Plug the RCD directly into a xed socket and then plug the appliance into the RCD to allow it to be protected
Operating instructions:
Please read these operating instructions prior to use and always observe the test procedure below before each application to
ensure safe use.
1. Insert the RCD safety adaptor into a 13A mains socket and switch on
2. Press the RESET button and wait for the orange indicator to appear
3. Press the TEST button and the orange indicator will disappear from the CLEAR window
Important: Do Not Use If The Indicator Remains
4. Press the RESET button. The RCD has now been set for safe use provided the ORANGE indicator shows in the
CLEAR window

DO: Unplug from the mains before any inspection of the appliance
DO: Keep children away from sockets and electrical appliances
DO: Seek expert advice if you experience difculties when setting up your adaptor or if it repeatedly trips when in use
DO: Store and use your adaptor between -5°C and +40°C
DON’T: Use your adaptor as a substitute for carrying out normal precautions when using your mains electrical power

DON’T: Use in conditions where the atmosphere is loaded with ammable vapour
DON’T: Immerse in liquid or use in wet and humid conditions
DON’T: Drop the unit. Stop use if the case becomes damaged
DON’T: Use above an altitude of 2,000m above sea level
Should the RCD not complete any part of the test procedure, do not use and remove from socket immediately. Following this,
seek expert advice.
Non-Latching/Active RCD’s will switch off when power to them is turned off. Each time the appliance is turned off the RCD will
trip and have to be reset by going to the socket.
