1. Vor der Inbetriebnahme
1.1. Reinigung
• Wischen Sie das Gerät mit einem weichen trocken bzw. leicht feuchten Tuch ab.
• Verwenden Sie für die Vorderseite bei Bedarf eine geringe Menge Glasreiniger.
1.2. Sicherheit
• Verwenden Sie keine beschädigten LAN-Kabel.
• Vermeiden Sie ein Knicken des LAN-Kabels und ziehen Sie nicht am Kabel.
• Stellen Sie keine schweren Gegenstände auf das LAN-Kabel.
• Achten Sie darauf, dass die Netzwerkdose, an der das Gerät angeschlossen ist, gut
zugänglich ist.
• Zum Entfernen des LAN-Steckers nicht am LAN-Kabel ziehen.
• Stellen Sie das Gerät außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern auf.
• Lassen Sie das Verpackungsmaterial nicht in die Hände von Kindern gelangen.
1.3. Betrieb
• Stellen Sie auf dem Gerät keine Gegenstände ab.
• Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht an einem Ort auf, an dem es Staub, Feuchtigkeit, Öl oder Rauch
ausgesetzt ist.
• Setzen Sie das Gerät nicht direkter Sonneneinstrahlung oder anderen Wärmequellen aus.
• Wenn das Gerät Brandgeruch oder Rauch von sich gibt, ziehen Sie sofort das LAN-Kabel ab.
• Stecken Sie keine Gegenstände in die Luftönungen oder Anschlüsse des Geräts.
• Lösen Sie vor einem Transport alle Kabel vom Gerät.
• Lassen Sie Kinder nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

3. Allgemeine Funktionsbeschreibung
Das web!SIGN101 ist ein HTML5 fähiger Monitor mit einem 10.1“ TFT Display zur Anzeige von Web-
seiten. Nach dem Ende des Bootvorgangs wird die in der Konguration festgelegte Webseite ange-
zeigt. Falls die angezeigte Webseite eine regelmäßige Aktualisierung nicht unterstützt, kann in der
Konguration des web!SIGN101 ein Intervall für die Aktualisierung durch den Browser vorgegeben
werden.

Das web!SIGN101 ist in Varianten mit und ohne PCAP Touch für die Montage auf der Wand oder in
der Wand erhältlich. Er wird an einen PoE-Switch angeschlossen und über das LAN-Kabel mit Span-
nung und Daten versorgt.
4. Installation
4.1. Voraussetzung
Zur Versorgung mit Spannung und Daten muss das web!SIGN101 über LAN an einen PoE Switch
gemäß Standard IEEE 802.3af angeschlossen werden.
4.2. Anschließen
Bitte lesen Sie die beiliegende Installationsanleitung für das web!SIGN101 und befolgen Sie die ein-
zelnen Schritte um das Gerät zu montieren und anzuschließen.
4.3. Inbetriebnahme
Das web!SIGN101 ist für eine schnelle Inbetriebnahme ab Werk vorkonguriert.

Nachdem Sie, wie in der beiliegenden Installationsanleitung beschrieben, die Verbindung zu einem
PoE-Switch hergestellt haben, bootet das web!SIGN101 automatisch. Der Bootvorgang dauert ca.
20 Sekunden. Anschließend werden für ca. 30 Sekunden die Netzwerk- und Systemeinstellungen
angezeigt (siehe Abbildung 1). Zum Ende des Bootvorgangs ruft das web!SIGN101 die eigene Web-
seite defaultpage.html auf

5. Konguration
5.1. Konguration starten
Kongurieren Sie jetzt das web!SIGN101 entsprechend Ihren Anforderungen. Verbinden Sie einen
PC mit dem Netzwerk und önen Sie den Internet Browser. Um auf die Login-Seite für die Kongu-
ration zu gelangen, geben Sie als Adresse (URL) den Hostnamen des web!SIGN101 (http://ws1 bzw.
ws1/) ein.
Alternativ können Sie auch die IP-Adresse des web!SIGN101 eingeben. Sie sehen die IP-Adresse auf
der Startseite beim Bootvorgang. Es önet sich das Login Fenster.

