Introduction
This new Philips beauty Airstylist has been specially designed to give
beautiful styling results in a quick and easy way.

Important
Read these instructions for use carefully before using the appliance and
save them for future reference.
◗Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to
the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
◗Keep this appliance away from water! Do not use this product
near or over water contained in baths, washbasins, sinks etc.
When used in a bathroom, unplug the appliance after use since
the proximity of water presents a risk, even when the appliance is
switched off.
◗For additional protection, we advise you to install a residual
current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not
exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom.
Ask your installer for advice.
◗If the appliance overheats, it will switch off automatically. Unplug
the appliance and let it cool down for a few minutes. Before you
switch the appliance on again, check the grille to make sure it is
not blocked by fluff, hair, etc.

◗Check the condition of the mains cord regularly.

◗The mains cord of this appliance cannot be replaced. If the mains
cord is damaged, the appliance must be discarded.

the styler.
◗The attachments will become hot during use. Prevent contact
with the skin.
◗Never block the air inlet grille.
◗Keep the appliance away from children.
◗Always unplug the appliance after use.
◗Wait until the appliance has cooled down before storing it.
Preparing for use
Hair
◗Before you start using the Airstylist, comb or brush the hair so
that it is untangled and smooth.
◗The Airstylist is most effective when the hair is slightly damp.
When your hair is dry, slightly dampen it. Never use the appliance
on wet hair!
Connecting and disconnecting attachments
Do not insert the mains plug into the wall socket until after you have
connected the attachment.
1Connect the attachment to the styler by aligning the arrows on
the attachment with the arrows on the styler and pressing the
attachment home. (fig. 1)
You will hear a click.
2To remove the attachment from the appliance, press the release
button and pull the attachment in the direction of the arrow. (fig. 2)

Using the appliance
Making curls in hair of any length
We advise you to perform a curl test to determine how long the
curling iron should be held in your hair to achieve a good result. Start
with 8 to 10 seconds.You may have to hold the curling tong in your hair
longer for tighter curls. Less tight curls will require less than 8 seconds.
1Snap the curling iron onto the appliance.

2Divide the hair into locks.
3Take a lock of hair, open the clip by pressing the lever and place
the lock between the barrel and the clip. (fig. 3)
4Release the lever and slide the barrel to the end of the lock.
Wind the hair round the barrel. Make sure the end of the lock is
wound in the required direction.
- Do not wind too much hair round the barrel at a time.
- The thinner the lock of hair, the tighter the curl will be.
- Do not wind a lock of hair more than twice round the barrel.
5Switch the appliance on by selecting setting I for a gentle, warm
airflow. Switch to setting II for a stronger and warmer airflow.

6Keep the curling iron in your hair until the hair is warm to the
touch.
7Switch the appliance off and unwind the lock of hair until the clip
can be opened again.
8Let the curls cool down before combing, brushing or finger-
combing the hair to finish your style. (fig. 5)
9Switch the appliance off when you have finished curling.Then
remove the curling iron from the appliance.

Making shiny loose curls in short and medium-length hair
1Snap the mixed bristle brush onto the appliance.

2Divide the hair into locks.
3Take a lock of hair and wind it round the brush. Make sure the
end of the lock is wound in the required direction.
◗If you wind the hair at right angles to the scalp, you will give your
hair optimum lift and volume.
4Switch the appliance on by selecting setting I or II.
5Keep the brush in your hair until the hair is warm to the touch.
6Switch the appliance off and remove the brush from you hair by
unwinding the lock when you have finished curling it.To make
sure the brush does not get tangled in the hair, you shouldn't
wind the lock more than two turns around the brush. (fig. 6)
7Leave the curls to cool down before combing, brushing or finger-
combing the hair to finish your style. (fig. 7)
8Remove the mixed bristle brush from the appliance.

Volume
1Use the large vent brush to add maximum volume and body to
your hair.
◗For long-lasting results, you can apply some mousse before styling
your hair.
2Place the brush in the hair. (fig. 8)
3Switch the appliance on by selecting setting I or II.
4Brush against the direction of hair growth while touching your
scalp with the brush pins.

5Move the brush away from the head while turning the brush.
The hair will be lifted and will fall lightly back onto the head.
6When you have finished styling your hair, switch off the appliance.
Then remove the large vent brush from the appliance.

Storage
1Unplug the appliance.
2Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance.
3Put the appliance in a safe place and let it cool down.
4The appliance can be stored by hanging it from its hanging loop.

3Clean the appliance with a small brush or a dry cloth.
Replacement
Always return the appliance to a service centre authorised by Philips
for examination or repair. Repair by unqualified people could cause an
extremely hazardous situation for the user.

