5-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY:
This Patriot Lighting fixture carries a limited warranty against defects in material
or workmanship. If the Patriot Lighting product fails at any time within five (5)
years after the original date of sale due to defects in material or workmanship,
return the product to Menards with the original sales receipt. At its discretion,
Patriot Lighting will replace the defective fixture with the same or similar fixture or
issue a refund. This warranty and any implied warranty (including but not limited
to any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) does
not cover glass globes, light bulbs and other expendable items. This warranty
excludes coverage of finish or color against tarnishing, flaking, and discoloration.
If the original purchaser ceases to own the Patriot Lighting product this warranty
and any implied warranty will be void. This warranty does not cover damage
caused by misuse or abuse, including but not limited to improper installation,
improper usage, accident, negligence, unauthorized repair, unauthorized
modifications, or unauthorized maintenance of the fixture. This warranty does not
include reimbursement for inconvenience, installation, setup time, returned
shipping charges or defects, losses, labor, injuries to personal property.
This warranty gives the consumer specific legal rights, and the consumer may
have other rights which vary from state to state. The seller’s employees are not
qualified to advise on the use of the fixture. Any oral representations made will
not be binding on seller or its employees.

WARNING
:
Read these instrucons. Consult a qualified electrician if you are not
certain about the installaon process. Always install wiring connecons
in accordance with local code, ordinances and the Naonal Electrical
Code.
Before beginning to assemble or install lighng fixture, make sure all
parts are present. Compare parts with package contents listed and
shown on page 1 and 2. If any part is missing or damaged, do not
aempt to assemble, install or operate the fixture. Contact customer
service for replacement parts at 1 [phone] between the hours
of 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday CST.
This light fixture is designed to fit standard juncon boxes as defined by
the Naonal Electrical Code. Please contact a qualified electrician if you
have any quesons regarding the installaon.
Esmated Installaon Time: 30 minutes. Installaon me will vary
depending on skill level and exisng wiring condions. Esmated
installaon me assumes that standard wall juncon box and supply
wiring are already installed.
Items Required for Assembly: Phillips screwdriver, sloed screwdriver,
wrench or pliers, silicone caulking adhesive (not included)
Suggested Items to have on-hand: Wire cuers and/or wire strippers,
step ladder (not included)

TURN OFF POWER. Turn OFF power to
circuit at main circuit breaker or fuse box.
CAUTION
Do not rely on wall switch alone to turn off
power. See Fig.
1
2 .
ATTACH CROSSBAR. Remove the crossbar
from behind
the lamp fixture. You will need to
loosen the two decorave nuts on
the front of the fixture to remover
the crossbar. Store the two decor-
ave cap nuts(D) in a safe place as
they will be needed later to mount
the light fixture aer the crossbar is
installed. Aach the crossbar (C) to
the juncon box with the screws (E)
provided. Adjust the length of the
studs if necessary. and secure them
with two lock nuts

(C) (ground screw maybe painted
green). Connect the white wire from
the juncon box to the white wire from
the fixture by twisng a wire nut (F) onto
the ends of the wires. Connect the
black wire from the juncon box to the
black wire on the fixture by twisng a
wire nut(F) onto the bare ends of the wires.

CAUTION : The lamp fixture is designed to be mounted so that the
moon detector controls face towards the ground. If the lamp fixture
is mounted in any other posion, it may be possible for water to enter
the unit and cause damage to the unit and cause possible electric shock.
Make sure the controls are facing towards the ground!
IMPORTANT :
Aer mounng the fixture, it will be necessary to apply silicone sealant
caulking compound completely around the perimeter of the fixture
where the back of the cover plate meets the mounng surface. Silicone
caulking prevents water from entering the juncon box.
Your installaon is now complete. Turn on power at the circuit breaker
and flip the wall switch to the ON posion. The wall switch must
remain in the ON posion for the moon detector to operate properly.
MANUAL OVERRIDE
:
You can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch by flipping
the wall switch offfor 1 to 3 seconds and then back on. The light will
stay on unl you flip the switch offand on again. If you leave the light
on all night, the light will automacally turn offat dawn and return to
SECURITY mode. Flip the light switch offand on to toggle twice in 3
seconds, it will change between AUTO and MANUAL MODE with the
light staying on for 5 hours. The MANUAL OVERRIDE feature only works
at night or when in TEST mode.
Make sure power is turned on at circuit breaker and wall
switch is in the ON posion. Wall switch must remain in
the ON posion for the moon detector to work properly.
There are three control

1.
MODE SELECT
:
SECURITY/DUSK to DAWN
SECURITY: Your lighng fixture is energy-saving when
used in SECURITY mode. In this mode the light will come on
at night only when moon is detected. The light will stay on
as long as moon connues and stay on for a brief ON me
aer all moon has stopped. The ON me is set with the
TIME/TEST knob discussed below. To put the fixture into the
SECURITY mode, turn the MODE SELECT knob fully
counterclockwise so that the small pointer is aimed toward
the SECURITY seng
.
DUSK to DAWN: To put the lamp fixture into the DUSK to
DAWN mode, turn the MODE SELECT knob fully clockwise
so that the small pointer is aimed towards the DUSK to
DAWN seng. In this mode the lights automacally come
on at dusk and turn offat dawn. Moon has no effect.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Juncon box wire may be red and/or have a copper conductor. The
White juncon box wire may be square and/or have a silver conductor.

