The OZ BUILDER’S HOIST is designed for use on commercial buildings sites and in various
construction workplaces, warehouses, storage facilities and factories.

NOTE: Ensure the hoist is mounted on a straight bar or one of OZ Lifting Products, LLC®’s
mounting solutions, which only allows the hoist to swing backward and forward and not left
to right or swing 360°. Failure to do this could result in uneven winding of rope onto the drum,
rope jamming, and rope damage.
ONE YEAR WARRANTY
OZ Lifting Products, LLC®guarantees this product to be free of defects in materials and workmanship
for one year from the date of shipment.
This warranty does not apply to products that show signs of misuse, overloading, alteration, improper
maintenance or negligence. The normal wear and tear of moving parts is excluded from the warranty.
Moving parts are dened as brake discs, wire rope and other wear components that are subject to
use conditions. This warranty does not cover any costs related to removal of this product, lost time, or
any other incidental or consequential damages/costs resulting from the claimed defects.
If this product fails during the rst year of operating due to defective materials or workmanship, it
will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of OZ Lifting Products, LLC®. Any product subject to a
warranty claim must be returned, prepaid, to an authorized OZ Lifting Products, LLC®warranty depot
along with proof of purchase. Upon repair, the product will be returned to the customer free of charge.
If no defect is found,the customer will be responsible for return shipping costs. The product’s warranty
will be effective for the remainder of the original warranty period (one year from shipment date).
OZ Lifting Products, LLC®will not be held liable for the following arising from the use of this product:
injuries to persons or property, death, incidental, consequential, or contingent damages, whether
negligent or deliberate. It is the sole responsibility of the owner to install and operate the product
properly and safely.
This is OZ Lifting Products, LLC®‘s only written warranty. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties
implied by law such as merchantability and tness. The sale of products from OZ Lifting Products,
LLC®under any other warranty or guarantee, expressed or implied, is not authorized.

DUTY CYCLE:
NOTE: Never exceed the duty cycle of the hoist. The duty cycle for OZ BUILDER’S HOIST
is 15 continuous minutes or 150 starts per hour. Please follow these ratings.
The life of the hoist depends on attention to the load and to working frequency. Use the hoist only
within its duty cycle.
With any electric motor, it is important to let the motor cool after reaching the duty cycle.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION:
It is highly recommended that the electrical connections to the hoist be removed to prevent damage
to the connectors for storage, transportation or shipping of hoist.
Removal of the pendant and power connectors prior to any of the above listed will prevent
expensive damage to the unit.”

CAUTION
Very important when connecting the wire rope to the bottom hook the cable must
run on the outside of the lower limit bar. If ran on the inside of the bar damage will
happen to the wire rope and the hoist.

NOTE: The power cord and control cord are different plug types and cannot be
interchanged.
MOUNTING:
Ensure the hoist is mounted on a straight bar that allows only for front-to-back swinging, not left-to-right or
rotational swinging. Failure to do so could result in uneven winding of rope onto the drum, rope jamming and rope
damage. When hanging the hoist, ensure it is free from other obstructions. Always keep the hoist as level as
possible to prevent uneven winding.
NOTE: Always lock the hanger before every lift.
CONNECTING THE CORDS:
POWER/SWITCH CORD:
1) Align the cords with the matching socket on the power receptacle of the hoist.
Tighten the locking ring clockwise.
2) Secure the cords with the strain relief clips. These clips are attached to the
cords and secures to a ring on the hoist to reduce cable strain. Do not allow the
cords to come into contact with the wire rope or drum.

The winch designed to be hanged or mounted on a firm or stable bar or a bracket. When
hanging, do not allow the body or load to be caught by any construction of frame, or
other obstruction. Be sure to lock the hanger for extra safety.

To prevent the risk of electric shock, the power plug must be plugged into a
matching outlet in good condition.

