Read this first
The BR-95D controls all functions of the Pio-
neer BA-9000 Series home terminals, as well
as yourTV’s power, volume and mute func-
tions.
Batteries
The BR-95D uses two
AAA alkaline batteries.To
install the batteries,
1Press on the ridged
area and slide the
battery compartment
lid off.
2Insert two new AAA
alkaline batteries as
shown inside the bat-
tery compartment.
3Replace battery cover.
Make sure the cover
“snaps” into place.
5 MENU, CURSOR, ENTER
On-screen display navigation.
6 ORDER
Purchase pay-per-view programming.
7 RED INDICATOR LIGHT
Blinks when a key is pressed to indicate remote
is working. Assists in setting up the remote.
8 SETUP
Programs the remote to operate theTV on/off
and volume functions.
9 A/B
Controls the signal to theTV set, via the op-
tional Bypass Adapter.
Refer to the Bypass Adapter instruction
manual for details.
10 CHANNEL /
Changes the channel on the terminal.
11 0 — 9; LAST CH, FAV CH RECALL
Direct channel/numeric entry keys.
Setup steps
To set up your BR-95D to operate yourTV’s
power, volume and mute functions, first lo-
cate your TV model in the Setup Codes table
on the other side of this sheet, and make
note of the three-digit setup code(s).
Now follow these simple steps:
1Turn on yourTV.
2Press and hold the SETUP key until the
red light blinks twice.
3Enter the first three-digit setup code. The
red light blinks twice after the last digit.
4Aim the BR-95D remote at theTV.
5PressTV POWER.TheTV should turn off.
If theTV does not respond,
1Repeat the above steps, using the re-
maining three-digit codes (if any) in step
3.
2If theTV still fails to respond, and no
codes appear to work, try the Search
Method later in this manual.
Store your code
Important! When you find the code that oper-
ates yourTV, write it in the spaces below, or
in the space provided on the BR-95D’s rear la-
bel, for future reference.
Search method
If theTV didn’t respond to the Setup Steps,
use this Search Method:
1Turn on yourTV.
2Press and hold the SETUP key until the
red light blinks twice.
3Press 9 9 1.The red light blinks twice after
the last digit.
4Aim the BR-95D remote at theTV.
5PressTV PWR. If theTV turns off, STOP.
Press SETUP to lock in that code. If the
TV does not turn off, press CH thenTV
PWR again and again until theTV turns
off. Proceed to Getting theTV Code.
BR-95D Keypad
Refer to the diagram in the far left column.
1 TV POWER
Turns yourTV on or off.
2 CATV POWER
Turns the home terminal on or off. May also
turn convenience outlet on and off.
Refer to
the home terminal’s Operating Instructions.
3 VOL + / –
Turns the sound level up or down.
4 MUTE
Reduces volume to minimum level.

Getting theTV code
If you forgot the storedTV code, or if you
used the Search Method, here is a way to
read out the currently stored three-digit
code for yourTV.
1Press and hold the SETUP key until the
red light blinks twice.
2Press 9 9 0.The red light blinks twice af-
ter the last digit.
3Press 1. Count the number of times the
red light blinks. This is the first digit of
the code.
In each step, if no blinks oc-
cur, the digit is 0 (zero).
4Press 2. Count the blinks for the second
digit.
5Press 3. Count the blinks for the third
digit.
6Write the code on this sheet or on the
setup code sticker on the back of the re-
mote.
Setting up volume control
TheVOL+ andVOL– keys controlTV volume
through either the home terminal or theTV.
For best results, use the BR-95D remote to
control volume through theTV, not the
home terminal.
If yourTV comes with a remote
control feature:
1Set the home terminal’s volume level to
50.
2Set theTV’s volume to a comfortable
level.
