The Imagic IS 10x30 Monocular is supplied with an interchangeable 10x eyepiece. It can also be fitted with
a wide range of Opticron SDL, HDF and HR2/3 eyepieces (see below).

Monoculars can be a useful companion when travelling, going to sporting and leisure events or used as part
of a hobby such as birdwatching or astronomy. To help you get the best results from your equipment please
read the following instructions carefully.
Retractable rubber eyecups and wearing glasses
Imagic IS monoculars provide the full field of view when wearing glasses. To get the maximum field of
view with glasses on, turn the eyecup clockwise into the ‘down’ position. Remember to return them to the
upright position if you or anybody else wants to use them without glasses.
Using the Image Stabilisation System
Use the switch marked “ON/OFF” on the top of the scope body to activate and de-activate the image
stabilisation. When powered on, a green LED on the eyepiece end of the monocular body will illuminate. To
focus rotate the ring at the far end of the objective lens housing. If you are using an optional zoom eyepiece,
magnification is adjusted using the zoom ring on the eyepiece.
Please note that the stabilisation will NOT power off automatically so should be switched off manually when
not in use. When battery power is exhausted the monocular can be used without image stabilisation.
Batteries
Imagic IS monoculars are powered by 2x CR2 3V lithium batteries located at the back of the
main body. To change the batteries, unscrew the battery cover, replace batteries and screw
the cover back into place. Please recycle used batteries at your local recycling centre.
The batteries should be removed from the battery compartment if the device is not going to
be used for any length of time i.e. more than one month.
User Instructions

Care and cleaning. Monoculars require little maintenance but occasionally the outside surfaces of the
eyepieces and objective lenses will need cleaning. To avoid damaging these surfaces please read the
following carefully.
(i) Gently remove excess dirt and dust using compressed air or a lens cleaning brush.
Caution: Hard and persistent rubbing of dirty surfaces can cause abrasive scratches on the surface of the
glass which may distort viewing.
(ii) Breathe on exposed glass surface and then wipe with an optical cleaning cloth (code 30277) in a
circular motion until the surface is clean again.
Imagic IS Monoculars are waterproof to IPX5 standard and there are no user-serviceable parts inside. As
such, the product casing should not be opened except by trained service personnel. If your device develops a
fault, our Service Department is on hand to help you. Do not attempt to dismantle the instrument as this will
invalidate the guarantee.
Imagic IS Monoculars are rubber armoured and therefore will withstand the typical bumps and knocks that,
for example, a mobile phone or MP3 player would get in normal everyday use. Avoid dropping the device on
hard surfaces and take care not to crush the device if it is packed in a rucksack or case.
Cold weather. In cold weather the external lens surfaces may steam up when moving the instrument from
cooler air outside to warmer air inside. If this happens, leave the instrument to stand for a few minutes until
any condensation evaporates.
WARNING Never under any circumstances use a binocular to view the Sun. Doing so may cause serious
damage to your eyes.

Opticron Imagic IS monoculars are of a very high quality both in their performance and construction.
We guarantee some parts in these instruments for up to 10 years under the following conditions:
Image Stabilisation System
The stabilisation system and electronic components are guaranteed for 2 years from date of purchase.
Monocular (excluding image stabilisation system)
(i) In the case of defects attributable to faulty processing or materials, we will assume responsibility for the
labour and material costs during the first 5 years after purchase. We reserve the right to decide whether
defective parts should be repaired or replaced.
(ii) During the next 5 years we will assume responsibility for material costs only, charging corresponding
labour costs.
(iii) We will accept no liability for damage caused by incorrect use, or for any repairs or actions which have
been carried out outside our firm.
(iv) Parts such as carrying straps, rubber eyecups, rubberised coatings etc. are excluded from the guarantee.
This guarantee is in addition and does not affect your statutory rights.