Solution
Perhaps there is a power failure or the socket
is not live. Check if the power supply is
working. If it is, check whether the socket is live
by plugging in another appliance.
Perhaps you failed to switch the appliance on.
Make sure the appliance is plugged in.Then
switch it on by selecting the preferred setting.
Perhaps the appliance overheated and
switched itself off. Unplug the appliance and let
it cool down for a few minutes. Before you
switch the appliance on again, check the grille
to make sure it is not blocked by fluff, hair, etc.
Perhaps the appliance is not suitable for the
voltage to which it has been connected. Make
sure that the voltage indicated on the
appliance corresponds to the local mains
voltage.
Perhaps the mains cord of the appliance is
damaged. If the mains cord is damaged, the
appliance must be discarded.
Problem
The appliance does not work
at all.

Important
Lisez les instructions du mode d'emploi avant d'utiliser l'appareil et

◗Avant de brancher l'appareil, vérifiez que la tension indiquée sur
l'appareil correspond bien à la tension de votre secteur.
◗Tenez l'appareil à l'écart de l'eau. Ne l'utilisez pas près d'une
baignoire, d'un lavabo ou d'un évier. Lorsque vous utilisez
l'appareil dans la salle de bains, débranchez-le après utilisation car
la proximité de l'eau représente un risque même si l'appareil est
arrêté.
◗Pour plus de protection, il est conseillé de brancher l'appareil sur
une prise de courant protégée par un disjoncteur différentiel de
30mA maxi si vous utilisez l'appareil dans la salle de bains.
Demandez conseil à votre électricien.
◗En cas de surchauffe, l'appareil se mettra automatiquement à
l'arrêt. Débranchez alors l'appareil et attendez quelques minutes
afin qu'il refroidisse.Après avoir vérifié que la grille d'entrée d'air

ne soit pas obstruée par des peluches ou des cheveux etc., vous
pouvez à nouveau brancher l'appareil.
◗Vérifiez régulièrement le cordon d'alimentation.
◗N'enroulez pas le cordon secteur autour de l'appareil.
◗Si le cordon d'alimentation est endommagé, il ne doit pas être
remplacé et l'appareil doit être mis au rebus.
◗Assurez-vous que les accessoires soient complètement secs -
aussi bien à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur - avant de les attacher.
◗Les accessoires chauffent pendant l'utilisation. Evitez le contact
avec la peau.
◗Veillez à ne jamais obstruer la grille d'entrée d'air.
◗Tenez l'appareil à l'écart des enfants.
◗Débranchez toujours l'appareil après utilisation.
◗Attendez que l'appareil refroidisse avant de le ranger.
Préparation à l'emploi
Cheveux
◗Avant d'utiliser le Airstylist, démêlez vos cheveux à l'aide d'un
peigne ou d'une brosse.
◗Airstylist est plus efficace sur cheveux légèrement humides.
Lorsque les cheveux sont secs, humidifiez-les un peu. N'utilisez
jamais l'appareil sur cheveux mouillés!
Connecter et déconnecter les accessoires
Insérez la fiche dans la prise murale uniquement après avoir
connecté l'accessoire.
1Connectez l'accessoire sur l'appareil en vous assurant que les
flèches de l'accessoire soient bien alignées avec celles de l'appareil
et fixez l'accessoire. (fig. 1)
Vous entendrez un clic.
2Pour retirer l'accessoire de l'appareil, appuyez sur le bouton de
déverrouillage et tirez sur l'accessoire dans la direction de la
flèche. (fig. 2)

Mode d'emploi
Boucler des cheveux courts ou longs
Nous vous conseillons de faire un test sur une boucle pour déterminer
combien de temps vous devez tenir le fer à boucler dans vos cheveux
pour obtenir de bons résultats. Commencez par 8 à 10 secondes. Il
peut être nécessaire de tenir le fer dans vos cheveux quelque temps de
plus pour obtenir des boucles plus serrées. Les boucles moins serrées
nécessitent moins de 8 secondes.
1Fixez le fer à boucler sur l'appareil.
Voir "Préparation à l'emploi", section "Connecter et déconnecter les
accessoires".
2Divisez les cheveux en mèches.
3Prenez une mèche et serrez-la entre la barre métallique et le
levier. (fig. 3)
4Relâchez le levier et coulissez la barre métallique vers l'extrémité
de la mèche. Enroulez la mèche autour de la barre.Assurez-vous
que l'extrémité de la mèche est enroulée dans le sens souhaité.
- N'enroulez pas trop de cheveux autour de la barre métallique.
- Plus la mèche est mince, plus la boucle est serrée.
- N'enroulez pas une mèche autour de la barre métallique plus de
deux fois.
5Mettez l'appareil en marche en sélectionnant la position I pour un
flux d'air doux et chaud. Choisissez la position II pour un flux
d'air plus puissant et plus chaud. (fig. 4)
6Dès que les cheveux sont chauds, retirez le fer à boucler.
7Arrêtez l'appareil et déroulez la mèche jusqu'à ce que vous
puissiez ouvrir le levier.
8Laissez refroidir les boucles avant de mettre la touche finale à
votre coiffure en brossant ou peignant les cheveux ou en
arrangeant quelques mèches avec les doigts. (fig. 5)

9Après avoir fini de boucler vos cheveux, arrêtez l'appareil. Retirez
le fer à boucler de l'appareil.

