Detta nivåberoende hörselskydd från Peltor är speciellt anpassat för att be-
kvämt kunna bäras under hjälm samt användas med olika vapen och samtidigt
ge ett effektivt skydd mot skadligt buller. Som standard är skyddet utrustat med
audioingång för anslutning av extern radio och en nivåberoende funktion som
förstärker svaga ljud och dämpar höga. Systemen för extern kommunikation
och den nivåberoende funktionen fungerar oberoende av varandra vilket ger
extra hög pålitlighet och ökad säkerhet. Hörselskyddet har testats och god-
känts i enlighet med PPE-direktivet 89/686/EEC och EMC-direktivet 89/336/
EEC, vilket innebär att kraven för CE-märkning är uppfyllda.
Läs noga igenom denna bruksanvisning för att dra största möjliga nytta av din
nya Peltor produkt.
FUNKTIONER (A)
• Sista inställning sparas vid avstängning.
• Automatisk avstängning efter två timmar om ingen funktion påverkats. Två
signaler hörs som indikerar att avstängning sker efter en minut om ingen
funktion påverkas.
• Batterilivslängden är ca. 250 timmar. Tre varningssignaler var 30:e sekund
i fem minuter hörs vid låg spänning. Därefter sker avstängning. VARNING:
Ljudåtergivningen kan sjunka med batteritiden
• Polaritetsskydd skyddar kretsen vid felvändning av batterier.
• Utrustad med audioingång via chassicjack för att kunna anslutas till extern
radio. Extern signal kan avlyssnas utan batterispänning och även när pro-
dukten är avstängd.
• När den nivåberoende funktionen är påslagen dämpas förstärkningen ner
då en extern hörtelefonsignal inkommer via audioingången.

Observera att audioingången då används till mikrofonaslutning.
För att uppnå maximal bullerkompensation ska talmikrofonen på headsetet
användas på ett minimalt avstånd av ca 3 mm från läpparna.
VIKTIG ANVÄNDARINFORMATION
Hörselskyddet måste sättas på, justeras, rengöras och underhållas i enlighet
med den här bruksanvisningens instruktioner.
• Detta skydd är försett med en nivåberoende funktion. Användaren bör kon-
trollera att funktionen är påslagen före användning. Om missljud eller fel
upptäcks, bör användaren vända sig till tillverkaren för råd om skötsel och
byte av batterier.
• Bär skyddet 100% av tiden du vistas i bullriga miljöer, för att få full skydds-
effekt.
• Denna produkt kan påverkas negativt av vissa kemiska ämnen. Ytterligare
information kan inhämtas från tillverkaren.
• Det är dags att byta batterier vid ljudindikation enligt ovan eller när stör-
ningar ökar eller när ljudet blir för svagt. Byt (installera) aldrig batterier med

elektroniken påslagen. Försäkra er före användning att batteriet är rätt
monterat. Se bild avsnitt VÅRD.
• Får ej lagras med batterier monterade.
• Vid extrem kyla bör skyddet värmas före användning, för att undvika
köldskador.
OBS! Om dessa rekommendationer inte följs, kan dämpning och funktion
påverkas negativt.
VARNING!
Utsignalen från den nivåberoende kretsen i detta hörselskydd kan överstiga
extern ljudsignalsnivå.
VIKTIGT! För bästa skyddseffekt för undan håret kring
öronen så att tätningsringarna sluter tätt mot huvudet.
Glasögonskalmar skall vara så tunna som möjligt och sitta
tätt mot huvudet.

