1. Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Philips SRU1060 universal remote
control. After installing the remote control you can operate a TV and a
DVD player/recorder with it.
You can find information about how to prepare this remote control for use
in the chapter ‘Installing the remote control’.
2. Installing the remote control
•A battery is already placed in the battery compartment of the
SRU1060. Just remove the protective foil from the battery and the
SRU1060 is ready for use.
Replacing the battery
The SRU1060 comes with one spare battery in the packaging.
1Press the little latch on the right hand side
of the battery compartment
Keep the latch pressed and slide the
compartment outwards.

2Place the spare CR2025 Lithium battery
into the battery compartment, as shown.
Make sure to place the text side of the
battery upwards.
3Slide the cover back and click it firmly
into place.
Note: If the LED blinks four times after every key press, the remote control is
indicating that its battery is running low. Replace the old battery with a
CR2025 Lithium battery.
Testing the remote control
The remote control has been programmed to operate most Philips brands.
Because the SRU1060 may use different signals for each brand and even for
different models of the same make, it is advisable to test whether your
brand responds to the SRU1060.
The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.
You can repeat the same steps for your DVD player/recorder which you
want to operate using the SRU1060.
Example of TV:
1Turn your TV on manually or use the original remote control.
Tune to channel 1.
2Check whether all the keys are working.
For an overview of the keys and their
functions see ‘3. Keys and functions’.
–If the TV responds as it should to all of the
key commands the SRU1060 is ready for
use.
If the LED does not light up, check whether the battery has been
properly inserted.
See ‘Inserting the battery’.
•If the device does not respond at all or not to all of the key
commands, follow the instructions under ‘Setting the remote
control’, or for online setup go to: www.philips.com/urc.

Setting the remote control
This is only necessary if your brand does not respond to the SRU1060.
If that is the case, the SRU1060 does not recognize the brand and/or
model of your brand and you need to program the remote control to do
so.
The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.
You can repeat the same steps when setting the SRU1060 for your
DVD player/recorder.
You can set the remote control either automatically or manually.
Automatically setting the remote control
The remote control will now automatically search for the right code for
your brand.
Example of TV:
The keys between brackets are used for setting the SRU1060 for your
DVD player/recorder.
1Make sure the TV is switched on and select a channel using the
original remote control or the keys on the TV
(for example channel 1).The SRU1060 emits the ‘switch off TV’ signal
for all models of TV that are stored in the memory.
•If the device is a DVD player/recorder, insert a disk and start playback.
2Then keep keys VOL + and PROG +
(5and 6) on the SRU1060 pressed
simultaneously for three seconds,until the
LED flashes twice and then remains lit.
3Press and hold the TV (DVD) key of
the SRU1060.

– The SRU1060 now starts emitting all known . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
‘TV off’ signals, one by one.
Each time a code is sent, the LED lights up.
5When your TV switches off (stand-by), release the TV (DVD) key of
the SRU1060 immediately.
–The SRU1060 has now found a code that works on your TV.
6Check if you can operate all functions on your TV with the SRU1060.
•If this is not the case, you can redo the automatic setting.
The SRU1060 will then search for a code that works better.
–After the SRU1060 has run through all the known codes, the search
will stop automatically and the LED stops flashing.
–Automatic programming of a TV takes a maximum of 5 minutes.
For DVD this time is 2 minutes.
Manually setting the remote control
Example of TV:

2Look up the code of your TV in the
code list at the back of this manual.

The code exists of a combination of 5 keys
(always the cursor keys and the OK key in
various combinations). E.g. 1, OK, 3, OK, 4.
One or more codes are shown for each
brand. Note the first code.
Be careful! There are separate tables for TV,
and DVD.
On our website www.philips.com/urc you can directly select your device
typenumber to find the right code.
Make sure you use the codes from the correct table.
3Keep keys VOL + and PROG +
(5and 6) on the SRU1060 pressed
simultaneously for three seconds until the
LED flashes twice and then remains lit.
4Then enter the code noted in step 2
using the 1,2,3,4and OK keys.
–The LED will now flash twice. If the LED
flashes once for an extended period, the
code has not been entered properly or the
wrong code has been entered.
Start again from step 2.
5Point the SRU1060 at the TV and check that it responds as it should.
–If the TV responds to all of the key commands, the SRU1060 is ready
for use. Do not forget to note your code.
•If the device does not respond at all, or not to all of the key
commands, start again from step 2 and try the next code from
the list.

4. Restoring the original functions of your
remote control
1Keep keys DISC MENU and BACK on
the SRU1060 pressed simultaneously for
three seconds,until the LED flashes twice
and then remains lit.
2Press the TV (or DVD) key.
All original functions have now been
restored and any extra functions have been
deleted.
5. Troubleshooting
• Problem
– Solution
• The LED blinks four times after every key press.
– The remote control is indicating that its battery is running low. Replace the old
battery with a CR2025 Lithium battery.
•The device you want to operate does not respond and the LED does
not flash when you press a key.
–Replace the old battery with a CR2025 Lithium battery.
•The device you want to operate does not respond but the LED does
flash when a key is pressed.
–Point the SRU1060 at the device and make sure that there are no
obstructions between the SRU1060 and the device.
•The SRU1060 does not respond properly to commands.
–Maybe you are using the wrong code.Try programming the SRU1060 again
using another code, which is mentioned under the brand of your device, or
reset for automatic search to find the right code. If the device still does not
respond, call our helpline.