WORKING METHODS:
PREPARATION:
• Conrm a safe working environment prior to operation.
• Ensure a minimum of ve (5) wraps of wire rope is wound around the drum.
• Discard wire rope that shows signs of excessive wear or broken wires. Look for
corrosion or other defects.
• Connect the main power source. There will be a loss of power if input voltage falls
out of rated voltage by +10%.
• Do not lift loads exceeding the rated load.
UP-AND-DOWN SWITCHING:
Press the up button and the drum will take in cable, lifting the load. Press the down button and the drum will
let out cable, lowering the load. To stop the drum, release the button. In case of emergency, push the red
button to stop operation of the hoist.
WINCH PRINCIPLES:
PERCENTAGE DUTY CYCLE:
The life of the winch is depending on the conditions of the load and working frequency. In the long
time operation, make sure to use the machine within its short time ratings. Short time ratings means
the working duty cycle is subject to the rated voltage, rated frequency and a 63% of rated load. All
mini winches are rated 25% percentage duty cycle.
LOAD RATED:
BRAKING:
• Braking device is composed of a mechanic brake and an electronic generated brake.
The brake distance from the time of braking until stopping completely should be within
1.5% of rope length to the wound in during 1 minute.
• Owing to the rope speed on no load is 1.5 -1.8 times faster than that on rated load,
the brake distance on no load will be longer, but still within 1.5% of rope length.
• It is highly recommended that any adjustments are carried out by a qualied technician
at an authorized service center.
WARNING Never hoist over the rated percentage duty cycle.

Step 2. Tighten 3rd gear / 4th shaft counter-clockwise until holding to the ratchet.
Step 3. Find the closed pole between spring pins and fit plate
(one between four selections), then put the fix plate onto the square hole
of 3rd or 4th shaft.
Step 4. Insert spring pins and lock retaining ring.

OIL LUBRICATION:
Winches are pre-oiled at the factory and do not require initial lubrication.
Re-lubrication interval depends upon service. Recommended oil
replenishment quantity & intervals are as follows.
Model# OBH500 / OBH1000 Oil Grade: HD680 or equivalent
Oil Amount: 8.45 oz. Intervals: As needed
CARBON BRUSH REPLACEMENT:
• It is essential to check the carbon brushes periodically.
• If the length is less than .30 in. replace carbon brushes immediately.
• While replacing, smoothly insert carbon brush into carbon holder.
• Before tightening the carbon brush holder, make sure to position
the O ring.
WARNING
Clean the accumulated powder off carbon
brushes periodically.

●A special mechanism prevents an over-winding
when lifting.
●When the weight hook touches the limit lever.
Lifting is automatically stopped.
●However, if the limit lever is set too close to the
winch body, it will cause serious damage to the
limit lever and the winch body.
●A suggested distance (S) between the limit lever
and winch bottom is as follows.
4.4 Over-winding Lift Prevention
4.5 Reverse-Winding Prevention
●A special mechanism prevents a reverse-winding
when lowering.
●When lowering, a wire rope is fully extended,
the wire rope will be shifted its position from O to X.
●When a wire rope touches the limit lever of
over-winding prevention device. Lowing will be
automatically stopped.
●When the wire rope is shifted to the position of X,
pull it and press the ↑ button to return its position to O.
5. Maintenance and Replacement
5.1 Carbon Brush Replacement
WARNING Clean the accumulated powder of carbon brush
periodically to ascertain the insulation resistance
up to 1 MΩ.
●It is essential to check the carbon brush periodically. If its
length is left less than 7.5 mm resulting from wear, it is
absolute necessary to replace carbon brush immediately.
While replacing, smoothly insert carbon brush into carbon●
holder in the first place, then put brush cap into the hole.
Before tightening the carbon brush holder, make sure to●
position O-ring.
A set of carbon brush consists 2 piece of carbon brush.●
Ascertain to replace 2 pieces of carbon brush on opposite
sides of winch body at the same time.

