New Petzl standard for lighting performance.
Petzl hasdeveloped a new method fordetermining lighting distance
and duration.
Our study found that the minimum amount of light required
forsatisfactory visionis0.25 lux. We have thus based all our
measurementsaround thisvalue, which iscomparable to the light of
a full moonona clearnight.
To help youknow your lamp betterwe measured the lighting distance
at:
Time = 0 (lamp at maximum capacity)
Time = 0h30 (commoninterval of use).
Time = 10 h (all-night use)
Petzl definesa usable light source asone that providesat least 0.25
lux at a distance of 2 m; thisisthe minimum amount of light required
forefficient movement inthe dark. We stop measuring a lamp’sburn
time (light duration) whenitslight output fallsbelow thisminimum
level.

All of the lampsinthe MYOLITE range conform to the requirements
of the 89/336/CEE directive onelectromagnetic compatibility.
MYOLITE
Single light source: xenonhalogen.
To increase the burn time of thissingle light source lamp, youcan
replace the Xenonhalogenbulb with the standard bulb, which isless
powerful but more energy-efficient (see table).
MYOLITE 3
Two light sources: xenonhalogen+ 3 LED, non-regulated.
The 3 LEDsare « non-regulated » for1 level of energy-efficient
lighting.
Switching on & off, brightness selection, zooming
A twist of the bezel onyour MYOLITE turns it on/off and adjusts
the focus of the beam from spot to flood (zooming). ForMYOLITE
lightswith LEDs, the bezel isalso used to select eitherthe LEDsor
the Xenonhalogenbeam. From the « off » position, turning the bezel
lightsthe LEDsfi rst forenergy-efficient proximity lighting, thenthe
Xenonhalogenbulb forpowerful long-range lighting.
Unlocking/locking the bezel
Your MYOLITE will not work whenthe bezel islocked. To unlock it, tilt
the headpiece forward until the pincomesout of the notch. Take care
to lock the bezel whenthe MYOLITE isnot inuse (see diagram). If
the light accidentally turns oninyour pack, the heat produced by the
Xenonhalogenbulb candamage the lamp.
Batteries
Install AA/LR6 alkaline batteriesasshowninthe diagram. Do not mix
brandsof batteries, ornew batterieswith used.
Warning: defective orfully discharged batteries, orwaterinthe
battery case candamage the lamp (oxidationof the contacts).
The burn time of your lamp will be considerably reduced whenthe
(alkaline) batteriesare cold. The LEDsoftengive betterlight thanthe
Xenonhalogenbulb whenthe batteriesare cold orlow.
Replacing a bulb
To reomve the bezel, unscrew to the rim, being careful not to force
the unit.
Beware of burning your fi ngers onthe Xenonbulb.
In case of malfunction
Make sure the batteriesare good, and that they are properly installed
with respect to theirpolarity. If the polarity issimply reversed inthe
battery case, the Xenonbulb will work but the LED’swill not. Follow
the orderand positionasindicated onthe battery case. Remove
and re-install the bulb. Try the spare bulb. Check the contactsfor
corrosion. If corroded, gently scrape the contactscleanwithout
bending them.
If your lamp still doesn’t work, contact PETZL After-SalesService.
Maintenance
Afteruse ina humid environment, remove the batteries, the bezel, and
the bulb. Allow the lamp to dry thoroughly, keeping the battery case,
bezel, and headpiece open. Waterinthe headpiece orbattery case can
cause the lamp to malfunction. The LEDscannot be dismantled. LEDs
have a very long life and do not require service.

Thisproduct isguaranteed for3 years against all faultsinmaterialsor
manufacture. Exclusions from the guarantee: normal wearand tear,
modifications oralterations, incorrect storage, damage caused by
accidents, by negligence, by leaking batteriesorby use forwhich this

Nouveau référentiel Petzl de mesure des performances
d’éclairage.
Petzl élabore une méthode de mesure pour déterminerlesdistances
d’éclairage et l’autonomie (durée d’éclairage).
Nous considérons que la valeur de lumière minimum à laquelle la
visionest satisfaisante est 0,25 lux. Nous réalisons donc toutesnos
mesuresà 0,25 lux. Cette valeur est comparable à la clarté d’une nuit
de pleine lune.
Pour vous aiderà mieux connaître votre lampe nous mesurons la
distance à:
Temps= 0 (capacité maximum de la lampe).
Temps= 0h30 (usage courant).
Temps= 10 heures(usage continu pendant une nuit).
Petzl considère qu’endessous d’une lumière de 0,25 lux à une
distance de 2 m, une lampe n’est plus utilisable pour se déplacer.
Nous arrêtons la mesure de l’autonomie (durée d’éclairage) à la
distance de 2 m.

