2. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work
materials or to reduce the effects of tool vibration.
3. Wear protective clothing designed for the work
environment and tool.
4. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing
and balance in the work environment.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement and the work
environment to avoid personal injury or damage to the tool.
1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medications.
2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become
entangled with the moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair
covered or bound.
3. Do not overreach when operating the tool. Proper footing
and balance enables better control in unexpected situations.

3. Do not use the heater in areas with corrosive atmospheres
(marine, greenhouses, or chemical storage rooms). Do not
use in locations where flammable liquids are used or stored.
4. Do not move, handle or service the heater while it is hot.

5. Keep all combustible materials away from a running heater.
Refer to the table below for the minimum clearance around
the heater:

6. Do not block the heater’s air intakes or exhaust.
7. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter through the
heater’s ventilation.
8. Direct the heater’s airflow parallel to or away from an
adjacent wall.
9. Turn the unit off immediately and resolve any issues if the
Overheating Indicator light is flashing.
10. Keep small pets away from the area during first use. The
unit will initially produce fumes as the manufacturer’s
coatings are burned off. The fumes are harmless to humans
but may affect small animals.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING! Do not touch or handle a live tool with any part of
your body that is wet or damp. Wet skin reduces resistance to
electrical current, increasing the danger of a serious or
fatal shock.
1. Disconnect tool from power source before cleaning,
servicing, changing parts/accessories or when not in use.
2. Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on
electrical equipment. Avoid body contact with grounded
surfaces. There is an increased chance of electrical shock if
your body is grounded.

3. Do not expose the tool to rain or wet conditions. Water
entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
4. Do not alter any parts of the tool or accessories. All parts
and accessories are designed with built-in safety features
that may be compromised if altered.
5. Make certain the power source conforms to requirements
of your equipment (see Specifications).
6. When wiring an electrically driven device, follow all
electrical and safety codes, as well as the most recent
Canadian Electrical Code (CE) and Canadian Centre for
Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
WARNING! All wiring should be performed by a
qualified electrician.
UNPACKING
WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing.
Replace the missing part before operating. Failure to do so
could result in a malfunction and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect
for damage.
ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Dashed numbers in parenthesis (Fig. 1-1) refer to a specific
point in an illustration or image.
POSITIONING THE HEATER
Install the heater out of traffic areas and maintain the minimum
clearance required. The direction of the airflow should not be
restricted or obstructed. If installing multiple heaters, ensure
that the units are arranged to promote proper air circulation.

MOUNTING THE BRACKET
CAUTION! The mounting structure and the anchoring
hardware must be able to support the weight of the heater to
avoid hazardous situations.
1. Locate a stud in the ceiling or
wall joist.
2. Remove the mounting bracket
from the heating unit.
2.1 Loosen the bracket screws
with a wrench.
2.2 Slip the handle off the
screw heads.
3. Mount the bracket to the ceiling or wall joist using the
provided 3/8 in. diagonal lag bolts and flat washers. See
Fig. 2. Use only one bolt and washer set on the centre of
the bracket if the heater will be rotated.
HANGING THE HEATER
1. Lift the heater up and into the mounting bracket.
2. Align the bracket screws with the keyhole slots. Use the
bottom keyhole slot (Fig. 3-1) if the heater will be tilted down.
3. Tighten the bracket screws to secure.

WIRING THE HEATER
WARNING! Switch off the appropriate circuit breakers at the
electrical panel before starting to avoid electrical shock.
CAUTION! Use only copper wires that are rated for at least 75 ºC.
1. Slide the copper wires (see table below for wiring
requirements) through the provided cable connectors.

IMPORTANT! A conduit may be required for certain
setups. Check with your local electrical codes.
2. Remove the front screws (Fig. 3-2) at the base of the
heater to access the power block.

3. Connect the wires to the power block by following the
diagram below:

CONVERTING FROM SINGLE PHASE TO
THREE-PHASE
The unit is factory-wired for single phase applications. To
convert for three-phase applications, connect L1 and L3 (see
Fig. 6) to L2 (see Fig. 7).

CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL THERMOSTAT
Connect the external thermostat to the switch in the control
panel as shown in Fig. 8.

SETTING THE THERMOSTAT
Use the switch to toggle between the heater’s thermostat and an
external thermostat (if installed). To use the heater’s thermostat:
1. Rotate the thermostat knob clockwise to HIGH. The power
indicator will turn yellow.

