IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using your electrical appliances, basic safety precautions

of the appliance. Do not place any flammable materials on or close to the
Arepa Maker, such as paper, cardboard or plastic or any material that can be set afire
or melted.
• Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad
and touch electrical parts involving a risk of electrical shock.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use your OSTER

FAMILY SIZE AREPA in areas where there are no curtains or cabinets
that may be affected by the heat.
2. Use the unit in an open space that is well ventilated. Only use utensils that are heat
resistant.
3. Disconnnect your OSTER

FAMILY SIZE AREPA before you clean it or when it is not in
use.
4. Allow the unit to cool before you put it away for storage.
5. Do not leave the OSTER

POLARIZED PLUG INFORMATION
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk
of electric shock this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not
fit fully into the outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug in any way.
EXTENSION CORD USE
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from
becoming entangled in
or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used if care is exercised in its use. If an
extension cord is used, the electrical
rating of the cord must be at least as great as the electrical

The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the

The OSTER

FAMILY SIZE AREPA has two indicator lights as follows:
RED:Indicates that the OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA is plugged into
an electric source.
GREEN:Lights after the toast control dial is turned and begins warming the plates.
When the toast control dial reaches the zero position, a bell rings.
Once the the green light turns off the plates begin to cool down.

for the first time, please follow the
recommendations below:
1. Read and keep this instruction manual.
2. Plug the electric cord into an outlet. Use only voltage specified on bottom of
the unit.
3. Open the O
STER
®
F

by lifting up on the lock.
4. Clean the cooking plates with a dampened cloth. Wipe dry and condition
with a light coating of oil, butter or margarine.
5. Plug into outlet. The red light will go on. In order to start warming the O
STER
®
F
AMILY
S
IZE
A
REPA
, turn the toast control dial to its maximum setting and wait for
8 minutes before beginning to use.
6. Have the dough ready, divide it into equal portions. Using the palms of your hands,
roll portions of dough and place one (1) in each non-stick cavity, close the lid
and turn the toast control dial. For a second batch of Arepas immediately, put aside
the cooked Arepas, turn the toast control dial to avoid cooling down the plates and
place the dough in the cavities. As you get acquainted with your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE
AREPA, you will become familiar with the ideal quantity of dough needed to prepare
proper Arepas and the ideal cooking time needed by using the toast control dial.
7. In approximately 7 minutes, you will be able to enjoy 6 delicious Arepas.
8. The estimated cooking time to prepare well done Arepas is approximately 7 minutes.
However, if you prefer darker, golden brown Arepas, you can leave them in the
OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA for a few minutes longer.
CARE AND CLEANING
1. Clean the cooking plates with a soft cloth dampened with warm water.
2. If you wish to clean food residue stuck to the cooking plates, use a soft cloth
with oil while the plates are still warm.
3. It is important to remember that cleaning the appliance with abrasive cleansers
such as steel wool pads, scrubbing powders, bleach, etc., can damage the housing
and the cooking plates of your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA.
4. Wrap cord around unit after it has cooled and secure it with a twist tie.
5. No additional cleaning, servicing or maintenance is required.
Store your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA in a cool, dry place.

One-Year Limited Warranty

unbeam Products, Inc., or if in Canada, Sunbeam Corporation (Canada) Limited (collectively “Sunbeam”)
warrants that for a period of one year from the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects
in material and workmanship. Sunbeam, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component
of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will be made with a new
or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may be made
with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and
is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty
performance. Sunbeam dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling Sunbeam products do not have
the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following:

unbeam Products, Inc., or if in Canada, Sunbeam Corporation (Canada) Limited (collectively “Sunbeam”)
warrants that for a period of one year from the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects
in material and workmanship. Sunbeam, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component
of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will be made with a new
or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may be made
with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and
is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty

POLARIZED PLUG INFORMATION
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk
of electric shock this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not
fit fully into the outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

The OSTER

RED:Indicates that the OSTER

GREEN:Lights after the toast control dial is turned and begins warming the plates.
When the toast control dial reaches the zero position, a bell rings.
Once the the green light turns off the plates begin to cool down.