•You have difficulties operating all of the functions on your device.
– Maybe the SRU1060 has to be adapted to the model of the device.
Call our helpline for details.
•Your brand of device is not in the code list.
– Try to set the SRU1060 automatically. See ‘Automatically setting the
remote control’.
•None of the codes works during manual setting of the remote control.
– If that is the case, follow the instructions under ‘Automatically setting the
remote control’.

1. Introduction
Félicitations pour votre achat d’une télécommande universelle Philips
SRU1060. Après avoir installé la télécommande, vous pourrez l’utiliser pour
commander un téléviseur et un lecteur/enregistreur de DVD.
Vous trouverez les informations sur la préparation de la télécommande
dans le chapitre Installation de la télécommande.
2. Installation de la télécommande
•Une pile se trouve déjà dans le compartiment de la pile de la
SRU1060. Il suffit de retirer le film protecteur de la pile pour que la
SRU1060 soit prête à l’emploi.
Remplacement de la pile
La SRU1060 est fournie avec une pile de rechange.
1Appuyez sur la languette située à droite du
compartiment de la pile.
Tenez la languette enfoncée et faites glisser
le compartiment vers l’extérieur.ment

2Placez la pile au lithium CR2025 de
rechange dans le compartiment de
la pile, de la façon indiquée.
Veillez à placer le côté texte de la pile
vers le haut.
3Replacez le couvercle et emboîtez-le.
Remarque: Si le voyant clignote quatre fois après chaque pression de touche,
c’est que la télécommande indique que sa pile est faible. Remplacez
la pile par une pile au lithium CR2025 neuve.
Essai de la télécommande
Cette télécommande a été programmée pour commander la plupart des
appareils Philips. La SRU1060 pouvant utiliser différents signaux pour
chaque marque et même pour différents modèles de la même marque, il
est conseillé de vérifier si votre appareil réagit à la SRU1060.
L’exemple ci-dessous (téléviseur) vous montre comment effectuer cet essai.
Vous pouvez répéter les mêmes étapes pour le lecteur/enregistreur de
DVD que vous souhaitez commander à l’aide de la SRU1060.
Exemple de téléviseur :
1Mettez votre téléviseur sous tension manuellement ou utilisez la
télécommande d’origine. Sélectionnez la chaîne 1.
2Vérifiez que toutes les touches fonctionnent.

–Si le téléviseur réagit normalement à la
pression de toutes les touches, la SRU1060
est prête à l’emploi. Si le voyant ne
s’allume pas, vérifiez si la pile a été insérée correctement.

•Si l’appareil ne réagit pas du tout, ou ne réagit pas à la
pression de toutes les touches, suivez les instructions sous
‘Configuration de la télécommande’, ou effectuez une
configuration en ligne sur : www.philips.com/urc.

Configuration de la télécommande
Elle est nécessaire seulement si votre appareil ne réagit pas à la SRU1060.
Si c’est le cas, la SRU1060 ne reconnaît pas la marque et/ou le modèle de
votre appareil.Vous devrez alors la programmer.
L’exemple ci-dessous (téléviseur) vous montre comment effectuer cet essai.
Vous pouvez répéter les mêmes étapes pour configurer la SRU1060 pour
votre lecteur/enregistreur de DVD.
Vous pouvez régler la télécommande automatiquement ou manuellement.
Réglage automatique de la télécommande
La télécommande va maintenant rechercher automatiquement le code de
votre appareil.
Exemple de téléviseur :
Les touches entre parenthèses servent à configurer la SRU1060 pour vos
lecteurs/enregistreurs de DVD.
1Vérifiez que le téléviseur est sous tension et sélectionnez une chaîne
en utilisant la télécommande d’origine ou les touches situées sur le
téléviseur (par exemple la chaîne 1). La SRU1060 émet le signal «
mise hors tension du téléviseur » pour tous les modèles de téléviseur
mémorisés.
•Si l’appareil est un lecteur/enregistreur de DVD, insérez un DVD et
lancez la lecture.
2Puis tenez les touches VOL + et PROG +
(5et 6) de la SRU1060 enfoncées
simultanément pendant trois secondes,
jusqu’à ce que le voyant clignote deux fois
avant de rester allumé.
3Tenez enfoncée la touche TV (DVD)
de la SRU1060.

