Precautions and Notices for Safety
Please read these safety instructions to ensure you use your handset correctly.
Precautions
• Turn your Pearl+ off in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
• Turn your Pearl+ off during a ight.
• Do not use your Pearl+ whilst driving.
• Be aware of the details on electromagnetic waves of your Pearl+.
• Do not touch your Pearl+ or its power plug with a wet hand.
• Do not remodel, disassemble, or repair your Pearl+ on your own.
• Use only approved batteries and accessories.
• Use the standard charger acquired with a TTA certied mark.
• Do not keep your Pearl+ in or near a source of heating, like an oven or microwave oven.

functionality of your Pearl+ mobile go to www.oysta-technology.com. It should be noted that the
Pearl+ mobile will only operate in conjunction with the MyOysta service.

1. Introduction
The Pearl+ mobile is a powerful GPS location device which is small in size and lightweight. It
is designed for personal security and has an inbuilt emergency button as well as a motion sen-
sor. Both these features ensure direct contact to your chosen control centre or emergency num-
ber should you encounter a difcult or threatening situation. As your location will be known, the
control centre or emergency contact can deal with the situation efciently and effectively.
The Pearl+ is a quadband device and will work on GSM frequencies 850, 900, 1800 and 1900.
The Pearl+ mobile offers controlled dialling by allowing up to 20 numbers to be called which are
pre-programmed in the MyOysta website.
When the emergency button is activated, the Pearl+ will immediately call and send its location
information to the nominated emergency telephone number or control centre.

5. Installing the SIM card
Remove the charger if connected and turn the phone off. Open the back cover of the Oysta
Pearl+ and remove the battery. Insert the SIM card as shown below, ensuring the gold-coloured
contact area of the SIM card is facing downward on the device.
Close the SIM card holder and move it to the right to lock. Slide the battery back in and push it
down to lock it into position. Next, place the back cover back in place.

6. Charging the battery
First connect the charger to the interface on the bottom of the
device as shown below.
Next, connect the charger to an AC wall socket. A message
on the screen will conrm that the charger is connected.
The battery charge level indicator at the top right of the
screen will indicate the Oysta Pearl+ is charging.
Please note that you can use the Oysta Pearl+ while it is charging.
If the Oysta Pearl+ is not switched on when you are charging it the
battery charge level indicator will still be visible on the screen.
When the battery charge level Indicator is full and has stopped ashing,
the charging process is complete and the charger can be disconnected.
Charging the battery usually takes between 1 and 2.5 hours depending on the
state of the battery.

The phone panel consists of nine buttons.

8. Button detail
Power/Key lock button
Hold down this key to turn on / turn off the
Oysta Pearl+. When in the standby mode,
press this key to lock/unlock the keypad.
Support/SOS button
Hold down this key to dial the SOS number.
Even when the keypad is locked user can still
press the SOS key.
Menu/Conrm/Answer call button
When in the standby mode, press this key to
enter the main menu. The left soft key can
be used to perform the action displayed in
the lower left corner of the screen. Select a
contact and then press this key to make a call.
In case of an incoming call, press this key to
answer the call.
Volume button
When in the standby mode, press this key
to increase or decrease the keypad volume;
When in a call, press this key to Increase
or decrease the voice volume. When in the
menu, press this key to navigate up or down.
Use this key to set an alarm time.
Back/Cancel/End call button
The right soft key can be used to perform the
action displayed in the lower right corner
of the screen. Press this key to end a call.
In case of an incoming call, press this key to
reject the call. On standby, hold down this key
to switch the device to silent mode (or normal
mode)
Pre-programmable speed dial buttons
When in the standby mode, press this key to
show the pre-programmed contact(s), then
press the ‘Conrm’ button to call.

10. Operating your Pearl+ mobile
10.1 Switching your Pearl+ mobile on/off
To Turn on: Press the power/key lock button
for at least 3 seconds until the screen
displays a welcome message. The icons in the
screen will indicate when the Pearl+ mobile
registers with the GSM network. To turn off:
Press the Power/Hang up button for at least 3
seconds to switch the Pearl+ mobile off.
10.2 Call/Answer
Press the Call/Answer button to answer an
incoming call.
10.3 Adjust the volume
Whilst on a call, press the upper part of the
volume button to increase the volume, and
press the lower part of the volume button to
decrease the volume.
10.4 Make a phone call
You can store 20 pre-programmed numbers
in your Pearl+ mobile. When you want to
call one of the numbers, rst press the menu
button, scroll down until ‘Contact’, and click
on ‘OK’. Scroll to a number in the ‘Controlled
Contact’ list and then press the Call/Answer
button.
You can call any of the rst 4 contacts in the
list by using the speed dial buttons on the
standby screen, by pressing the number, then
the Call/Answer key. Press the Power/Hang
up button to end the call.

10.5 SOS/Support Button
When activated, the Pearl+ SOS/Support
button will immediately call and send its
location information to the nominated
emergency telephone number or control
centre.
10.6 Auto Answer
The Auto Answer function can be used
when a user is in an emergency and unable
to receive a call by pressing the Call/Answer
button. The Auto Answer function is set up
on the MyOysta website. When Auto Answer
is activated, the microphone volume will
automatically be set to the maximum level
and the speaker volume to the medium level.