Boucler légèrement les cheveux courts et mi-longs
1Fixez la brosse à picots mixtes sur l'appareil.
Voir "Préparation à l'emploi", section "Connecter et déconnecter les
accessoires".
2Divisez les cheveux en mèches.
3Prenez une mèche et enroulez-la autour de la brosse.Assurez-
vous que l'extrémité de la mèche est enroulée dans le sens
souhaité.
◗Vous donnerez ainsi un maximum de volume à votre coiffure si
vous tournez la brosse de telle façon que les cheveux fassent un
angle droit avec le cuir chevelu.
4Mettez l'appareil en marche en sélectionnant la position I ou II.
5Dès que les cheveux sont chauds, retirez la brosse.
6Après avoir fini de boucler vos cheveux, arrêtez l'appareil et
retirez la brosse en déroulant la mèche. Pour éviter d'emmêler la
brosse dans vos cheveux, il est conseillé de ne pas enrouler une
mèche autour de la brosse plus de deux rotations. (fig. 6)
7Laissez refroidir les boucles avant de mettre la touche finale à
votre coiffure en brossant ou peignant les cheveux ou en
arrangeant quelques mèches avec les doigts. (fig. 7)
8Retirez la brosse à picots mixtes d l'appareil.

Volume
1Utilisez la grande brosse à jet d'air pour ajouter un maximum de
volume à vos cheveux.
◗Pour obtenir des résultats de longue durée, appliquez un peu de
mousse avant de commencer à coiffer vos cheveux.
2Placez la brosse dans vos cheveux. (fig. 8)
3Mettez l'appareil en marche en sélectionnant la position I ou II.
4Brossez dans le sens inverse de la pousse des cheveux tout en
touchant le cuir chevelu avec les picots de la brosse.
5Retirez la brosse d'un mouvement rotatif.
Vos cheveux seront ainsi soulevés et retomberont légèrement sur la
tête.
6Après avoir fini, arrêtez l'appareil. Ensuite retirez la grande brosse
à jet d'air de l'appareil.

Rangement
1Débranchez l'appareil.
2N'enroulez pas le cordon secteur autour de l'appareil.
3Posez l'appareil dans un endroit sûr et laissez-le refroidir.
4L'appareil peut être rangé en l'accrochant par son anneau de
suspension. (fig. 9)
Nettoyage
1Débranchez l'appareil.
2Posez l'appareil dans un endroit sûr et laissez-le refroidir.
3Nettoyez l'appareil à l'aide d'une petite brosse ou un chiffon
humide.

Solution
Il y a peut-être une panne de courant ou la
prise n'est pas alimentée.Vérifiez si
l'alimentation électrique fonctionne. Dans ce
cas, branchez un autre appareil pour vérifier si
la prise est sous tension.
Vous avez peut-être oublié de mettre
l'appareil en marche. Assurez-vous qu'il est
branché. Ensuite mettez-le en marche en
sélectionnant le réglage préféré.
L'appareil a probablement surchauffé et s'est
arrêté automatiquement. Débranchez
l'appareil et attendez quelques minutes qu'il
refroidisse. Avant de le brancher à nouveau,
vérifiez que la grille ne soit pas bloquée par de
peluches, cheveux, etc.
L'appareil n'est probablement pas approprié
pour la tension sur laquelle il a été connecté.
Assurez-vous que la tension indiquée sur
l'appareil correspond bien à la tension de
votre secteur.
Le cordon d'alimentation de l'appareil est
probablement endommagé. Il doit être
remplacé par un Centre Service Agréé Philips.

Menyediakan untuk penggunaan
Rambut
◗Sebelum mula menggunakan Airstylist, sikatlah atau beruslah
rambut supaya licin dan tidak kusut.
◗Airstylist paling berkesan bila rambut lembab sedikit. Jika rambut
anda kering, lembabkannya sedikit. Jangan sekali-kali menggunakan
peralatan ke atas rambut yang basah!
Menyambungkan dan menanggalkan alat tambahan
Jangan masukkan plag utama ke soket dinding sehingga anda telah
menyambungkan alat tambahan.
1Sambungkan alat tambahan ke pendandan dengan menyebariskan
anak-anak panah pada alat tambahan dengan anak-anak panah
pada pendandan dan menekan alat tambahan ke kedudukan betul.

Anda akan terdengar bunyi klik.
2Untuk mencabutkan alat tambahan tersebut dari peralatan, tekan
butang pelepas dan tarik aksesori itu menurut arah anak panah.