HANDHAVANDE (C)
(C:1) Fäll ut bygeln.
(C:2) Dra ut kåporna. Vik ut överdelen på kåpan för att ledningen skall pla-
ceras på utsidan av bygeln.
(C:3) Justera höjden på kåporna. Gör detta genom att dra kåpan upp eller ned,
samtidigt som du håller ned hjässbygeln.
(C:4) Bygeln ska sitta rakt upp på huvudet.
(C:5) Innan ihopfällning tryck in kåporna nästan helt. Lämna ca 4 mm av by-
geltråd synlig.
(C:6) Fäll ihop bygeln. Kontrollera att inga veck nns på tätningsringarna och
att de ligger slätt mot varandra. OBSERVERA! Innan bygeln ska fällas
ihop måste mikrofonpluggen för audioingången (A:9) kopplas ur!
(C:7) På och av Tryck på höger eller vänster knapp i minst 3 sekunder.
(C:8) Öka volym Tryck på den vänstra (främre) knappen.
(C:9) Minska volym Tryck på den högra (bakre) knappen.
FÖRVARING (D)
OBSERVERA! Innan bygeln ska fällas ihop måste mikrofonpluggen för audioin-
gången kopplas ur!
(D:1) FEL Alla gejdrar måste vara korrekt intryckta innan bygeln fälls ihop.
(D:2) RÄTT Tätningsringarna ska ligga slätt mot varandra.
(D:3) VID FUKT Vik ut kåporna. Ta bort tätningsringarna så dämpkuddar och
elektronik tillåts torka. Montera tillbaka. Se avsnitt VÅRD.
VÅRD (E)
RENGÖRING
Rengör kåpor, bygel och tätningsringar med en trasa och ljummet vatten.
OBS! Kåporna får inte doppas ner i vatten!
BYTE AV BATTERIER (E:1), (E:2)
Vid byte av batterier, stoppa i ngrarna under kanten på batterilocket. Lossa lite
på respektive sida först för att sedan lyfta bort hela locket. Ta ur batterierna när
skyddet skall förvaras en längre tid. Testa av funktionen efter batteribyte.
DEMONTERING/BYTE AV NYA TÄTNINGSRINGAR
(E:3) Stoppa i ngrarna under kanten på tätningsringen och dra rakt ut.
(E:4) Montera den nya tätningsringen genom att trycka ihop.
RESERVDELAR/TILLBEHÖR (F)
HY68 Hygiensats
Lätt utbytbar hygiensats som består av två dämpkuddar samt tätningsringar
med snäppfunktion. Byt minst två gånger om året för att säkerställa en konstant
dämpnings- hygien-, och komfortnivå eller om någon av delarna i hydensatsen
är defekta. Skyddet och i synnerhet tätningsringarna kan försämras med tiden
och bör undersökas med täta mellanrum, så att inga sprickor och ljudläckage
nns.Om tätningsringen är skadad skall den bytas ut, se avsnitt VÅRD.
HY100A Clean engångsskydd
Ett engångsskydd som enkelt anbringas på tätningsringarna. Förpackning om
100 par engångsskydd. Montering av engångsskydd kan påverka de ackus-
tiska egenskaperna i hörselkåpan.
M60/2 Vindskydd för nivåberoende funktions mikrofoner
Effektivt mot vindbrus. Levereras med ett par skydd per paket.

Produktmodeller utan mikrofon kan byggas om till headset genom att antingen
montera en bom-mikrofon på en av gejdrarna eller använda strupmikrofon
(MT9). Mikrofonen ansluts via grensladd till audioingången och sedan vidare

Storleken är anpassad till handens storlek, men den är även lätt att bära, fäst

This level dependent hearing protector from Peltor is specially designed to be
worn comfortably under a helmet and while using various guns, and still give
effective protection against harmful noise. The standard model has an audio input
for connecting an external radio, and an level dependent function that amplies
weak sounds and attenuates loud ones. The external communication and level
dependent functions are independent of each other, which ensures extra good
reliability and better safety. The hearing protector has been tested and approved
according to PPE directive 89/686/EEC and EMC directive 89/336/EEC, which
means that it meets the demands for CE labelling.
Read these instructions carefully to ensure the best possible benet from your
new Peltor product.
FUNCTIONS (A)
• The latest settings are stored at shut-off.
• Automatic shut-off after two hours of no active functions. Two warning signals
are emitted to indicate that the unit will switch off in one minute if no function
is activated.
• When battery power is low, three warning signals are emitted every 30 sec-
onds for ve minutes, then the unit switches off. WARNING! performance
may deteriorate with battery usage. The typical period of continuous use
that can be expected from the ear-muff battery is 250 hours.
• Polarity protection prevents damage to circuits if the batteries are inserted
incorrectly.
• Equipped with an audio input via a chassis jack for connecting an external
radio. You can listen to an external signal without battery power and even
when the product is switched off.
• When the level dependent function is on, the amplication is toned down
when an external signal comes in through the audio input.

