To avoid incorrect operation of the equipment and possible physical risk to the operator, please
read and strictly follow the instructions contained in this manual.
Note, these instructions are in addition to the safety rules that apply in the country where the air
compressor is installed.
Before packing for shipment, each machine undergoes a rigorous test to ensure the absence of
any manufacturing faults and to demonstrate that the device can perform all the functions for
which it has been designed.
This manual must be maintained available in any moment for future references and it has to be
intended as inherent part of the relevant machine.
Due to the continuous technical evolution, we reserve the right to introduce any necessary
change without giving previous notice.

General Information
INTRODUCTION
This instruction manual has been written to simplify the use and maintenance of the compressor. Strict
attention should be paid to the contents of this manual to ensure acorrect and economical operation of the
compressor.
The "WARNING" indications underline those operations which, if not carried out correctly, could cause
damage to people or objects. We strongly recommend the use of original spare parts which will guarantee
the efficiency and service life of the compressor.

Installation
INSTALLATION
Place the compressor in a well ventilated area away from atmospheric agents.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
After removing the compressor from its packaging and having as certained that it is in
perfect condition, carry out the following operations:
•Fit the wheels and rubber washer
on the tanks where they are not
installed (Fig. 1).
•The three-phase compressors are
supplied with cables without plug.
Connect ari "EEC 252" 16A 3-pin
plug + earth to the pressure switch
outlet cable.

START UP
Check that the tension corresponds to the indication on the plate
with the electrical data (fig.2), tolerance must be not more than +
5%:
Turn the knob of the pressure switch to "0"
(fig.3) for the models with air receivers; turn
the switch to "0" (fig. 4) for models without
air receivers.
Insert the plug into the socket (fig.5) and start the compressor by
turning the knob of the pressure switch, or switch to "1".
The operation of the compressor is completely automatic and is controlled by the pressure switch
which stops it when the pressure in the air receiver reaches the maximum level and re-starts it
when it when it goes down to the minimum level; if an extension is required for the infeed cable, it
should have a cross- section for the wires in proportion to its length.

CAUTION
Electric compressors must be connected to a power socket protected by an adequate differential
switch (thermomagnetic).
The motor of the compressor is fitted with a thermal protection inside-the wrap, which stops the
compressor when the temperature is too high.
Should this be tripped, the compressor will re-start automatically
after 15-20 minutes.
The motors of the compressor models "SEV-CSA" are fitted with an
automatic amperometric thermal switch with manual reset, located
outside on the housing.
When the thermal switch is tripped, wait a few minutes before
manually resetting the switch (fig. 6).
After connecting the compressor to the air line, run a load at the
maximum pressure and make sure the machine functions correctiy.
The feed pipe unit can reach higt temperatures. Do not touch these
parts when working in their prosimity in order to avoid burns (fig. 7).
Before starting work, leave the compressor on for several minutes with the air valve completely
open. After the first 5 hours of operation, check that the screws of the head and motor fairing are
tight.
On start-up in compressors running on three-phase voltage, make sure the cooling fan turns in
the right direction (shown by the arrow on the motor casing). The same precautions should be
taken with compressors having a 60-Hz power supply.

ADJUSTMENT OF WORKING PRESSURE
Compressors with air receivers:
Unblock the knob of the pressure reducer by pulling it up, adjust the pressure to the required level
by turning the knobclockwise to increase it and anti-clockwise to decrease it.
When the required pressure is reached, block the knob by
pushing it firmly down (fig.8).
Compressors without air receivers:
Rotate the knob until the indication of the pressure required is level with the arrow on the housing.
Turn it clockwise to increase the pressure and anti-clockwise to
decrease it (fig. 9).

MAINTENANCE
Every 50 working hours, remove the intake
filter and clean the filter element with
compressed air (fig. 10).
Release the condensate from the air
receiver at least once a week by opening
the discharge tap (fig. 11).
HOW TO FIX SMALL ERRORS
Air leaks from the pressure switch valve: this is caused by a poor seal on the stop valve.
How to fix it (fig. 12):
•Emply the tank completely.
•Unscrew the hexagonal head of the valve (A).
•Clean both the rubber disk (B) and its housing thoroughly.
•Re-assemble the unit carefully.
Air leaks
These may be caused by a poor seal on some fittings.
Check all fittings by wetting them with soapy water. The
compressor runs but doesn't load
Valves (fig. 13) or a seal B1 B2) broken. Replace the damaged
part.

WARNING
•Avoid at all costs, unscrewing any joints with the air receiver under pressure-always ensure
that the air receiver is empty;
•Never open the air receiver without first emptying it of all the air;
•Do not work on the compressor without first unplugging the unit from the electrical socket.
•Ambient working temperature 0° + 35 °C;
•Do not point water or other inflammable liquids, towards the compressor;
•Do not place flammable objects near the compressor.
•Turn switch or pressure switch to the"OFF"position when not in use.
•Never direct the air nozzle at persons or animals.
•Do not transport the compressor with the tank under pressure.
•Keep children and animals away from the area where
machine is operating.
•If compressor is used for painting:
1. Do not operate in closed spaces or in the proximity of
naked flames.
2. Ensure that the room where you are working has a
sufficient change of air.
3. Use a mask to protect nose andmouth(Fig.14).
•To connect any pneumatic tool to a compressor without an air receiver use a rubber, heat
resistant hose. This special hose should only be ordered as a spare pant from the supplier.
•After using the compressor, always disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet.
•Compressor not for use on building sites. Maximum working pressure 8.5 bar Maximum
utilization pressure 8 bar
•For the European market, compressor tanks are built in accordance with EC Directive
87/404
•Compressors for the European market are built in conformity with Directive 89/392/EC
(Machine Directive) and subsequent modifications.
•Free field noise level at 1 m distance + 3 dB (A at maximum running pressure.
