The Peavey DJS™Sub is a newly
designed folded bass-horn s eaker
system com rising the Peavey 1808-8cu
Black Widow®driver.
The DJS Sub is constructed of
medium density fibreboard (MDF), which
is a void-free, war -free, and highly
durable material. The DJS Sub cabinet is
finished with Peavey’s durable black
car et. Metal corners are also added to
rovide further rotection to the cabinet.

Low frequency energy is
omnidirectional which means it travels
out in all directions from its source.
Because of this you can greatly affect
the erceived volume of your low
frequency drivers by lacing them
correctly within the room.
When we ut a sub on the floor it is
said we have cou led with a boundary
(Fig. 1); if we lace it against the wall
and the floor, it is said that we have
cou led with two boundaries (Fig. 2).
By lacing the sub in the corner and
cou ling with three boundaries (see
figure 3), the bass can be greatly
augmented.
Since the length of the low frequency
sound waves can be as long or longer
than the room, ro er sub lacement
maximizes bass res onse, and can also
eliminate certain frequencies that stand
out due to the room’s natural
resonances. These are commonly called
“standing waves.” To “tune” the sub to
the room, sim ly lay music through
your sub and try different lacements
within the corner, until no frequency
“jum s out” at you, and the bass sounds
full through the sub’s frequency range
and throughout the room.