. MOUNT FIXTURE. Make sure wire connecons
are secure. Carefully posion wires and wire nuts
into the juncon box. Posion the crossbar (C)
so that the fixture mounng studs are level.
Carefully posion the light fixture (A) over the
juncon box so that the mounng studs protrude
through the front cover on the fixture. Thread
the decorave nuts back onto the studs to secure
the light fixture to the juncon box. Tighten the
decorave nuts so that the light fixture is secure
and flush with the mounng surface. DO NOT
overghten.

2.TIME/TEST
The TIME/TEST knob is used to switch into the TEST mode and to
set the ON me that the lamp will stay on aer moon is detected
while in the SECURITY mode. Switching to TEST Mode. A photocell
is built into the TIME/TEST knob to automacally shut off the light
during daylight hours. In TEST mode the photocell is turned off so
the light can come on during daylight hours for tesng the coverage
area. To enter TEST mode, turn the knob fully counterclockwise so
that the pointer is aimed at the word "TEST". To leave test mode,
turn the knob clockwise away from the TEST posion. Note: When
the TIME/TEST knob is set to TEST and the MODE SELECT knob is
set to SECURITY, the light will come on aer moon is detected and
will then shut off aer 5~10 seconds of ON me. When the TIME/
TEST knob is set to TEST and the MODE SELECT knob is set to DUSK
to DAWN, the light will remain on all the me and the coverage
area cannot be tested. Seng the ON me: To set the amount of
ON me, simply turn the knob clockwise away from the TEST seng.
The maximum ON me aer moon stops is 10 minutes with the
knob turned fully clockwise.
3.SENSITIVITY
The SENSITIVITYknob adjusts the fixture`s sensivityto moon.
Turn the knob clockwise to increase sensivityand counterclockwise
to reduce the sensivity. The most common sengis fully clockwise
formaximum sensivity. MANUAL OVERRIDE while in SECURITY
mode,you can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch
byflippingthe wall switch off1to 3 seconds and then back on.The
light willstayon unl you flipthe switch offand on again.Ifyou
leave the light on all night,the light will automacallyturn offat
dawn and return to
SECURITY mode the next night.The MANUAL OVERRIDE
feature only works at night in SECURITYmode orwhen in
TEST mode.COVERAGE AREAThe moon detectorhas
two coverage dials,located on eitherside ofthe moon
detectorlens.These dials are used to adjust the coverage
area on the leorright side ofthe fixture without affecng
the detector’s sensivityto moon.The ledialadjusts
the coverage to the leofthe detectorand the right dial
adjusts the coverage to the right.There are three sengs
foreach dial. Formaximum coverage,turn the coverage dial
up.Down formore coverage; Up forless coverage.
WALK-TESTING THE COVERAGE AREATO test the area
covered by the moon detector, first switch to TEST mode
by turning the TIME knob to the TEST posion. Make sure
the Mode Select knob is poinng to SECURITY. Walk in the
area to be tested. When your moon is detected, the light
will come on. Move to a different spot in the area to be
tested and stop all moon unl the light turns off(about 5
~10 seconds). Start walking again to see if your moon will
acvate the light.

MANUAL OVERRIDE
You can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch by flipping

TROUBLESHOOTING NOTES
If the lights stay on all the me, the sensivity might be too great. Try
turning the sensivity down by turning the SENSITIVITY.
Note: A dimmer switch can interfere with the sensor and cause the lights
to stay on. Do not use a dimmer switch to interfere with the light.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Your decorave outdoor moon detector lighting fixture requires very lile
care and maintenance. Simply clean the glass and coated metal surfaces
with a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use any cleaners with chemicals,
solvents or harsh abrasives. The moon detecng lens is coated with a
specially painted finish and requires special care when cleaning. Use only a
sodry cloth to dust or wipe the lens area.
Another area that will needspecial aenon is the photocell window
located right next to the TIME/TEST knob. The photocell detects light
through this small window. Keep this area clean to prevent dirt from
collecng. Excessive accumulaon of dirt or dust on the photocell window
may cause the lights to come on during the day.
BULB INSTALLATION
The light fixture is designed to safely operate with a single medium 100 wa
type A-19 incandescent lamp or 23W CFL lamp. Do not overlamp this fixture.
Some models require the removal of a cover to access the bulb. To remove
the cover, remove the decorave nuts that secure the cover in place.
Replace the decorave nuts aer installing the bulb.

standard 120VAC/60Hz power.
Have power supply checked by
qualified electrician
If the light
stays on:
The SENSITIVITY may be set too high.
Try reducing the SENSITIVITY in
small steps
If the light
stays on:
Moon detector lens may be installed
upside down.
Gently pull lens out. The three
drain holes should be on the
boom. Re-install in proper

stays on:
The coverage area may be too large
and the moon detector is sensing
unwanted moon.
