Saddle
Opening
-Inserttheignitionkeyinthelockatthebackofthe
leftside, rotate it a quarterofa turn towards the
rightand lift thesaddle.
Theseat storagecompartmentgives accessto:
-Petrol tank
-Oil tank
-Helmethousing
Do not store aerosols in the seat storage
compartment.
Toclose
Pressthebackofthesaddle
- Oil level
Checkthe oillevelregularly.
Forproper engine lubrication youmust use:
-Semi-syntheticoil for2-strokeengineswith
separatelubrication
Important
Top up with a recommended oil.
Useof other types ofoil may cause anexces-
sive build up of carbon in the engine and in
theexhaust system,resultingin lossof power
and damage to the engine.
Do not overfill your tank. Oil must not reach
the neck of the filling orifice. Make sure that
thefiller cap is well closedafter filling.
Ifyour oil tank has been completelyemptied,
this may cause damage to the engine when
youstart it; pleasetake yourvehicleto aPEU-
GEOT dealer so that he can carry out the
essentialoperation of purgingthe lubrication
circuit. Transport the vehicle to a PEUGEOT
dealer to carry out the vital restarting of the
lubrication circuit.
- Petrol
For best operation of your engine, use non-
leadedpetrol 98 or 95.
Donot allow waterorany grit orparticlesto enter
thetankwhenfilling.
Do not use an oil and petrol fuel mixture.
Warning
Petrolis anextremely inflammablesubstance
thatcan explode under someconditions. Fill
upwith petrolin awell ventilatedlocationwith
the engine switched off. Do not smoke, do
notallowflames orsparksclose tothescooter
or close to the place in which the petrol is
stored.
Donotoverfillyourtank. Petrol mustnotreach
the neck of the filling orifice. Make sure that
thefiller cap is well closedafter filling.
Petrol is a dangerous substance and can be
fatalif swallowed.
Avoid repeated and prolonged contact with
the skin and do not inhale the vapors. Keep
outofreachofchildren. Donot causevomiting
ifpetrolisswallowed. Calladoctorimmediately.
Checking the coolant

Danger
Never remove the plug from
the expansion vessel when
the engine is hot. The
pressurised coolant might
be projected and could cause
serious burns.
It is essential that the used
coolant be deposited at a
recycling point.
Warning
Do not use the vehicle :
- If the coolant level is lower than the
minimum level
- If there is a leak
- In the event of high consumption of
coolant
Inall cases,youwill causeirreversible
damageto your vehicle.
Contact a Peugeot dealer for maintenance
andrepair.
Checkingthe levelofcoolant iscarriedoutwith
theengine coldandat a standstill.

winterprotection
-Retighten theplugof theexpansion
vessel
-Replace theprotectioncover

Checkandkeepthelevelbetweenthe«upper»(maxi-
mum)and«lower»(minimum)marks.
Usedemineralizedwaterorspecialleadbattery
wateronlyforyourbattery; tapwaterwillreduceits
life.
Whenyoureplacethebattery,makesurethattheair
venthoseisproperlyinplaceandisnotblockedor
pinched.PleasecallaPEUGEOTdealerifyouhave
excessiveelectrolyteloss.
Connectionstobatterywires:
- Connect the red wire to the battery's (+)
terminal,
-Connect the green wiretothebattery's(-)
terminal.
- Charging the battery
The level of battery liquid must always be
checkedbefore charging.
Thechargemustbecarriedoutwithasuitablebattery
chargerwithamaximumoutputof0.4to1ampere
; werecommend that this operationisdonebya
dealer.
Note : you can damage the battery if the
battery charger that you use is too powerful.
Danger
The battery contains sulphuric acid. Avoid
contactwith the skin, the eyes or clothing.
1st reaction:
- External : rinse with water and see a
doctorimmediately.
- Internal : do not drink or induce
vomiting. Call a doctor immediately or the
nearest antipoison centre.
- Eyes : rinse with water and see a
doctorimmediately.
Thebattery releases explosive gases. Donot
bringsparks,flames orcigarettesclose. When
charging or using in a closed location, make
surethat the ventilationis good. Protecteyes
whenworking closeto a battery.
Alwayskeep batteries out of children’s
reach.
A used battery must always be taken to a
certified recycling point.
