PARTS LIST
Please do not throw away any packing material until all parts are verified as present.
Please check for ground stakes and poles on all sides of packing materials.
INSTALLATION
SELECT YOUR LOCATION
Solar products should be positioned where direct sunlight can be absorbed onto the
face of the solar panel for as many hours as possible throughout the day. Shadows
cast by homes, trees and structures will restrict the charging and effect the total hours of
operation of the lights.

Remove protective
film from solar
panels.
Turn the switch
underneath the remote
solar panel to “ON”
position.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Remove protective film from solar panels. To allow each battery to reach full
capacity, pull out the plastic tab and place in full sunlight for the first 12 hours.
Failure to do so can shorten the life of the battery or operation of the light.
To protect the glass from damage, do not use force during assembly. Keep the
glass in the packaging until you need to install it.
GROUND STAKES
Pre-drill a hole into the ground using a screwdriver. Do not make the hole larger than
the ground stake. Insert assembled solar light into the pre-made hole. Do NOT use a
hammer on the ground stakes as you could damage the item.

INSTALLATION / REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Slide the power switch to the “OFF” position.
2. Access the battery compartment by unscrewing the remote solar panel using a
Phillips head screwdriver.
3. Remove old battery and replace with new AA NiMh 450mAh rechargeable
battery. Do not use a smaller mAh battery as it will affect performance. Larger
mAh batteries are acceptable.
4. Ensure you have positioned the batteries with the correct polarity (+) and (-).
5. Replace battery cover and re-insert the screws on the remote solar panel.

6. Slide the power switch to the “ON” position and allow new batteries to fully
charge prior to the first use.

BATTERY WARNINGS
•Do not use alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or NiCd (nickel cadmium)
batteries in our solar lights.
•Only use NiMh rechargeable batteries (product include 1 NiMh rechargeable
battery)
•Do not mix battery types. Only use NiMh battery(s).
•Battery performance is affected by weather and temperature.
•Please expect REDUCED performance in adverse conditions of cold,
extreme cold, extreme heat plus humidity and dampness.
•Do not open, short circuit or mutilate batteries as injury may occur. Batteries
must be recycled or disposed of properly.
•Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the
intended use.
•Replace all batteries of a set at the same time.
•Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery
installation.
•Ensure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -).
•Remove batteries from equipment that will not be used for an extended period
of time. Remove used batteries promptly.
SUGGESTIONS
•Rechargeable batteries need to be charged for about 12 hours before using to
perform correctly.
•Our batteries come pre-charged but some discharge may happen during storage or
transit.
•Less than full sunlight during the day charges the batteries less.
•On cloudy days or rainy days it may take several days for the batteries to fully charge.
HOW SOLAR WORKS
During daylight hours, the sun will charge the batteries in the solar panel and the
lights will turn on at dusk. Light output depends upon how much light the solar
panel receives. Make sure to position the solar panel so that it receives
maximum sunlight. Should you have streetlights or other lighting that could shine

directly into or near the photocells, these lights may trigger the light sensor and
the lights may turn off. The photocell must sense darkness to operate.
WINTERTIME TIPS
It is recommended that solar lights not be used in freezing conditions. Monitor
weather and take solar items indoors for storage as needed. Keep snow or other
buildup off the solar panels so that the batteries are able to recharge.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If solar lights fail to come on
1. Be sure SWITCH on the back of the remote solar panel is turned to the “ON”
position.
2. Check to be sure there are no obstructions over the photocell located on the
top of solar panel.
3. Check to make sure that the battery(s) are installed correctly and there is
nothing blocking the battery terminals from making contact.
4. Check to make sure the photocell is positioned to sense both daylight and
night phase. If bright lights shine near or into the photocell, these lights may
trigger the light sensor and the lights may turn off. Bright lights can act like
daylight and keep the system from starting.
5. Battery(s) may need to be changed and vary by use, temperature, weather
conditions and heat. Replace batteries with the exact same type of
rechargeable batteries.
6. Make sure the batteries are fully charged. It is important to charge the
battery(s) for 12 hours in full sun before usage. Ensure the switch is in the
“ON” position to charge the battery. Cloudy or rainy days may require a
longer charging time.
7. In some cases, you may have to open the battery compartment and “seat” the
batteries correctly between metal clips as some dislodging may occur during
the shipment, ensuring correct polarity (+) and (-).
8. Cloudy or rainy days generate far less charge on the solar panel and thus
fewer hours of operation. Prolonged cloudy or rainy days can affect
performance dramatically.
