INSTRUCTION MANUAL
*The Operation Manual, PA28981A01, is located in the “Documentation“ folder on the
USB drive provided in the accessory bag. Page and figure numbers below reference
the Operation Manual.
*Easy-Mark Plus™ version 1.2 or higher, also located on the provided USB Drive, is
required to operate the PES400 Embossing System.
Quick Start Guide Checklist for Changing Plate Sizes and Embossing
□Unlock cover with cover key and open machine cover.
□Remove the top clamp by loosening both thumbscrews. see [Figure 1] on [Page 18].
□Remove the top weight(s) [Figure 1]. (For 1.72 wide plates, complete Step 4.2.4 on [Page
18] first.)
□Remove any remaining plates. (For 1.72 wide plates, complete Step 4.2.4 on [Page 18]
first.)
□Loosen the right-hand side knob and slide the right-hand side wall to open the loader.
[Figure 1and Figure 5]
□Change the Plate Support Block if needed, Step 4.2.5 on [Page 19] to determine correct
plate support block.
□Put correct top clamp on and tighten.
□Adjust the Gate Height [Page 23].
□Remove top clamp.
□Position Guide Rails [Page 26].
□Load the plates [Page 28] with Easy Feed Humps up.
□Put the top weight on [Figure 20].
□Put the top clamp back on and tighten.
□Align the back edge of Side Eject Guide Plate [Page 28].
□Close machine cover.
□Adjust the insert of the external hopper to corresponding slot or use corresponding insert
[Figure 24] on [Page 30].
□Turn on PES400 [Page 31].
□Run Easy-Mark Plus [Page 31]. ***Version 1.2 or higher required***
□Emboss one plate [Page 34] to review if embossing force adjustment [Page 34] is needed.
□If any error happens, check the Error Codes on [Page 38] to debug the issue.