WIRE ROPE REPLACEMENT:
WEIGHT HOOK:
• Put a new wire rope through the hole of the round plate of weight hook.
• Insert a sleeve pin through the thimble of wire rope.
• Insert a pin through the sleeve and bend it by pliers.
DRUM:
• Insert new wire rope with swaged end through the limit lever and insert it into the hole of the drum.
• Put the P.T. screw into the hole of the drum and tighten it by a hexagon wrench.
• Press the ↑ button to rotate the drum in the lifting direction.
• An uneven winding of wire rope may cause the load to be swing, that will damage the rope and
reducing its service life.

5.2 Wire Rope Replacement

●Put a new wire rope through the hole of the round plate of weight hook.
●Insert a sleeve pin through the thimble of wire rope.
●Insert a pin through the sleeve pin and bent it by pliers.
Drum
●Let a new wire rope w/clamp through the limit lever and insert it into the
hole of the drum.
●Put a P.T. screw into the hole of the drum and tighten it by a hexagon
wrench.
●Press the ↑ button to rotate the drum in the lifting direction.
●An uneven winding of wire rope may cause the load to be swing, that will
damage the rope and reducing its service life.
5.3 Oil Lubrication
Gear lubrication is an important component in insuring the
long life of your winch. The type of lubricant will have a great
influence. Winch are pre-lubricated at the factory and do not
require initial lubrication. Re-lubrication interval depends
upon service. Consult your local lubricant distributor on the
selection that best fits your climate and application.

de montage de OZ Lifting Products, LLC ®, ce qui permet uniquement au palan de pivoter vers
l’arrière et l’avant, et non de gauche à droite ou de pivoter à 360°. Dans le cas contraire, le cordon
pourrait s’enrouler inégalement sur le tambour, être bloqué ou endommagé.

Si ce produit tombe en panne dans la première année pour cause de fabrication ou de conception, il sera
réparé ou remplacé à la discrétion de OZ Lifting Products LLC®. Tout produit sous garantie pour lequel
il y a réclamation doit être retourné prépayé à un dépôt de garantie de OZ Lifting Products LLC®avec
preuve d’achat. Une fois réparé, le produit sera retourné au client sans frais. S’il devait s’avérer qu’il n’y
avait aucune défectuosité, les frais d’expédition de retour seront imputés au client. La garantie du produit
continuera pour le reste de la période originale (un an à compter de la date d’expédition).

CYCLE DE SERVICE :
REMARQUE : ne jamais dépasser le cycle de service du palan. Le cycle de service du PALAN
DE CONSTRUCTION DE OZ est de 15 minutes en continu ou de 150 démarrages à l’heure.
Prière de respecter ces limites.
La durée de vie du palan dépend de l’attention qu’on porte à la charge et à la fréquence de travail.
Utiliser le palan en respectant son cycle de service seulement.
Comme pour tout moteur électrique, vous devez le laisser refroidir après qu’il a atteint son cycle
de service.
MESURES DE SÉCURITÉ :
ENTREPOSAGE ET TRANSPORT :
Il est fortement recommandé de retirer les raccords électriques au palan pour éviter d’endommager les
connecteurs pour l’entreposage, le transport ou l’expédition du palan.
Le retrait du gland et des raccords d’alimentation avant ce qui précède évitera des dommages coûteux à
l’appareil.

Lors du raccord du câble métallique au crochet inférieur, il est très important que le
câble longe l’extérieur de la barre limite inférieure. S’il longe l’intérieur de la barre, le
câble métallique et le palan seront endommagés.

