General Safety Information
Guidelines
This general safety information serves as a guide to correctly operate OZ Lifting Products, LLC®. Anyone operating this
equipment must read and understand all of the manuals that are included with OZ Lifting Products, LLC®.
Safety Symbols
The words DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION are used throughout the safety messages and decals in the manual or on
the equipment. Statements with one of these words indicates a safety risk is involved. Be sure to observe the precautions
indicated whenever a Safety Alert Symbol is present.

Safety Precautions
The information in this manual applies to Davit Cranes and the Wheel Base by OZ Lifting Products, LLC®.
This manual contains general instructions for normal installation, operation, and maintenance of the product described
herein. The information provided should not be expected to prepare the user for all possible circumstances.
This product should not be installed, operated, or maintained by any person who has not read all the contents of this
manual. Failure to read and comply with these instructions, warnings, or limitations may result in bodily injury, death, or
property damage.
It is the responsibility of the owner/user to install, test, maintain, and operate this product in accordance with OSHA
regulations as well as all other federal, state, and local regulations. Only trained and qualified personnel shall operate
and maintain this product.
Regularly inspect the Wheel Base by OZ Lifting Products, LLC®for signs of wear, elongation of holes, surface cracks,
gouges, damage or any abnormal conditions.
Product owners should schedule and keep record of regular inspection and maintenance performed. There is a
maintenance chart included in the back of this book. Record your Wheel Base by OZ Lifting Products, LLC®serial
number and purchase date in this manual for reference.
Do not use the Wheel Base by OZ Lifting Products, LLC®in conjunction with other equipment unless the necessary
safety devices are in place. Modifications to this product is only authorized by the original manufacturer.

Safety Warnings
Failure to read and comply with the following warnings may result in a hazardous situation that could lead to death,
serious injury, or property damage. Keep this manual near the equipment at all times. Do not remove, alter, or obscure
the labels attached to the winch. Contact OZ Lifting Products, LLC®for replacement manuals and labels.
WARNING Failure to read and comply with the following warnings may result in a hazardous
situation that could lead to death, serious injury, or property damage.
DO NOT operate a damaged or malfunctioning product.
DO NOT lift more than the rated load of the crane or its attached components.
DO NOT use additional cranes to move a load that is heavier than the load rating of any single crane in use.
DO NOT modify this product in any way.
DO NOT use for other functions except those for which this product is intended.
DO NOT remove, deface, or obscure warning labels.
DO NOT allow load to swing or jerk. Operate smoothly to avoid shock loads.
DO NOT lift any load that is not located directly below the crane. This product is not intended to drag a load sideways.
DO NOT wrap the load with the wire rope. Use only a sling or another manufacturer-approved device.
DO NOT operate without at least four (4) anchor wraps of wire rope around the winch drum.
DO NOT operate without assuring wire rope is securely attached to the winch drum.
DO NOT operate without checking for proper lubrication.
DO NOT put hands in areas with moving parts such as sheaves, wire ropes, and gears.
DO NOT lift people.
DO NOT lift loads over people.
DO NOT operate until personnel are warned of approaching loads and are cleared from the area.
DO NOT leave a suspended load unattended.
DO NOT substitute smaller diameter pins. Use only the pins supplied with the crane.
DO NOT use chains, cables, or rigid devices to lift crane. Nylon or other synthetic slings should be used instead.
DO NOT use on unlevel or uneven ground.

Safety Labels
Label Identification
Safety labels are placed on the equipment to protect anyone working on or around this equipment, as well as the
components of the equipment. All personnel operating or maintaining this equipment must familiarize themselves with
the safety labels.
The safety labels are color coded to warn the operator of the various levels of machine hazards. The safety label
example below defines a standard industry label.
Make sure all safety labels are in place and clearly readable. Replace any damaged or missing safety labels with a
factory replacement label.

Thank you for your decision to purchase OZ Lifting Products, LLC®. To ensure maximum performance of your equipment,
it is mandatory that you thoroughly study the Operator’s Manual and follow the recommendations. Proper operation and
maintenance are essential to maximize equipment life and prevent personal injury.
The purpose of this manual is to familiarize and instruct the operator.
Safety is of primary importance to the owner/operator and to the manufacturer. The first section of this manual includes a
list of Safety Messages that, if followed, will help protect the operator and bystanders from injury or death. Many of the
Safety Messages will be repeated throughout the manual. The owner/operator should know these Safety Messages and
be aware of the hazards of operating and maintaining this equipment. Operate and maintain this equipment in a safe
manner and in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes, regulations and / or laws. Follow all on
product labeling and instructions.
Make sure that all personnel have read this Operator’s Manual and thoroughly understand safe and correct operating,
installation and maintenance procedures.

Assembling The Wheel Base
NOTE: Study the Wheel Base components Illustration (Figure 1) on page 12 to familiarize yourself with the
Wheel Base components and how they are assembled.
1. Install the two front caster wheels (Item 1) to the telescoping legs (Item 2) with the greaseable bolts and nuts provided
(Item 3). Torque the nuts to thirty (30) foot-pounds.

