The PSA LIFESAVER 5800ACF is a low profile AC/DC
powered photoelectric smoke alarm that operates on
a 240V power source with a non-removeable 10 year
lithium battery backup. This advanced smoke alarm
has the ability to function as a stand alone unit or in an
interconnected system. The PSA Lifesaver 5800ACF is
compatible with other PSA Lifesaver smoke alarms, heat
alarm, carbon monoxide alarm and ancillary devices.
This alarm uses photoelectric sensing technology.
Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible
particles (associated with smoldering fires) sooner
than ionisation alarms. Ionisation sensing alarms may
detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming
fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms.
PSA Lifesaver model 5800ACF is a 240VAC powered
alarm with a 10 year lithium battery to provide
continuous protection during a power failure and
includes a quick connect power harness to make
installation simple.

ENGINEERING SPECIFICATIONS
The smoke alarm shall be PSA Lifesaver model LIF5800ACF. It shall
be powered by a 240VAC, 50Hz source along with a fixed non-
removeable 10 year lithium battery backup. The unit shall incorporate
photoelectric sensing technology with insect screen protection. The
temperature operation range shall be between 0ºC and 40ºC and
the humidity operating range shall be up to 93% relative humidity.
The smoke alarm shall be low profile mounted designed with an
installed dimension of 110mm wide x 28.5mm high. The electrical
connection (to the alarm) shall be made with a plug-in connector.
A maximum of 24 PSA Lifesaver devices can be interconnected in a
multiple station arrangement.
The alarm shall include a test button that will electronically simulate
the presence of smoke and cause the unit to go into alarm. This
sequence tests the unit’s electronics, battery and horn to ensure
proper operation. The unit shall include a piezoelectric horn that is
rated at 85 decibels at 3 metres. Single button operates both Hush
and alarm test for easy operation and less confusion. The unit shall
also include a low battery warning utilizing a brief alarm chirp
every 43 seconds for a minimum of seven (7) days. The unit shall
incorporate red and green LED indicators. The green LED indicates
the power status of the alarm. The red LED is a visual indicator of
alarm and warning chirps.
Standby Condition: The green LED will be lit if on AC power or
off if on battery backup. Alarm Condition: When the alarm senses
products of combustion and enters alarm the red LED will blink
in unison with the sounder. The flashing red LEDs and pulsating
alarm will continue until the air is cleared. Should the units is in an
interconnected system, it will sound an alarm and flash the red LED
and the green LED will remain at is standby state. Alarm Memory:
This smoke alarm is equipped with an alarm memory, which provides
an audible indication when an alarm has been activated. Pressing the
Test button on the initiating unit will give rapid beeping indicating the
unit is the initiator. It resets when the button is released.
Hush Mode: The Hush mode will be over ridden if there is heavy
presence of smoke particles in the air. The unit shall at a minimum
meet the requirements of AS3786:2014 and is Activfire listed. It shall
also include a 10 year manufacture’s limited warranty.
INSTALLATION OF THE SMOKE ALARM
The PSA Lifesaver 5800ACF is easy to install by drilling a 90mm
hole into the plaster ceiling. The unit is fitted with spring toggle
clips to secure the smoke alarm behind the ceiling. The unit is
connected to the power using a supplied 4 pin power connector
and lead with terminal block for safe and easy installation. A
mounting adapting ring is provided.
