You willsee the PLANET colorfullogo running statusof the USBphone inthe belowtool bar.
“Connected”statusmeansUSB phone and Skype areconnected. UP-120 can beused to
operateSkype.
“Disconnected”status(grayPLANETlogo)meansthat Skype doesn t connect withInternet
orUSBphone doesn t connect withcomputer.Pleaseconnect Skypeon theInternetorplugin
USB phone.
Setting ring volume
You can adjust the ringingvolumethrough
windowssystemvolumepanel
Setting voice volume
Right clickthe UP-120 logo icon and
choose “volumecontrol”, awindow
willpop up, then you can adjustthe
output and input volumeinthis
window. Speakerindicatetheoutput
volumeand micisinputvolume.
You can alsochange the outputvolumeby “Up”and “Down”keyof
UP-120 USB phone during calls.

Q2. How tochange the ringtones of USB phone?
A2 CurrentUSB Driversupportsfourdifferentring tones.Usercan edithisfavoritering to
replacethe defaultring.Ring filesaresaved at “C:\ProgramFiles\PLANETUP-120”.The
default fourring filesare: music1.wav, music2.wav, music3.wavand music4.wav.Usershould
replacethe originalring filewhen userwantstochangethe ring oreditanewring file,the file
shouldbe in.wavformat.
Forexample,you can renameyourownringfilemy_ring.wavtomusic1.wavand placethisfile
inC:\ProgramFiles\PLANETUP-120,nowthe ring1 isyourfavoritering tone.
Q3. WhenUSB phone rings, whyIcanhear2 rings--bothUSB phone
ringandSkype ring. How to deal withthis?
A3 Ifyou want tohearonlythe USBphone ring,pleaseset asbelow:
SkypeàToolàOptionàSound Altersàuncheck “playsoundwhensomebodyiscalling
me”
Ifyou wanttohearonlySkype ring,pleaseuseasilentring filetoreplacethe USBphone
ring file.And select “playsound when somebodyiscalling me”Weprovide asilentring file
(silent.wav)inourCD;you can usethisfiletoreplacethe ring file.PleaserefertoQ1for
the detailoperation.
Q4. Whysometimes the LCD displayflashingwhenUSB phone
ringing?
A4 IfyourUSB powersupplyislowerthan the USBphone powersupply,the LCD display
panelmayflashinringing even yourcomputerrestart. Inthiscase,you can setthe USB phone
ring volumetoalowervalue(referto ring_volume)toreducethe USBphone ringing power

A5 When severalprogramsusethe skype atthe sametime,thissymptommayhappen.
You can exitthe skype and the related programs,and then run the skype and USB phone

A6 IfyourUSBport can tsupplyenough powertothe USB phone,(forexample, using aPCI
USB cardbus.),the following mayhappen:powersurge indication inPC;no LCD displayin
USB phone orsomecharactersmissing. Pleasechangethe USBportinthiscase.
Q7. How tosolve ifthe otherpartyhears echo?
A7 When you usethe hand free function totalktoyourfriend and setthe MICinputvolume
toahigh value,thenyourfriend mayhearechoinhis/herside.You canrightclicktheUSB
phone icon inthe taskmenuand reducetheMICvalueinthevolumecontrol settingtocancel
the echo.
Q8. How tosolve ifsome voices missoutwhenusinghandfree?
A8 When using handsfree function,USBphone work inhalfduplexstatus,inthisstatus,if
the MICinputvolumehigherthan the otherpartyvoice,USBphone willautomaticallyreduce
the speakeroutputvolumetoreducethe echo.Soifthecallerand callee talkatthe sametime,
the one withthelowervoicewillbelistened withsomewordsmissing.Avoidspeakatthe same
timecan avoidthishappen.