For maximum ambient-noise compensation, position the speech microphone
on the headset 3 mm from the lips.
IMPORTANT USER INFORMATION
The hearing protector must be put on, adjusted, cleaned and maintained in
accordance with the instructions in this manual.
• This ear-muff is provided with level-dependent attenuation. The wearer
should check correct operation before use. If distortion or failure is detected,
the wearer should refer to the manufacturers advice for maintenance and
replacement of the battery
• Wear the headset 100% of the time you spend in noisy environments for full
protection.
• Certain chemical substances may be harmful to this product. Contact the
manufacturer for more information.
• This ear-muff is provided with electrical audio input. The wearer should check

correct operation before use. If distortion or failure is detected, the wearer
should refer to the manufacturers advice.
• When interference increases or the volume becomes too weak, it is time to
replace the batteries. Never replace or install batteries with the unit switched
on. Ensure that the battery is positioned correctly before using. See the gure
in the CARE section.
• Do not store with the batteries installed.
• In extremely cold conditions, warm up the hearing protector before use.
Note: If these recommendations are not followed, attenuation and other func-
tions can be impaired.
WARNING!
The output of the level-dependent circuit of this hearing protection may exceed
the external sound level.
IMPORTANT! For the best protection, brush aside hair around the
ears so the ear cushions t snugly against the head. Spectacle
frames should be as thin as possible and t close to the head.

To prevent harmful levels, the input signal must not exceed the stated values

WARNING!
The output of the electrical audio circuit of this hearing protector may exceed
the daily limit sound level.
USE (C)
(C:1) Open the headband.
(C:2) Slide out the cups. Tilt the top of the cup out, as the wire must be placed on
the outside of the headband.
(C:3) Adjust the height of the cups by pulling the cup up or down while pressing
the headband down.
(C:4) The headband should lie across the top of the head.
(C:5) Press the cups in before collapsing. Leave about 4 mm (1/8”) of the headband
wire visible.
(C:6) Collapse the headband. Check that the ear cushions are not creased and
that they lie at against one another. NOTE! When the headband is to be
collapsed, make sure to unplug the audio input jack (A:9)
(C:7) On and off Press the right or left button and hold for at least 3 seconds.
(C:8) Increase volume Press the left (forward) button.
(C:9) Decrease volume Press the right (rear) button.
STORAGE (D)
Do not store this hearing protection in temperatures exceeding +55°C, for
example inside a windscreen or a window.
ATTENTION: When the headband is to be collapsed, make sure to unplug the
audio input jack (A:9)
(D:1) WRONG All guide wires must be pushed in correctly before the headband
is collapsed.
(D:2) RIGHT The ear cushions should lie at against each other.
(D:3) WHEN DAMP Turn the cups outwards. Remove the ear cushions to allow
the attenuation cushions and electronics to dry. Reassemble. See the
CARE section.
CARE (E)
CLEANING
Clean/disinfect the cups, headband and ear cushions regularly with soap and
warm water.
Note: Do not immerse the cups in water!
REPLACING THE BATTERIES (E:1), (E:2)
To replace the batteries, insert a tool under the edge of the battery cover. Loosen
each side a bit, then lift off the entire cover. Remove the batteries when stor-
ing the hearing protector for a long time. Check the function of the unit after
replacing the batteries.
REMOVING/REPLACING THE EAR CUSHIONS
(E:3) Insert your ngers under the edge of the ear cushion and pull straight out.
(E:4) Insert the new ear cushion by pressing it in until it snaps in place.
SPARE PARTS/ACCESSORIES (F)
HY400 Head pad
For optimal tting on smaller head sizes, use head pad HY400. The head pad is
easily attached to the standard head pad, please see tting instruction (I)
HY68 Hygiene kit
Easy to replace hygiene kit consisting of two attenuation cushions and snap-in ear
cushions. Replace at least twice a year to ensure constant attenuation, hygiene
and comfort, or if any of the parts of the hygiene kit are defective.
The headset and particularly the ear cushions can degenerate over time and should
be inspected regularly to ensure that there are no cracks and sound leakage. If an
