TTS-160 Panther Wi-Fi solution
With the new internal Wi-Fi solution, it is easy to connect your Phone or Tablet to the mount. Using the app
SkySafari it is possible to search an object in the catalogs or point to an object on the maps and have the
mount slew to the object. The system works seamlessly with the mount handpad so both interfaces can be
used together. Using the map on the app makes observing great fun and leads the way to many new
objects.
No extra cables –the Wi-Fi system is powered though the normal power connection to the mount, so no
extra cables are needed.
Availability of the Wi-Fi solution
From January 2021 Wi-Fi will be standard on all Panther Mounts.
The solution can be installed as an upgrade to earlier versions of the Mount. The user can perform the
installation. Contact us for details.
How to switch the Wi-Fi on/off
The Wi-Fi can be switched on and off with a small slide switch placed next to the Power connector.
In upper position the Wi-Fi is Off
In lower position the Wi-Fi is On
NOTE: To use the PC connection the Wi-Fi must be turned off
How to startup using Sky Safari
1. Ensure the Wi-Fi is switched on
2. Power up the mounting
3. Align the mount as normal (1 or 2 stars as wished) using the handpad. Leave the mount in the
operation screen (not in the menu system)

4. On your mobile device connect to the Wi-Fi network called “TTS160”.
5. Start the SkySafari app
6. Open the settings tab and find Telescope Setup.
Set the following settings (only need to be done at first run):
a. Scope type: Meade LX-200 Classic
b. Mount type: Alt-Az goto
c. IP Address: 192.168.2.1
d. Port Number: 1234
7. Press Done to leave settings window
8. Select Scope in the bottom menu and press connect.

Note: Sometimes it can be necessary to restart the SkySafari App to get connected.