REMARQUE : Le cordon d’alimentation et le cordon de commande comptent des types de che
différents et ne sont pas interchangeables.
MONTAGE :
S’assurer que le palan est monté sur une barre droite qui lui permet de se balancer vers l’avant et vers l’arrière
seulement et non de gauche à droite ou de pivoter. Dans le cas contraire, le cordon pourrait s’enrouler inégalement
sur le tambour, être bloqué ou endommagé. Lorsque vous suspendez le palan, s’assurer qu’il n’y a aucune
obstruction alentour. Toujours garder le palan aussi à niveau que possible pour éviter que l’enroulement soit inégal.
REMARQUE : toujours verrouiller la bride de suspension avant de lever.
CONNECTER LES CORDONS :
CORDON D’ALIMENTATION/D’INTERRUPTEUR :
1) Aligner les cordons avec la douille correspondante sur la prise d’alimentation
électrique du palan. Serrer l’anneau de blocage dans le sens horaire.
2) Fixer les cordons avec la pince de réduction de tension. Ces pinces sont
attachées aux cordons et se xent à un anneau sur le palan pour réduire la
tension sur le câble. Ne pas laisser les cordons entrer en contact avec le câble
métallique ou le tambour.
SÉLECTION DE LONGUEUR DE CORDON D’ALIMENTATION :

MISE À LA TERRE :
Pour éviter le risque d’électrocution, la che d’alimentation électrique doit être

MÉTHODES DE TRAVAIL :
PRÉPARATION :
• Conrmer que le milieu de travail est sûr avant de faire fonctionner.
• S’assurer que le cordon a été entortillé au moins cinq (5) fois autour du tambour.
• Éliminer le câble métallique dont l’usure est excessive ou les ls sont brisés. Vérier la
présence de corrosion ou d’autres anomalies.
• Brancher la source d’alimentation principale. Une panne de courant se produira si la
tension d’entrée varie de plus de 10 % de la tension nominale.
• Ne pas lever des charges qui dépassent la capacité de charge.
INTERRUPTEUR VERS LE HAUT/BAS :
Appuyer sur le bouton vers le haut; le tambour enroulera le câble, soulevant la charge. Appuyer sur le bouton vers
le bas; le tambour déroulera le câble, baissant la charge. Pour arrêter le tambour, appuyer sur le bouton. En cas
d’urgence, appuyer sur le bouton rouge pour arrêter le palan.
PRINCIPES DU TREUIL :
POURCENTAGE DU CYCLE DE SERVICE :
La durée de vie du treuil dépend des conditions de charge et de la fréquence de travail. Quand elle
fonctionne longtemps, s’assurer d’utiliser la machine pendant sa valeur nominale de courte durée. La
valeur nominale de courte durée est le cycle de service soumis à la tension nominale, à la fréquence
nominale et à une charge nominale de 63 %. Tous les mini treuils ont un cycle de service de 25 %.
CHARGE NOMINALE :
FREINAGE :
• Le dispositif de freinage est composé d’un frein mécanique et d’un frein généré
électroniquement. La distance entre le moment où le frein est appliqué et l’arrêt complet doit
être de moins de 1,5 % de la longueur d’enroulement de la corde pendant 1 minute.
• Parce que la vitesse de la corde sans charge est de 1,5 à 1,8 fois plus rapide que celle avec
charge nominale, la distance de freinage sans charge sera plus longue, mais toujours à moins
de 1,5 % de la longueur de la corde.
• Il est fortement recommandé que tout ajustement soit effectué par un technicien qualié dans
un centre de service autorisé.

4.1 Percentage Duty Cycle
Never hoist over the rated percentage duty cycle.
WARNING
The life of the winch is depending on the conditions of the load and working frequency.
In the long time operation, make sure to use the machine within its short time ratings.
Short time ratings means the working duty cycle is subject to the rated voltage, rated
frequency and a 63% of rated load. All mini winches are rated 25% percentage duty cycle.