for the first time, please follow the
recommendations below:
1. Read and keep this instruction manual.
2. Plug the electric cord into an outlet. Use only voltage specified on bottom of
the unit.
3. Open the O
STER

by lifting up on the lock.
4. Clean the cooking plates with a dampened cloth. Wipe dry and condition
with a light coating of oil, butter or margarine.
5. Plug into outlet. The red light will go on. In order to start warming the O
STER
®
F
AMILY
S
IZE
A
REPA
, turn the toast control dial to its maximum setting and wait for
8 minutes before beginning to use.
6. Have the dough ready, divide it into equal portions. Using the palms of your hands,
roll portions of dough and place one (1) in each non-stick cavity, close the lid
and turn the toast control dial. For a second batch of Arepas immediately, put aside
the cooked Arepas, turn the toast control dial to avoid cooling down the plates and
place the dough in the cavities. As you get acquainted with your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE
AREPA, you will become familiar with the ideal quantity of dough needed to prepare
proper Arepas and the ideal cooking time needed by using the toast control dial.
7. In approximately 7 minutes, you will be able to enjoy 6 delicious Arepas.
8. The estimated cooking time to prepare well done Arepas is approximately 7 minutes.
However, if you prefer darker, golden brown Arepas, you can leave them in the
OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA for a few minutes longer.
CARE AND CLEANING
1. Clean the cooking plates with a soft cloth dampened with warm water.
2. If you wish to clean food residue stuck to the cooking plates, use a soft cloth
with oil while the plates are still warm.
3. It is important to remember that cleaning the appliance with abrasive cleansers
such as steel wool pads, scrubbing powders, bleach, etc., can damage the housing
and the cooking plates of your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA.
4. Wrap cord around unit after it has cooled and secure it with a twist tie.
5. No additional cleaning, servicing or maintenance is required.
Store your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA in a cool, dry place.

7. In approximately 7 minutes, you will be able to enjoy 6 delicious Arepas.
8. The estimated cooking time to prepare well done Arepas is approximately 7 minutes.
However, if you prefer darker, golden brown Arepas, you can leave them in the

CARE AND CLEANING
1. Clean the cooking plates with a soft cloth dampened with warm water.
2. If you wish to clean food residue stuck to the cooking plates, use a soft cloth
with oil while the plates are still warm.
3. It is important to remember that cleaning the appliance with abrasive cleansers
such as steel wool pads, scrubbing powders, bleach, etc., can damage the housing
and the cooking plates of your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA.
4. Wrap cord around unit after it has cooled and secure it with a twist tie.

POLARIZED PLUG INFORMATION
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk
of electric shock this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not

Once the the green light turns off the plates begin to cool down.

POLARIZED PLUG INFORMATION
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk
of electric shock this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not
fit fully into the outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

EXTENSION CORD USE
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from

The OSTER

FAMILY SIZE AREPA has two indicator lights as follows:
RED:Indicates that the OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA is plugged into
an electric source.
GREEN:Lights after the toast control dial is turned and begins warming the plates.
When the toast control dial reaches the zero position, a bell rings.
Once the the green light turns off the plates begin to cool down.

for the first time, please follow the
recommendations below:
1. Read and keep this instruction manual.
2. Plug the electric cord into an outlet. Use only voltage specified on bottom of
the unit.
3. Open the O

by lifting up on the lock.
4. Clean the cooking plates with a dampened cloth. Wipe dry and condition
with a light coating of oil, butter or margarine.
5. Plug into outlet. The red light will go on. In order to start warming the O
STER
®
F
AMILY
S
IZE
A
REPA
, turn the toast control dial to its maximum setting and wait for
8 minutes before beginning to use.
6. Have the dough ready, divide it into equal portions. Using the palms of your hands,
roll portions of dough and place one (1) in each non-stick cavity, close the lid
and turn the toast control dial. For a second batch of Arepas immediately, put aside
the cooked Arepas, turn the toast control dial to avoid cooling down the plates and
place the dough in the cavities. As you get acquainted with your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE
AREPA, you will become familiar with the ideal quantity of dough needed to prepare
proper Arepas and the ideal cooking time needed by using the toast control dial.
7. In approximately 7 minutes, you will be able to enjoy 6 delicious Arepas.
8. The estimated cooking time to prepare well done Arepas is approximately 7 minutes.
However, if you prefer darker, golden brown Arepas, you can leave them in the
OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA for a few minutes longer.
CARE AND CLEANING
1. Clean the cooking plates with a soft cloth dampened with warm water.
2. If you wish to clean food residue stuck to the cooking plates, use a soft cloth
with oil while the plates are still warm.
3. It is important to remember that cleaning the appliance with abrasive cleansers
such as steel wool pads, scrubbing powders, bleach, etc., can damage the housing
and the cooking plates of your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA.
4. Wrap cord around unit after it has cooled and secure it with a twist tie.
5. No additional cleaning, servicing or maintenance is required.
Store your OSTER
®
FAMILY SIZE AREPA in a cool, dry place.

unbeam Products, Inc., or if in Canada, Sunbeam Corporation (Canada) Limited (collectively “Sunbeam”)
warrants that for a period of one year from the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects
in material and workmanship. Sunbeam, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component
of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will be made with a new
or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may be made
with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and
is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty
performance. Sunbeam dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling Sunbeam products do not have
the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following:
negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating

service center. Further, the warranty does not cover: Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and

Sunbeam shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any
express, implied or statutory warranty or condition.
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability
