1 Introduction

Please read this manual carefully and completely before you use the device for the first time. The device
may only be used by qualified personnel and repaired by PCE Instruments personnel. There is no
warranty of damages or injuries caused by non-observance of the manual.
- The device may only be used in the approved temperature range.
- The case should only be opened by qualified personnel of PCE Instruments.
- The instrument should never be placed with the user interface facing an object (e. g. keyboard side on a
table).
- You must not make any technical changes to the device.
- The appliance should only be cleaned with a damp cloth / use only pH-neutral cleaner.
- Maintenance should be solely carried out by the manufacturer. In case of trouble, please contact PCE
Instruments.
- After testing and whenever you want to store the device, release the spring mechanism by turning the
knob until the swivel moves freely in the device body.
- Store the device in a place free of dust, fumes, acids, alkalis and corrosive gases.
- As long as the device is in its case, it can be transported by any means of transport. Please make sure
to adhere to the relevant rules and requirements.
- During transportation, operation and storage, make sure that the device is not subject to impacts,
shocks or moisture.

4 Instructions
4.1 Preparation for use
- Clean the surface of the measuring probe and the surface where you want to place the probe,
for example by using fine sand paper.
- Prepare the epoxy adhesive as instructed on the packaging and mix it thoroughly.
- If you use single-component super glue, open the tube.
- Apply the glue to the surface and place the measuring probe on the surface covered with glue, as
described in more detail on the packaging.
- Use the cutter to slightly scratch the area around the measuring probe.
4.2 Operation
- Turn the top knob of the adhesion tester counter-clockwise to release the gripping mechanism and the
spring.
- Now screw the adhesion tester (thread at the bottom) onto the measuring probe until the device reaches
the surface to be tested.
- Turn the top knob clockwise until the measuring head is released from the test surface. You can read
the tearing force from scale 1 or 2, depending on the measuring probe used.
- If the measuring probe has not been separated from the surface, turn the knob counter-clockwise to
release the spring mechanism and remove the device from the measuring probe.
- Separate the measuring head from the surface, using a chisel and hammer.´
- If the measuring probe has been separated from the surface, unscrew it from the device, using the
wrench.
- Clean the surface of the measuring probe from glue and paint residues and splinters.

5 Disposal
For the disposal of batteries, the 2006/66/EC directive of the European Parliament applies. Due to the
contained pollutants, batteries must not be disposed of as household waste. They must be given to
collection points designed for that purpose.
In order to comply with the EU directive 2012/19/EU we take our devices back. We either re-use them or
give them to a recycling company which disposes of the devices in line with law.