Schließen Sie jede Änderung der Kongurationsdaten mit einem Klick auf den roten „Submit and
Reboot“ Button ab. Jetzt werden die Kongurationsdaten auf Richtigkeit geprüft und falls die Kon-
guration korrekt ist, übernimmt das web!SIGN101 die Daten und führt einen Neustart durch.
Falls die Eingaben fehlerhaft sind, erscheint eine entsprechende Fehlermeldung. Die Daten werden
nicht übernommen und Sie müssen die Eingaben korrigieren.
5.2. LAN
Hinweis: Eine falsche Netzwerkkonguration kann die Stabilität des gesamten Netzwerkes beein-
trächtigen und zumTotalausfall des Netzwerks führen. Nehmen Sie hier nur Änderungen
in Abstimmung mit dem Netzwerkadministrator vor!
Ab Werk ist das web!SIGN101 auf DHCP eingestellt. Es bezieht seine Netzwerkeinstellungen von
einem vorhandenen DHCP-Server im Netzwerk. Belassen Sie diese Einstellung, falls Sie die Netz-
werkdaten nicht individuell kongurieren müssen.
Umstellen auf feste IP-Adresse
Wenn Sie eine feste IP Adresse vergeben müssen, nehmen Sie folgende Einstellungen vor:
Klicken Sie auf den Radiobutton„Static“
Geben Sie jetzt folgende Daten ein:
IP-Address: IP-Adresse des web!SIGN101
Netmask: Netzwerkmaske
Gateway: IP-Adresse des Gateways
DNS-Server: IP-Adresse des DNS-Servers
Umstellen auf DHCP
Klicken Sie auf den Radiobutton„DHCP“

Hostname: Geben Sie hier den neuen Hostnamen ein
5.3. System
Festlegen der Zeitzone:
Für die zeitabhängigen Funktionen benötigt das web!SIGN101 die lokale Uhrzeit. Dafür muss die
korrekte Zeitzone eingestellt werden.

Festlegen der Zeitserver:
Das web!SIGN101 benötigt beim Starten einen externen Zeitserver um die aktuelle Zeit zu beziehen:
Time Server 1: Adresse von Zeitserver 1
Time Server 2: Adresse von Zeitserver 2
Falls Sie im Netzwerk einen eigenen Zeitserver betreiben, geben Sie hier die IP-Adresse oder den
Hostnamen des Zeitservers ein.
Festlegen der Ausschaltzeiten für das Display:
Display o [h]: Ausschaltzeit des Displays zur vollen Stunde [0-23]
Display on [h]: Einschaltzeit des Displays zur vollen Stundet [0-23]
Falls das Display immer eingeschaltet bleiben soll, lassen Sie die beiden Felder leer.

Auswahl des Browsers:
Wählen Sie hier den für Ihre Anwendung geeigneten Browser aus.
Browser: Midori Kiosk
Startet den Midori-Browser ohne Menü- und Toolbar im Vollbildmodus.
Versuchen Sie diesen Browser, wenn Sie keinen Touchmonitor haben
oder bei einfachen Touchanwendungen ohne on-screen Keybord und
ohne Gesten wie z.B. scrollen.
Chromium Kiosk
Startet den Chromium Browser ohne Menü und Toolbar im Vollbild-
modus. Für komplexere Touchanwendung mit Scrollen.
Chromium Kiosk Keyboard
Wie Chromium Kiosk. Bei Fokus auf ein Eingabefeld wird in dieser
Version ein on-screen Keyboard zur Dateneingabe angezeigt.
Chromium Keyboard
Startet den Chromium Browser mit Menüleiste und Toolbar (kein Voll-
bildmodus). Für die Dateneingabe ist ein on-screen Keyboard verfügbar.

Geben Sie hier die URL der anzuzeigenden Webseite ein, z.B. http://www.portsignum.net für die

1. Before using the product
1.1. Cleaning
• Wipe the device with a clean, dry and soft cloth.
• Use a damp cloth or a very small quantity of glass cleaner for the front glass.
1.2. Safety
• Do not use a damaged LAN cable.
• Do not bend or pull the LAN cable with force.
• Do not place the LAN cable under heavy objects.
• Keep the LAN socket where the LAN cable is connected unobstructed.
• Hold the connector when disconnecting the LAN cable from the LAN socket.
• Do not install the monitor within the reach of young children.
• Keep the plastic packaging out of the reach of children.
1.3. Operation
• Do not place objects on top of the product.
• Do not install the product in places with exposure to ne dust, chemical substances or
signicant moisture.
• Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, heat, or other hot objects.
• If the controller generates a burning smell or smoke, disconnect the power cord immediately.
• Do not insert object into the controller.
• To move the product, disconnect all cables rst.
• Do not allow children to play with the controller.

