2012
WARNING
Risk of personal injuries
An approved framed door version with anti-panic function
must be installed in the escape direction for doors in escape
routes.
WARNING
Risk of personal injuries
If the Framed Door system is used in doors in escape routes
an approved lock model (lever handle side with panic
function in the direction of escape) must be installed.
Otherwise the door does not have the anti-panic function.
WARNING
Danger of personal injury
from the battery
Any improper contact with the battery can lead to damage to
the health. The following instructions must be noted:
Only use batteries supplied or approved by OPERTIS.
Do not open, solder or weld the batteries.
Do not throw the batteries into fire.
Do not recharge the batteries.
Remove empty batteries immediately from the fitting.
Store batteries out of the reach of children.
Do not touch leaking batteries without appropriate
protection. Avoid contact with the eyes or mouth.
CAUTION
Danger of material damage
Malfunctions can occur if unapproved battery types are used.
The fitting does not signal any battery warnings and does not
switch to the secured end state Active Power Off.
Only use battery types approved by OPERTIS.
CAUTION
Risk of locking in or out
The door cannot be opened without a fully functional fitting, if
the latch drops into the lock.
Leave the door open during installation and while changing
the battery or ensure that the door can be opened at any time
without using the fitting.

eLOCK GB
Operating Instructions Framed Door System ES6610, ES7610

CAUTION
Unauthorised access
After opening the door, let go of the outer lever handle.
Otherwise the electronic lock of the framed door system
cannot uncouple and lock the door if the lever handle is kept
pressed for longer than 2 min. after the opening time (default
20 sec.). The framed door system then automatically tries to
uncouple the outer lever handle at defined intervals.
CAUTION
Unauthorised access
The inner lever handle of the Framed Door system is coupled
as an anti-panic lock. This enables the door to be opened at
any time using the inner lever handle. You should note this,
above all when using the fitting in publicly accessible doors
and doors through which the inner lever handle can be easily
accessed from the outside.
CAUTION
Unauthorised access
When delivered the Framed Door systems are in construction
site mode. Access is possible with any OPERTIS identifier,
even if they are not programmed.
Program the authorisations immediately after installation to
prevent unauthorised access; see eLOCK system
documentation software. Check time and if necessary reset.