MYOLITE
Mono foyerzoom xénonhalogène.
Pour cette lampe mono foyer, vous avez la possibilité d’augmenter
votre autonomie enremplaçant votre ampoule Xénonhalogène par
l’ampoule standard moins puissante maisplus économique (voir
tableau).
MYOLITE 3
Deux foyers : un foyerzoom xénonhalogène et un foyer3 LED non
régulé offrant un seul niveaud’éclairage trèséconomique.
Allumer, éteindre,
sélectionner, zoomer
Une seule commande pour faire fonctionnervotre MYOLITE, la
« bague optique », interrupteur et zoom. Pour lesMYOLITE équipées
de LED, cette bague permet de sélectionnerle foyerLED oule foyer
Xénonhalogène. Le foyerLED est sélectionné enpremierpour un
éclairage de proximité utilisant peud’énergie et ensecond le foyer
Xénonhalogène, éclairage puissant. Le zoom permet de régler
l’éclairage Xénonhalogène, faisceau« spot » éloigné oufaisceau
large.
Verrouillage (Lock)
Prendre soinde verrouillerla bague optique. Si votre lampe reste
accidentellement allumée dans un sac de transport, la chaleur
dégagée parl’ampoule XénonHalogène peut endommagerla lampe.
Piles
Utilisez despilesalcalines. Ne pasmélangerdespilesde marques
différentes, despilesneuvesavec despilesusagées.
Attention, despilesdéfectueuses, fortement déchargéesoude
l’eaudans le boîtierpeuvent endommagerla lampe (oxydationdes
contacts…).
L’autonomie despilesalcalinesbaisse considérablement à basse
température. Aufroid oulorsque lespilessont usées, le foyerLED
peut éclairerplus que le foyerXénonHalogène.
Remplacer une ampoule
Pour enleverla bague optique, dévissez jusqu’aucran, n’hésitez pas
à forcer.
Attentionà ne pasvous brûlerlesdoigtsavec l’ampoule Xénon.
En cas de dysfonctionnement
Vérifiez lespileset le respect de leur polarité. Si la polarité est
simplement inversée dans le boîtierpiles, l’ampoule Xénonfonctionne
maislesLED ne fonctionnent pas. Suivez l’ordre indiqué sur le boîtier.
Retirez et replacez l’ampoule. Testez avec l’ampoule de rechange.
Vérifiez l’absence de corrosionsur lescontacts. Encasde corrosion,
grattez légèrement lescontactssans lesdéformer.
Si votre lampe ne fonctionne toujours pas, contactez le Service Après
Vente PETZL.
Entretien
Le foyerLED n’est pasdémontable LesLED ont une durée de vie très
longue. De l’eaudans la bague optique oule boîtierà pilespeut créer
un dysfonctionnement. Aprèsutilisationenmilieuhumide, retirez les
piles, la bague optique et l’ampoule. Séchez intégralement (bague
optique et boîtierouverts).
Garantie PETZL
Ce produit est garanti pendant 3 ans contre tout défaut de matière
oude fabrication. Limite de la garantie: l’usure normale, les
modifications ouretouches, le mauvaisstockage, lesdommagesdus
aux accidents, aux négligences, aux pilesqui coulent, aux utilisations

Fürdiese Lampe mit einfachem Lichtstrahl ist auch eine
Standardbirne (statt derXenonHalogen) erhältlich, die weniger

MYOLITE 3
Zwei Lichtquellen: Zoom Funktionmit XenonHalogenbirne, sowie
3 LED.
Die 3 LED Lichtquelle ist nicht einstellbar. Sie bietet eine
Helligkeitsstufe, die sehrsparsam im Verbrauch ist.
Ein- und Ausschalten, Auswahl, Zoom
EineinzigerSchaltererfüllt alle Funktionen: der‘optische Ring’Für
diejenigenMYOLITE, die mit LED ausgestattet sind, kann mit diesem
Ring auch zwischenLED und XenonHalogenumgeschaltet werden.
Die LED Lichtquelle dient zum AusleuchtendernäherenUmgebung
bei geringem Energieverbrauch. XenonHalogenhingegenbietet
kräftigesFernlicht, bei höherem Verbrauch. Mit derZoom Funktion
kann derXenonHalogenstrahl gebündelt odererweitert werden.
Verriegelung (Lock)
DenkenSie daran, Ihre MYOLITE zuverriegeln, denn beim
versehentlichenBrennenlassenz.B. im Rucksack könnte sich die von
derXenonHalogenbirne ausgehende Wärme stauenund derReflektor
beschädigt werden.
Batterien
VerwendenSie Alkalibatterien. MischenSie nicht die Batterien
unterschiedlicherHersteller, und auch nicht neue mit altenBatterien.
Achtung, defekte oderkomplett entladene Batterienund Wasser
im Batteriefach könnendie Lampe beschädigen(Oxydationder
Kontakte…).
Die LebensdauervonAlkalizellenreduziert sich erheblich unter
Kälteeinwirkung. InkalterUmgebung, oderwenn die Batterienschon
etwasentladensind, kann die LED Lichtquelle hellerseinalsdie
XenonHalogen.
Auswechseln einer Birne
Um denReflektorabzunehmen, drehenSie diesenentgegendem
Uhrzeigersinn bisüberdenAnschlag heraus. Achtung verbrennenSie
sich nicht die FingeranderXenonBirne.
Bei Fehlfunktion
ÜberprüfenSie die Batterien, und ob nicht Plus und Minus vertauscht
sind. Ist diesderFall, so funktioniert zwardie XenonBeleuchtung,
die LED’sjedoch nicht. LegenSie die Batterienein, wie esauf
dem Batteriekastenaufgezeichnet ist. WechselnSie die Birne
aus (Ersatzbirne im Lieferumfang enthalten). Sind die Kontakte
korrodiert? Wenn ja: kratzenSie vorsichtig, um die Kontakte nicht zu
verbiegen. FallsIhre Lampe immernoch nicht funktioniert, wenden
Sie sich andenKundendienst vonPETZL.
Wartung und Pflege
Die LED Lichtquelle ist fest montiert. Die LED habeneine sehrhohe
Lebensdauer. WasserinderOptik oderIm Batteriefach kann die
Funktionbeeinträchtigen. Nach Gebrauch infeuchterUmgebung
nehmenSie die Batterienheraus, schraubenSie denoptischenRing
ab, und die Birne heraus. LassenSie allesgeöffnet komplett trocknen.
