Safety Notes

• To eliminate unnecessary wear and improve its lifespan, during periods of non-use completely disconnect the
product from power via breaker or by unplugging it.

AC Power
This product has an auto-ranging power supply that can work with an input voltage range of 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
Power Linking
You can link up to 13 Ovation B-565FC products at 120 V, 22 products at 208 V, or 23 products at 230 V. Never exceed
this number. Power linking cords can be purchased separately.

Replacing the Fuse
1. Disconnect this product from power.
2. Using a Phillips #2 head screwdriver, unscrew the fuse holder cap from the housing.
3. Remove blown fuse and replace with a good fuse of the same type and rating.
4. Screw the fuse holder cap back in place and reconnect power.
Signal Connections
You can link the Ovation B-565FC to a controller or controller software using a DMX connection or an Ethernet
connection. If using other Art-Net™ or sACN-compatible products with the Ovation B-565FC, you can control each
individually on a single network. See the User Manual for information about how to connect and configure the product for
these signals.
Control Personalities
The Ovation B-565FC uses DMX, Art-Net™, and sACN for its 17 control personalities, ranging from 3CH to 31CH in
1-cell modes and 2-cell modes:
DMX Connection
The Ovation B-565FC will work with a DMX controller using a 3- or 5-pin DMX data connection. A DMX Primer is
available from www.chauvetprofessional.com.
Art-Net™ Connection
Art-Net™ is an Ethernet protocol that uses TCP/IP which transfers a large amount of DMX512 data using an Neutrik®
etherCON® RJ45 connection over a large network. An Art-Net™ protocol document is available from
www.chauvetprofessional.com. Chauvet Professional recommends using unicast Art-Net™ for best results.

sACN Connection
Also known as ANSI E1.31, Streaming-ACN is an Ethernet protocol that uses the layering and formatting of Architecture
for Control Networks to transport DMX512 data over IP or any otherACN compatible network. ACN is maintained by the
Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA).
Master/Slave Connection
The Ovation B-565FC uses the DMX data connection for its Master/Slave mode. See the User Manual for information
about connect and configure the product for master/slave operation.

RDM (Remote Device Management)
Remote Device Management, or RDM, is a standard for allowing DMX-enabled devices to communicate bi-directionally
along existing DMX cabling. The Ovation B-565FC supports RDM protocol that allows feedback to monitor temperature
and changes to DMX Address and DMX Channel menu options. Download the User Manual from
www.chauvetprofessional.com for more details.
Mounting
Before mounting this product, read the Safety Notes. Use at least one mounting point per product. Make sure the
mounting clamps are capable of supporting the weight of the product. For our CHAUVET Professional line of mounting

Web Server
The Ovation B-565FC Web Server can be accessed by any computer on the same network as the product. It allows
network access to system information, settings such as control protocol and starting address, color output testing, and
the ability to change the Web Server password.
To access the Web Server:
1. Set the IP address of the network to have the same first digit as the IP address of the product.
2. Enter the IP address of the product into the URL bar of a web browser application.
3. Enter both the user name and password as admin to log in.

Virtual Color Wheel
The Ovation B-565FC includes a feature called the Virtual Color Wheel (VCW). This feature is available as a stand-alone
control mode for manual use and also as a control channel in each of the products’ DMX personalities. Over thirty pre-
mixed colors based on popular gel colors from are available to call up for easier programming. When manually selecting
the colors on the Virtual Color Wheel, the referenced gel number appears on the LED display for convenient selection
and ease-of-use.
Virtual Color Wheel Chart
These formulas were developed to match a gelled tungsten lamp. When developing the above
formulas, the master dimmer on the Ovation B-565FC was adjusted to match the gelled output of
the tungsten fixture. Please note that due to the efficacy of the light source, Virtual Color Wheel
output may look different from the gelled equivalent on a tungsten source at full intensity. The
master dimmer values may need to be adjusted to match the tungsten fixture in the most
saturated colors.