●Braking device is composed of a mechanic brake and an electronic generated brake.
The brake distance from the time of braking until stopping completely should be within
1.5% of rope length to the wound in during 1 minute.
●Owing to the rope speed on no load is 1.5 -1.8 times faster than that on rated load,
the brake distance on no load will be longer, but still within 1.5% of rope length.
●It is highly recommended that any adjustments are carried out by a qualified technician
at an authorized service center.
●Brake adjustment procedures.
Step 1. Remove retaining ring and spring pin.
Step 2. Tighten 3rd gear / 4th shaft counter-clockwise until holding to the ratchet.
Step 3. Find the closed pole between spring pins and fit plate
(one between four selections), then put the fix plate onto the square hole
of 3rd or 4th shaft.

LUBRIFICATION À L’HUILE :
Les treuils sont lubriés en usine et n’ont pas besoin de lubrication initiale.
L’intervalle de relubrication dépend de l’entretien. Les quantités et les
intervalles de relubrication sont les suivants.

REMPLACEMENT DE BALAI DE CARBONE :
• Il est important de vérier les balais de carbone périodiquement.
• Si la longueur est de moins de 0,30 po, remplacer les balais de carbone
immédiatement.
• Au moment de remplacement, insérer doucement le balai de carbone
dans le support de carbone.
• Avant de serrer le support de balai de carbone, s’assurer de positionner
le joint torique.
AVERTISSEMENT
Nettoyer la poudre accumulée sur les balais
de carbone périodiquement.
REMPLACEMENT DU CÂBLE MÉTALLIQUE :
CROCHET DE POIDS :
• Insérer un nouveau câble métallique dans le trou de la plaque ronde du crochet de poids.
• Insérer une goupille de sécurité dans la cosse du câble métallique.
• Insérer une goupille dans le manchon et la plier avec des pinces.
TAMBOUR :
• Insérer le nouveau câble métallique avec l’extrémité pressée à travers le levier de n de course et
l’insérer dans le trou du tambour.
• Insérer la vis à pointe dans le trou du tambour et la serrer à l’aide d’une clé hexagonale.
• Appuyer sur le bouton ↑ pour faire pivoter le tambour dans le sens de levage.
• Si l’enroulement du câble métallique est inégal, la charge peut se balancer, endommageant le câble et
réduisant sa durée de vie.

4.4 Over-winding Lift Prevention
4.5 Reverse-Winding Prevention
●A special mechanism prevents a reverse-winding
when lowering.
●When lowering, a wire rope is fully extended,
the wire rope will be shifted its position from O to X.
●When a wire rope touches the limit lever of
over-winding prevention device. Lowing will be
automatically stopped.
●When the wire rope is shifted to the position of X,
pull it and press the ↑ button to return its position to O.
5. Maintenance and Replacement
5.1 Carbon Brush Replacement
WARNING Clean the accumulated powder of carbon brush
periodically to ascertain the insulation resistance
up to 1 MΩ.
●It is essential to check the carbon brush periodically. If its
length is left less than 7.5 mm resulting from wear, it is
absolute necessary to replace carbon brush immediately.
While replacing, smoothly insert carbon brush into carbon●
holder in the first place, then put brush cap into the hole.
Before tightening the carbon brush holder, make sure to●
position O-ring.
A set of carbon brush consists 2 piece of carbon brush.●
Ascertain to replace 2 pieces of carbon brush on opposite
sides of winch body at the same time.

5.2 Wire Rope Replacement

●Put a new wire rope through the hole of the round plate of weight hook.
●Insert a sleeve pin through the thimble of wire rope.
●Insert a pin through the sleeve pin and bent it by pliers.
Drum
●Let a new wire rope w/clamp through the limit lever and insert it into the
hole of the drum.
●Put a P.T. screw into the hole of the drum and tighten it by a hexagon
wrench.
●Press the ↑ button to rotate the drum in the lifting direction.
●An uneven winding of wire rope may cause the load to be swing, that will
damage the rope and reducing its service life.
5.3 Oil Lubrication
Gear lubrication is an important component in insuring the
long life of your winch. The type of lubricant will have a great
influence. Winch are pre-lubricated at the factory and do not
require initial lubrication. Re-lubrication interval depends
