1. Operating modes
TPC7030 is set up such a way that there are several operating modes. The system of terminal may operate in
various modes for different purposes. The following diagram summarized the way to switch between different
modes.
Mode Description
Application:
User can execute the designed program which creates by SDK.
System Menu Use can change TPC7030 setting or checking basic information (such as current
firmware or Application version0, also can update Application.
Supervisor Menu
Provide SI (system integrator) do advanced setting on TPC7030
BIOS Reset
Set all settings to default values, but Application still exists.
Force Mode
Boot or Kernel update
System configurations are categorized in two groups, users can to set general system configuration or enter
Supervisor Menu to set advanced system configurations. The Supervisor Menu is also protected with
password checking to prevent unauthorized personnel from changing the system configuration. It is likely that
your unit came pre-configure by your software vender or system developer. In the case, please be caution
when changing the setting.
The terminal performs Warm-Start when it is switched on. After the Warm Start, the system enters Start mode
and shows the Start mode prompt.

1.1 System Menu
You can use the PW key to turn off the collector by continuously pressing on it for 0.5 second. After
power off, then press [3+9+PW] keys continually in Power OFF mode to enter System Menu.

1) Communication
File Transfer Only go to this mode to download and upload files from TPC7030 to PC through PT
FileManager. (except Bluetooth transmission)
Interface You can upload or download files through either RS-232 or USB on cradle.
Baud Rate The TPC7030 internal baud rate setting. The default value is 115200 bps. (Only for
RS-232).
2) File Manager

User can browse the C disk properties (memory total capacity, used space and
free space.
<D:>Property
User can browse the D disk properties (memory total capacity, used space and
free space.
DIR Disk
User can browse the files in both RAM disk and ROM disk.

Auto Off Timer Set up auto-off timer (00-65535)

Set up to resume the status before power off or restart the system when re-turn
on the TPC7030

Date/Time Set up the time and date of Real Time Clock in TPC7030.

SFT key
Switches between the character input mode and the number input mode.
[abc][ABC] lit on the LCD screen indicates the character input mode. When [123] is lit, the
terminal is in the number input mode.
Function key
F1 (-): Inputs the minus (-) sign
F2 (SP): Inputs a space
F3 (DEL): Deletes a character
F4 (BL): Turns the key lights ON and OFF
F5 ( ): Increases buzzer volume
F6 ( ): Increases LCD backlight
P1: Decreases Buzzer volume and program 1 (for user SDK define)
P2: Decrease LCD backlight and program 2 (for user SDK define)

3. PT FileManager
The PT FileManager is the tool to download and upload files from TPC7030 to PC. Beside this, PT FileManager
also can do
1. File management
To past and copy files (including TPC7030 data, disk and files)
2. Monitor TPC7030 data collector
Monitor TPC7030 and transmit file automatically.