2. Once the room reaches the desired temperature, the unit
will power down. Rotate the knob counterclockwise until
the thermostat clicks off. When the temperature drops, the
heater will power on to maintain the set temperature.
NOTICE! Rotate the thermostat knob slowly so the heating
element starts or stops before the fan. Doing so protects the
heating element from damage.
ADJUSTING AIR FLOW DIRECTION
Loosen the bracket screws to rotate or tilt the heater to the
desired position. Retighten the screws to secure. The heater’s
louvres can be adjusted but are designed to not completely close.
NOTICE! Do not force the louvres to prevent damage to
the heater.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is
efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace
damaged or worn components. Only use identical
replacement parts when servicing.
3. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool.
4. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry
important information. If unreadable or missing, contact
Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the
tool. An improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the
user and/or others.
CLEANING
Wipe the surface with a clean, moist cloth. Do not use solvents.

DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does
not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so,
have a qualified technician service the tool.

6. N’obstruez pas les orifices d’admission ou d’échappement
d’air de l’appareil de chauffage.
7. N’insérez pas d’objets étrangers et évitez que ceux-ci ne
pénètrent dans les orifices de ventilation de l’appareil
de chauffage.
8. Dirigez le débit d’air de l’appareil de chauffage dans un
sens parallèle ou de façon à l’éloigner d’un mur adjacent.

9. Fermez immédiatement l’appareil et corrigez tout
problème si le témoin lumineux de surchauffe clignote.
10. Lorsque vous mettez l’appareil sous tension pour la
première fois, gardez les petits animaux de compagnie à
l’écart de la zone. Au départ, l’appareil produira de la fumée
alors que brûleront les revêtements appliqués par le
fabricant. Ces fumées sont inoffensives pour l’homme, mais
elles peuvent avoir un effet sur les petits animaux.
SÉCURITÉ EN ÉLECTRICITÉ
AVERTISSEMENT ! Ne touchez et ne manipulez pas un outil
sous tension avec une partie du corps qui est mouillée ou
humide. La peau humide réduit la résistance au courant
électrique, augmentant ainsi le risque de choc grave ou mortel.
AVERTISSEMENT ! Pour réduire les risques de choc
électrique, assurez-vous que la fiche est branché dans une
prise de courant correctement mise à la masse.
1. Déconnectez l'outil de la source d'énergie avant le
nettoyage, l'entretien, le remplacement de pièces ou
d'accessoires ou lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé.
2. Protégez-vous contre les chocs électriques lorsque vous
travaillez en présence d'équipement électrique. Évitez le
contact entre votre corps et les surfaces reliées à la terre. Il
y a un risque plus élevé de choc électrique si votre corps
est mis à la terre.
3. Les outils ne doivent jamais être exposés à la pluie ou à une
forte humidité. Si l'eau pénètre à l'intérieur d'un outil, le
risque de choc électrique devient beaucoup plus grand.
4. Ne modifiez aucune partie de l'outil ou des accessoires.
Toutes les pièces et tous les accessoires sont conçus avec

5. Assurez-vous que la source d'énergie est conforme aux
exigences de votre équipement (consulter
les spécifications).
6. Au moment de câbler un appareil électrique, respectez
tous les codes en matière d'électricité et de sécurité, ainsi
que les versions les plus récentes du Code canadien de
l'électricité (CE) et du code du Centre canadien d'hygiène
et de sécurité au travail (CCHST).
AVERTISSEMENT ! Tout le câblage doit être installé par un
électricien qualifié.
DÉBALLAGE
AVERTISSEMENT ! Ne faites pas fonctionner l'outil si des
pièces sont manquantes. Remplacez les pièces manquantes

ASSEMBLAGE ET INSTALLATION
Les numéros entrecoupés entre parenthèses (Fig. 1-1) se
rapportent à un point précis d'une illustration ou d'une image.
POSITIONNEMENT DE L’APPAREIL
DE CHAUFFAGE
Installez l’appareil de chauffage à l’écart des zones de
circulation et assurez le jeu minimal obligatoire. Le sens du
débit d’air ne devrait pas être restreint ou obstrué. Si vous
installez plusieurs appareils de chauffage, assurez-vous de les
placer de manière à assurer une circulation efficace de l’air.

MONTAGE DU SUPPORT
ATTENTION ! La structure de montage et la quincaillerie
d’ancrage doivent être en mesure de soutenir le poids de
l’appareil de chauffage afin de prévenir les
situations dangereuses.
1. Repérez un montant dans le mur
ou une solive dans le plafond.
2. Retirez le support de montage de
l’appareil de chauffage.
2.1 Desserrez la vis du support au
moyen d’une clé.
2.2 Glissez la poignée hors des
têtes de vis.
3. Fixez le support à la solive du plafond ou du mur au moyen
des tire-fond en diagonale de 3/8 po et des rondelles
plates fournis. Voir la fig. 2. Utilisez un seul ensemble de
boulon et de rondelle au centre du support si l’appareil de
chauffage doit tourner.