3. Install the two detent pins with pull rings (Item 1) to secure the two telescoping leg/wheel assemblies (Item 2).

4. Install the two rear locking swivel caster wheels (Item 1) and secure with the supplied flange bolts (Item 2) and nuts
(Item 3). Torque the nuts to twenty-three (23) foot-pounds.

5. Install the push handle (Item 1) and secure with the two supplied wire lock pins (Item 2).

OPERATION
(Optional) 6. For added convenience, an optional toolbox storage tube is included. This toolbox is molded from high-
density polypropylene, is corrosion and heat-resistant, with a screw-cap and latch. Select a mounting location that is
easily accessible and secure using the four included zip ties. The toolbox is designed to accommodate the floor-anchor
mounting bolt kit, operator's manual, and other tools as needed.
NOTE: The toolbox storage tube is an optional accessory and can be omitted if desired.

Crane Pre-Installation
Check for damage during shipment. Do not install or use a damaged product. Be sure to maintain records of product
information and contact your OZ Lifting Products, LLC®dealer with any problems that arise. Refer to applicable codes
and regulations before installing equipment. Contact a qualified professional to obtain structure and foundation
specifications for product mounting.
Before installing, select a location where the crane is:
• Visible throughout its entire operation.
• Free of traffic and any possible operational interference.
• Positioned so the operator is clear of both the load and the path of the wire cable.
• Accessible for maintenance.
• On a strong, level foundation, that can properly support it under all conditions.
• Removed from any corrosive, flammable, explosive, or potentially damaging materials.
Inspect the crane to assure there are no missing or damaged parts. Do not discard the crane’s shipping containers as
they can be reused if the crane needs to be repackaged. Contact your OZ Lifting Products, LLC®dealer if any problems
arise.
Assure that all components, including the pin that the load sheave rides on, are properly lubricated before assembling.
Refer to Cleaning & Lubricating the Crane Instructions on page 31.
During assembly, perform an inspection of all components and resolve any issues. This will provide a benchmark
comparison for later inspections.

NOTE: The accompanying bases for the OZ Lifting Products, LLC® davit cranes are sold separately
through OZ Lifting Products, LLC®dealers. They are necessary for proper operation of this product.
1. Install the pedestal base (Item 1) to the Wheel Base (Item 5) using 1/2-13 grade 5 coarse thread bolts (Item 2),
lock washers (Item 3), and flat washers (Item 4). A torque of 80 ft/lb should be used for grade 5 fasteners without
lubrication.
Non-standard products that have been changed from the original design may have other fastening requirements.
Contact your OZ Lifting Products, LLC®dealer for more information.
Installing The Cable
Please refer to your crane Operator's Manual for assembly of the crane.

Installing The Crane Onto The Wheel Base
NOTE: Installing the tab into the slot on the pedestal base bracket secures the mast to the base to prevent the
crane from rotating and possibly tipping under load.
1. Assemble the crane with the instructions in the crane operator’s manual.
2. Once the crane assembly is complete, install the crane into the pedestal base on the Wheel Base. The crane can also
be assembled as individual parts onto the Wheel Base if it has not been previously assembled.
3. Make sure the crane boom and the Wheel Base legs are parallel to each other.
4. Install the locking collar system by inserting the U-bolts provided around the tubes of the mast and pedestal base.
5. Place the locking collar with the movable tab onto the mast of the crane and torque to twenty (20) foot-pounds.
6. Place the other locking collar onto the pedestal base tube and torque to twenty (20) foot-pounds.
7. Make sure both locking collars align and tab can lock into the mating slot when the crane is facing forward with the lifting
hook between the Wheel Base legs.
8. Center the load low between the two front wheels of the Wheel Base.
WARNING Failure to install the tab into the slot on the pedestal base bracket may result in the
crane tipping under load.

OPERATION
Adjusting the Leg Extensions
NOTE: It is highly recommended that BOTH leg extensions are
extended the same amount.
1. Lift outer leg slightly to relieve the ball detent pin.
2. Pull the ball detent pin out of the wheel base leg.
3. Slide leg extension out to desired position.
NOTE: If NOT using the anchor system, the front wheels MUST be
past the load.
4. Push the ball detent pin through the entire outer leg.
WARNING Failure to install the tab into the slot on the pedestal base bracket may result in the
crane tipping under load.
Factory supplied wheel base mounting bolts to be used for floor-mounting with
anchors only.

Never lift a load with the boom arm extended past the front wheels.
Always vertically align the front leg wheels to the boom wheel.

OPERATION
Installing The Wheel Base To The Ground
NOTE: Installing the tab into the slot on the pedestal base bracket secures the mast to the base to prevent the
crane from rotating and possibly tipping under load.
1. Ensure there is a level foundation that can properly support Wheel Base under all conditions.
2. Assemble the Wheel Base according to instructions previously stated in this manual.
3. Install anchors to the surface that Wheel Base will mount to, at the location desired. Use Figure 10.1 for measurements.
NOTE: 1/2"-13 Grade 5 is the recommended bolt size to mount the Wheel Base.
4. Move Wheel Base into position where it is to be anchored.
5. Install four (4) supplied bolts and four (4) washers through the anchor point tubes and torque to twenty (20) foot-
pounds. See Figure 10.2.
