to safelyoperate and care for yourpower chair, it should give you years oftroublefreeoperationand service.
Readandfollowallinstructions,warnings,and notesinthismanualbeforeattemptingto operateyourpowerchairforthe
first time. Inaddition, your safetydepends upon you,aswell as your provider,caretaker, or healthcare professional in
usinggoodjudgement.

Do not allow unsupervised children to play near the power chair while the batteries are
charging.
Maximum seating weight.
Keep your hands away from the tires when driving. Be aware that loose fitting clothing
can become caught in drive tires.
Use correct tie-down points for controller harness to prevent the harness from getting
caught in the drive tires or pinched in the seat frame.
Avoid exposure to rain, snow, ice, salt, or standing water whenever possible. Maintain
and store in a clean and dry condition.

Removal of grounding prong can create electrical hazard. If necessary, properly install
an approved 3-pronged adapter to an electrical outlet having 2-pronged plug access.

EMI-RFI - This product has been tested and passed at an immunity level of 20 V/m.
Explosive conditions exist!
Use only AGM or Gel-Cell batteries to reduce the risk of leakage or explosive
conditions.
Keep tools and other metal objects away from battery terminals.

Do not use batteries with different amp-hour (Ah) capacities. Do not mix old and

MANDATORY! Do not operate your new power chair for the first time without completely reading
and understanding this owner’s manual.
Your power chairisa state-of-the-artlife-enhancementdevicedesignedto increasemobility.Pride providesanextensive
varietyof products tobest fit the individualneeds of the powerchair user. Please be aware thatthe final selection and
purchasing decision regarding the type of power chair to be used is the responsibility of the power chair user, who is
capableof makingsuchadecision, andhis/herhealthcareprofessional (i.e.,medicaldoctor, physicaltherapist,etc.).
Thecontents ofthismanualare basedontheexpectation thatamobility device experthasproperly fitted thepowerchair
totheuserandhasassisted theprescribing healthcareprofessionaland/ortheQuantumRehabSpecialist intheinstruction
processfor the use of theproduct.
Therearecertainsituations,includingsomemedicalconditions,wherethepowerchairuserwillneedtopracticeoperating
the power chair in the presence of a trained attendant.Atrained attendant can be defined as a family member or care
professionalspeciallytrainedinassistingapowerchairuserinvariousdailylivingactivities.
Asyoubegin usingyourpowerchairduringdailyactivities,youwillprobablyencountersituationsinwhichyou willneed
somepractice.Simplytakeyourtimeandyouwillsoonbeinfullandconfidentcontrolasyoumaneuverthroughdoorways,
onandoffofelevators, up and down ramps, and over moderate terrain.
Belowaresome precautions,tips, andothersafetyconsiderationsthatwillhelpyoubecomeaccustomedtooperatingyour
powerchairsafely.
Modifications
Pridehasdesignedandengineeredyourpowerchairtoprovidemaximummobilityandutility.Awiderangeofaccessories
isavailable from your Quantum Rehab Specialist to furthercustomizeyourpowerchairtobetter suit your needs and/or
preferences.However,undernocircumstances should youmodify,add, remove, ordisableanyfeature, part, or function
ofyour power chair.
WARNING! Do not modify your power chair in any way not authorized by Pride. Do not use
accessories if they have not been tested or approved for Pride products.
Pre-Ride Safety Check
Gettoknowthefeelofyourpowerchairanditscapabilities.Priderecommendsthatyouperformasafetycheckbefore
eachusetomakesure your power chair operates smoothly and safely.
Performthefollowinginspectionsprior to using your power chair:
!Checkforpropertireinflation.Maintainbutdonotexceed35psi(2.4bar)ineachtireifequippedwithpneumatictires.
!Checkall electrical connections. Make sure they are tight and notcorroded.
!Checkallcontrollerconnections to the power base. Make sure they aresecured properly.
!Checkthe brakes. See VII. “Care andMaintenance.”
!Checkbattery charge. See VI. “Batteries and Charging.”