–La SRU1060 commence alors à émettre
‘tous les signaux mise hors tension du
téléviseur, un par un.Chaque fois qu’un code
est envoyé, le voyant s’allume.
4Quand votre téléviseur s’éteint (veille),
relâchez la touche TV (DVD) de la SRU1060 immédiatement.
–La SRU1060 vient de trouver un code correspondant à votre
téléviseur.
5Vérifiez si vous pouvez utiliser toutes les fonctions de votre téléviseur
avec la SRU1060.
•Si ce n'est pas le cas, vous pouvez recommencer le réglage
automatique.
La SRU1060 recherchera alors un meilleur code.
–Une fois que la SRU1060 a parcouru tous les codes connus, la
recherche s’arrête automatiquement et le voyant cesse de clignoter.
–La programmation automatique d’un téléviseur dure 5 minutes
maximum.
Pour un lecteur/enregistreur de DVD, elle dure 2 minutes.

Ce code est une combinaison de 5 touches
(diverses combinaisons des touches de
déplacement du curseur et de la touche
OK). Par exemple : 1, OK, 3, OK, 4.
Un ou plusieurs codes sont indiqués pour
chaque marque.
Notez le premier code.
Attention! Il y a des tableaux séparés pour les téléviseurs et les
lecteurs/enregistreurs de DVD.
Sur notre site Web www.philips.com/urc, vous pouvez directement sélectionner
le numéro de type de votre appareil pour trouver le code correct.Veillez à
utiliser les codes du tableau correspondant.
3Tenez les touches VOL + et PROG +
(5et 6) de la SRU1060 enfoncées
simultanément pendant trois secondes,
jusqu’à ce que le voyant clignote deux fois
avant de rester allumé.
4Ensuite, saisissez le code noté à l’étape
2 en utilisant les touches 1,2,3,4et OK.
–Le voyant clignotera alors deux fois. Si le
voyant clignote une fois pendant une longue
période, c’est que le code n’a pas été saisi
correctement ou qu’un code incorrect a été
saisi. Recommencez à l’étape 2.
5Orientez la SRU1060 vers le téléviseur et vérifiez s’il réagit normalement.
–If the TV responds to all of the key commands, the SRU1060 is ready

•Si l’appareil ne réagit pas du tout, ou ne réagit pas à la

4. Restauration des fonctions d’origine de
votre télécommande
1Tenez les touches DISC MENU et BACK
de la SRU1060 enfoncées simultanément
pendant trois secondes, jusqu’à ce que le
voyant clignote deux fois avant de rester
allumé.
2Appuyez sur la touche TV (ou DVD).
Toutes les fonctions d’origine sont alors
restaurées et toutes les fonctions
supplémentaires sont supprimées.
5. Dépannage

•La SRU1060 ne réagit pas correctement aux commandes.
–Vous utilisez peut-être un code incorrect. Essayez de reprogrammer la
SRU1060 en utilisant un autre code, cité sous la marque de votre appareil,
ou effectuez une recherche automatique du code correct. Si l’appareil ne
réagit toujours pas, appelez notre service d’assistance.

1. Introducción
Le felicitamos por su compra del mando a distancia universal SRU1060 de
Philips. Después de instalar el mando a distancia, puede controlar con él un
televisor y un reproductor de DVD.
Pude encontrar información sobre cómo preparar este mando a distancia

2. Instalación del mando a distancia
•Ya hay colocada una pila en el compartimiento de pilas del SRU1060.
Simplemente retire el papel de aluminio protector de la pila y el
SRU1060 está listo para utilizarse.
Cambio de la pila
El SRU1060 incluye una pila de repuesto en el paquete.
1Presione el pequeño cierre situado en el
lado derecho del compartimiento de pilas.

2Coloque la pila de litio CR2025 de

de texto de la pila que incorpora texto.
3Vuelva a deslizar la tapa hacia dentro hasta
que se cierre, lo que será indicado por un clic.
Nota: Si el LED parpadea cuatro veces después de cada pulsación de tecla, el
mando a distancia indica que la pila se está agotando. Cambie la pila
vieja por una pila de litio CR2025.
Prueba del mando a distancia
El mando a distancia ha sido programado para que controle la mayoría de
marcas de Philips. Debido a que el SRU1060 puede utilizar diferentes
señales para cada marca e incluso para diferentes modelos de la misma
marca, se aconseja comprobar si su marca responde al SRU1060.
En el ejemplo siguiente (televisor) se dan instrucciones para hacer esto.
Puede repetir los mismos pasos para el reproductor/grabador de DVD que
quiera controlar con el SRU1060.
Ejemplo de televisor:
1Encienda el televisor manualmente o utilice el mando a distancia
original .
Sintonice el canal 1.
2Compruebe que todas las teclas funcionen.
Para obtener una descripción general de las
teclas y sus funciones, consulte '3.Teclas y
funciones'.
-Si el televisor responde como debería a
todos los comandos de las teclas, el
SRU1060 está listo para utilizarse.
Si el LED no se enciende, compruebe si la pila se ha insertado
correctamente. Consulte 'Inserción de la pila'.
•Si el dispositivo no responde a ninguno o a alguno de los
comandos de las teclas, siga las instrucciones bajo
'Configuración del mando a distancia’, o para configuración en
línea vaya a: www.philips.com/urc.