3. Functional description
web!SIGN101 is a monitor with 10.1”TFT display and HTML5 support to display web pages.The web
page, which is displayed after boot, is entered during conguration. If required, a refresh interval
for the browser can be entered, if the displayed web page does not support an automatic refresh.

web!SIGN101 is available with and without PCAP touch for on-wall and in-wall installations. It re-
quires a PoE switch as LAN interface and receives power and data via LAN cable.
4. Installation
4.1. Requirements
A PoE switch according to IEE 803.3af is required to supply the web!SIGN101 with power and data.
4.2. Connecting
Please read the enclosed Installation Guide carefully and follow the steps to install and connect
the web!SIGN101.
4.3. Getting started
Your web!SIGN101 is shipped with pre-congured parameters to make the installation as fast and
easy as possible.

When connected to a PoE switch, the boot process starts automatically and takes approximately 20
seconds. Then all parameters of the current network and system conguration are displayed for 30
seconds (Figure 1).
Finally, your web!SIGN101 opens the web page entered during conguration (factory setting is the

5. Conguration
5.1. Login
Congure the web!SIGN101 according to your requirements.
Connect your PC to the network and open your internet browser. To access the web!SIGN101 Con-
guration Login page, enter the host name of the web!SIGN101 as URL (http://ws1 or ws1/) or the IP
address from the parameter page.

Click on the red „Submit and Reboot“ button after having changed the conguration data. All pa-
rameters will be checked for correctness. If all parameters are correct, the web!SIGN101 loads the
new conguration and reboots.
If incorrect data has been detected, an error message is displayed.
5.2. LAN
Note: A wrong network conguration can compromise the stability of the whole network and
cause a breakdown of the network. Please contact your network administrator before
making changes to the LAN conguration of the web!SIGN101!
web!SIGN101 is shipped with DHCP setting and will receive the network conguration from a DHCP
server. Do not change this setting unless a static network conguration is required.
Change from DHCP to a static IP address
Perform the following steps if a static IP address is required:
Select radio button„Static“
Enter your new conguration:
IP-Address: IP address of the web!SIGN101
Netmask: Network mask
Gateway: IP address of the gateway
DNS-Server: IP address of the DNS server
Change from a static IP address to DHCP
Select radio button „DHCP“
Change the host name
Host name: Enter a new host name
5.3. System
Time zone:
The local time is required for all time dependent functions. Please select your local time zone.
Time Zone: System time zone
Select Time Zone: Select your time zone from the drop down menus
Time Server:
The web!SIGN101 requires an external time server to get the actual date and time:
Time Server 1: Address of time server 1
Time Server 2: Address of time server 2
If another time server is available in the network, enter the host name or IP address.
Display on/o time:
Display o [h]: Enter an hour [0-23] to switch the display o
Display on [h]: Enter an hour [0-23] to switch the display on
For display always on, leave the two elds empty.

Select Browser:
Select the browser used to display web sites.
Browser: Midori Kiosk
Midori-Browser in full screen mode without menu and toolbar.
Try this browser for applications without touch and for touch
applications without on-screen keyboard and scrolling.
Chromium Kiosk
Chromium Browser in full screen mode without menu and toolbar. For
more complex applications with touch and support for scrolling.
Chromium Kiosk Keyboard
Like Chromium Kiosk but with on-screen keyboard for data entry if the
focus is on input elds.
Chromium Keyboard
Chromium Browser with menu and toolbar (no full screen). With
on-screen keyboard for data entry if the focus is on input elds.
Displayed web page:
Enter the URL of the web page to be displayed after boot, e.g. http://www.portsignum.net for the
Portsignum web page.
Display this URL: URL of the website
Refresh interval:
Enter the refresh interval for the browser in minutes. Enter 0 if no refresh is required.
Refresh every [m]: Refresh interval [0-59]
Change User name and password:
A login is required to enter the web!SIGN101 conguration page. It is recommended to assign a new
password or user name.
User Name: Enter the new user name
Password: Enter the new password two times
