1. Make sure that the batteries are installed and that the
cables for the front and rear locks are properly connected.
2. On the homepage of Populife App, click the " " icon for
pairing, select "Deadbolt", and follow the guide to light up the
lock keypad, then click "Next" to start scanning.
3. When the " " sign appears in the list of scanned locks,
click the item to pair the lock.
If the pairing fails, please check and make sure that the
batteries and the cable are OK, and restart Populife App as
well as phone Bluetooth, then try again.

1. If you have already mounted a mechanical deadbolt, please
remove and replace it with our smart Deadbolt.
Attention
Do not use electric drill, this might damage your lock!
3. Kindly confirm the door’s interior thickness.
(Must be between 1-3/8” to 2-3/4”)

2. Check the door's opening direction: If the front body is
fastened on the left, turn the toggle button to the L, and if it is
fastened on the right, turn it to the R.

1. Insert the front body cable through the rectangular hole on the
rubber pad.
2. Connect the wire connector from the front body through the hole to
the back body. Ensure that the wire is installed properly and securely.

11. Rear lock
When assembled, thumb turn knob to test if it is in the right position.
If you can NOT turn the knob properly, please pull the PIN out,
turn 90° and re-insert and rechek. Once the bolt is moving
properly, the knob is in the right position.
1) Keep the bolt closed

If you turned the toggle to R in page 3, turn the knob clockwise
to the end (with the “dot indicator” on the knob oriented upwards).

Quick Start Guide
When the lock is installed successfully, you can test whether
the lock works normally:
1. Enter 123456 and end with " " button on the keypad to
unlock normally.
2. Long press the " " button on the keypad for 3seconds, it
can be locked normally.
Factory mode (Working without App)
1. Open the battery cover and insert 4AA batteries as described
in page 13.
2. Touch the keypad to wake up the Deadbolt, enter the
default password 123456 and end with “ ”. You will hear a
long beep sound suggesting the Deadbolt is activated.
Note
1. The batteries are not included in package, you need to
prepare them by yourself.
2. The “ ” button is not part of the password, it’s for confirmation.
Read these notes before using
1. In "Factory mode" (Before App pairing), the default keypad
password is 123456. Once the lock is paired in Populife App,
the default password becomes invalid and you will get a new
Admin password in "Lock settings" in App. If you delete the
lock from the App, the password 123456 becomes valid again.
2. To control the Deadbolt more conveniently, like unlocking via
Bluetooth, creating and sharing passwords, you can install “Populife”
App through App Store, Google Play or the QR code below.
3. The Deadbolt is controlled by the phone via Bluetooth.
While operating, please enable phone Bluetooth, and make
sure that the Deadbolt is within the range of phone Bluetooth
(Allowing for different circumstances, the suggested distance
is less than 9 meters);

Pair the Deadbolt in App
In the homepage of Popuife App, click " " on top right >
Select "Deadbolt" > Select the option with " " > Follow the
instructions to complete the pairing.
If the pairing is unsuccessful, you can take the following steps:
• Restart Bluetooth and Internet connection on your phone;
• Restart Populife App on your phone;
• Pair the Deadbolt again.
If it still doesn’t work, maybe because the lock has been
paired before. To make it, you can do either of the following:
1. If the lock was paired before, please get the previous owner
of the lock to delete it in the App. The "Delete" button can be
found at the bottom of “Lock settings”.
2. If the lock is newly bought, please reset it according to FAQ
13 in page 22.
Note
When adding a lock in Populife app, ensure that the lock keypad is
lit up all the time. If the lock item on app’s "Nearby Locks" page is
displayed without a "+" icon which indicates the lock is not addable,
please long-press the "Reset" button on the front panel until you
hear a beep sound. Then you can add the lock again as it is.
(Before adding a lock, please ensure that the network connection
is good and phone Bluetooth is enabled all the time. If you are
using an Android phone, please allow the location permission in
the phone settings).
Unlock by Admin Password
Admin password is generated after pairing successfully, which
can be used to unlock via keypad. If the number you entered
is incorrect, you can press the “ ” key to re-enter. Or you can
enter the Decoy Code to unlock it. For details about decoy
code, please refer to page 18 of this user guide.
Note
1. If you want to modify it, you can follow below:
Keep your phone near the lock >> Lock page in Populife App >
Settings > Admin Password > Enter your password > Save
2. If you enter the wrong password continuously for more than
5 times, the keypad will be disabled for 5minutes. You can
enable it immediately by unlocking via Bluetooth in Populife
App or wait for 5minutes to enter the correct password again.

How to Use
Unlock by Bluetooth key
Turn on Bluetooth, make sure the phone is close to the
Deadbolt, and unlock the Deadbolt by clicking the UNLOCK
button in App.
Sharing Password
It is a 6-9 digits, time-limited password which can be created
in App by the administrator or authorized user. You can create
and share passwords by following these steps:
Lock page in Populife App > Passwords > Click the button
" " on top right > Create password > Configure and create
the password > Share
Note
1. One-time password is valid within 6hours after created;
Permanent/Clear/Cyclic password must be activated within
24 hours after created; Period password must be activated
within 24 hours from its Start time;
2. When creating a Customized password, ensure that the
phone Bluetooth is enabled and your phone is close to the
Deadbolt.
Sharing Bluetooth key
Lock owner can authorize other Populife’s REGISTERED users
to unlock via Bluetooth keys in App. You can share Bluetooth
keys by following these steps:
Lock page in Populife App > Bluetooth keys > Click the button
" " on top right > Send Bluetooth key > Configure and set
the Bluetooth key > Send
Unlocking records
You can view the operation records of the Deadbolt. And the
operation will be recorded only when the Deadbolt is unlocked
and locked successfully. You can view and synchronize the
records by following these steps:
Lock page in Populife App > Settings > Records
You can synchronize the unlocking and locking records via
Bluetooth near the Deadbolt.
