INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing a quality porch swing from Hinkle Chair Company. The
product you have purchased requires some assembly. This item has been carefully
inspected before packing to ensure it’s adherence to our strict Quality Control
Standards. Proper assembly will ensure not only your safety, but many years of
enjoyable use of this quality product. We STRONGLY suggest that you familiarize
yourself with these instructions prior to assembling this product. It’s up to you to
follow carefully EACH STEP of the assembly process. For your safety, DO NOT
SKIP any step indicated in these instructions. Use all the hardware provided as
indicated. Be sure to tighten all fasteners securely after assembly is complete. The
manufacturer will not be responsible for any damage or injury that results from
improper assembly of the swing. If you have any questions regarding the assembly

251-3025. All reference to left and right is facing the swing, not sitting in
it.

Hinkle Chair Company has made every effort to provide you with a ready-
to-assemble product that has the same quality as our fully assembled
rocking chairs. In the unlikely event that there are incorrect or missing
parts or that parts become damaged during shipping, following the
instructions below will protect you (The Customer) from accepting
responsibility for a product that is damaged or incomplete.
1st) Inspect all parts for any imperfection that might have occurred
during shipping.
2nd) In the case of damaged parts, individual parts will be sent as
replacements.
3rd) When you have determined that all parts are available and
undamaged, proceed with steps 1 through 4.
This product is intended for a covered porch or indoors. This product
should be cleaned weekly as you would with any other wooden furniture
product. If at any time during these steps, assistance is needed, please

Tools Required For Assembly (not included) Small Hammer.
Screwdriver, and Crescent Wrench or 1/2” Wrench

STEP 1:
Lay Swing on the shipping box during assembly to protect it from
scratching. Place Arm (E) with pre-drilled hole facing up. Insert Arm Post
(F) tenon into pre-drilled hole. Make sure the cut away portion at the bottom
of the post faces forward as depicted in Fig. 1

Lay Swing Arm (E) on its side exposing the pre-drilled hole near the front.
Place Arm Screw (K) into pre-drilled hole and begin threading in. Continue
until tight. Fig. 2

STEP 1:
Repeat the same process for the rear Arm Post (F). Again, ensure that the
cutout portion on the lower part of the Arm Post faces to the rear. Fig 3
Repeat this entire process for the other Arm.

STEP 2:
Attach assembled swing arm to Swing Seat (A) paying attention to Front and
Back Marked on Seat and placement of the arm as depicted in Fig. 4.

STEP 2:
Place Eye Bolt with washer(G) in the pre-drilled hole in the Swing Seat (A).
Push all the way through to expose threads on the other side of the Swing
Arm (F). Place all 4 Eye Bolts in on both sides. Fig. 5

Thread the provided nut onto the threads leaving the Eye Bolt Loose. This is
important as the chain will be impossible to install if the nut is fully
tightened. Complete for all four. Fig. 6

STEP 3:
Place Swing Back (B) on the box with the back facing down. Place left and
right Back Posts (C) with the bevel at the bottom facing upward. This is
critical for the swing to assemble correctly. Fig. 7

Place Back Bolt (I) into predrilled hole and thread in to threaded insert in
Swing Back (B). Tighten until snug but not fully tightened. Fig. 8

STEP 3:
Repeat the above step for the lower pre-drilled hole on the Back Post (C).

Repeat the entire previous step on the other side. Fig. 9

STEP 4:
Set the swing back between the two arms that protrude the back of the
swing. Notice the beveled bottom of the back post faces the back of the
swing seat. Place an Arm Bolt (I) into the pre-drilled hole at the rear of the
Arm and aligning with the threaded insert in the back post. Tighten until
snug but not fully tightened. Repeat for other side. Fig. 10

Place Back Screw (J) into the pre-drilled hole in the Back Post (C) and
thread into the pre-drilled hole in the back of the Swing Seat (A). Fully
tighten these screws. Repeat for other side. Fig. 11

STEP 5:
Place Small Button (H) into the pre-drilled hole on the inside of the arm.
Tap in gently with a hammer until flush with surface. Repeat for the rear
pre-drilled hole on the inside of the arm. Repeat for the other arm. Fig. 12

Place Small Button (H) into the pre-drilled hole in the Back Post (C). Tap in
with a hammer until flush. Repeat for the other side. Fig. 13
